Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Study Butte-Terlingua

This place is unique, so cute and what a great courtyard to enjoy fellowship and the night sky! Our friends stayed here and we enjoyed the Guesthouse next door. It was a great setup for us. They were concerned about the outdoor bathhouse and potty but actually loved it! This host goes the extra mile for the guests! Perfect location too! We’ll return!

Staying at The Perch was an amazing experience! The surrounding area and views of the Chisos Mountains are spectacular. And the clear night sky made for incredible stargazing. The team was super responsive before and during our stay. The off grid nature of the place meant making some adjustments for family members who aren’t so outdoorsy, like needing a flashlight to visit the bathroom at night, and hand washing dishes! But the well equipped kitchen, gorgeous deck and beautiful setting were worth it. If it’s cold when you visit, bring blankets so you can sit outside anyway!

We really enjoyed our stay at Craig’s unique place and appreciated all of the thoughtful details. The starry nights and peace and quiet were a wonderful escape from life in the city. We would love to return in the spring when the weather is slightly warmer!

We had the most beautiful time at Betty’s place. The property looked exactly like the pictures, but was somehow even better in person. You can really feel the work that went into the details that make the house so unique. There were so many comfortable places to relax and soak in the surroundings— we enjoyed stargazing by the fire and eating breakfast at the little white table with a view of the mountains. We also enjoyed the outdoor shower! Betty was very kind and helpful with local recommendations. We will definitely be back.

We loved it and we had a great stay! The place was nice and private. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed. The scenery in the backyard was amazing! We hope to go back in the future!

The view at this place was unimaginable! The hosts keep the home clean and provide well thought out instructions. We had a peaceful stay! Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

I don’t think I have the words to accurately describe The Big Bend Homestead. The scenery is breathtaking, inspiring and peaceful. The house itself is beautiful in an earthy and subtle way, every detail is perfect. It is extremely cozy and comfortable. The location provides easy access to Big Bend National Park. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very responsive. I cherished every minute there and can not wait to return.

Beautiful A-frame cabins with modern amenities. Everything from the kitchen to the bedroom, bathroom and living room was perfectly clean. The hosts were very communicative. It’s a really special and interesting place to stay. I highly recommend it and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you!

The hosts did a great job of taking an unassuming looking outside and making sure the inside was well laid out and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The outside area looked nice but it was too chilly to take advantage of it

We were extremely pleased with our stay at the cottage. We had 3 adults and 3 kids. Everything was clean and well stocked. The queen bed and 3 twins in the loft were comfortable but the hide a bed in the couch is not acceptable for an adult. The game room was a hit! The fire pit and patio was nice. The location was very convenient. It was a great place to go back to after a long day at Big Bend.

This place is perfect. My wife is sensitive to smells and the cleaner they used was cloying. Otherwise perfect for a BB adventure

I loved every minute of my stay with Stardust. It was easy to find, great location between the park and the town.

This was an incredible place to stay. George was very responsive and very welcoming/friendly. This place is the perfect spot to see incredible stars and have incredible camping views while sitting by the fire listening to music. We couldn’t recommend this place more. The best part was listening to George’s hit song “Ain’t No Honky Tonks in Jail” which was always playing on our speaker by the fire.

Everything is accurate to the description, so read it carefully to be sure you're getting what you want. These cabins are comfortable and the views are beautiful, but it's not like staying at a hotel. There is no AC and the cabin does get warm during the day, but at least while we were there (April) the nights cooled off sufficiently that we slept comfortably. Cooking on the camp stove was a challenge our first night due to high wind, but we managed. The three cabins all face different directions, and I think Ipo might be the best one. The sun morning sun will blast you awake, but the advantage is that the porch is in full shade starting in the afternoon, which makes it very pleasant. The view is amazing, highly recommend.

We loved staying at Camp Elena. Many places in Terlingua were right off the road, and this place is tucked away on an accessible dirt road. Perfect to create the quiet atmosphere for our getaway! The tent was exactly as pictured, clean, and very comfortable. We loved watching the sun rise and set from our balcony. We also loved being able to have fires at night! Our first couple nights, we had some pretty noisy neighbors who we could hear entire conversations from late at night (well past quiet hours). We notified the host, and they addressed it right away. Otherwise, we felt that other guests were respectful of the quiet/calm atmosphere. The host was responsive, and kind. Very easy to get in contact with! We appreciated the guidebook in the tent with how to operate everything and with local recommendations. We would certainly stay here again, and recommend it to others (though…I’d love for us to keep it a secret, so we could have it for ourselves. 😉).

Had a wonderful experience, was exactly what we were looking for. The location is very private and peaceful. Our family enjoyed doing s’mores while enjoying the beautiful scenery and stargazing. Our kids loved the loft!

This is a nice little place in the middle of nothing. If you want to look for places to set your camera for night sky, you don't need to travel to big bend, this place has ample amount of darkness for night sky photography. Tyler was detailed in his instructions in finding the house. Suggestion - Use exact gps coordinates in lat and long to find the house.

This cabin was perfect for our visit to Big Bend. Conveniently located near the park and food, gas, and anything else you might need. The cabin was cozy and equipped with all the modern comforts. There is also a great food truck just a few steps away with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.

An amazing cabin! Private and secluded without feeling too isolated. Fully stocked with everything you’d need inside, and a beautiful outdoor seating and grilling area that makes the desert feel like your backyard. Stays warm on cold desert nights (in the 20s). We loved our stay and would hope to stay again on future visits to Big Bend!
