St. John places to stay

Very comfortable, peaceful and quiet with beautiful water view from balcony. While walking to local beaches doable, would recommend renting a car as taxis can be expensive. Jason was a great host, easy to reach and very helpful. Highly recommend!

What a great place to stay - close to in my opinion some of the best beaches on the island (Salt Pond Bay, Little Lameshur Bay), plenty of amenities (towels, beach chairs, cooler, kitchen supplies), and a balcony for viewing the wildlife in the morning and stars at night. Amber and Jeremy were also great hosts - responsive, provided detailed check-in/check-out information, and let us in on some great local recommendations. Would definitely stay again! 5/5 stars.

Hummingbird Haven was great for our family! The view is beautiful & we loved sitting on the balcony. You can easily walk to the beach or the pool/hot tub. It was so nice to have so much gear to use— snorkels and masks, beach balls, noodles, towels, etc. We spent our first couple days just at the beach or pool and our kids (preschool up to teens) loved it! Each room had its own temp control, so there were no squabbles over the thermostat. It was very quiet throughout the complex; nothing disturbed us getting our littlest to sleep at bedtime or naptime. You can easily walk to Sangrias for a low-key meal, or Caribbean Fish Market for a nicer dinner as well! Oh— and I must mention that my kids’ favorite thing might have been the tortoises and bunnies on the walk to the beach! There is a marked parking space right by the condo. We didn’t have a car— it’s easy to walk to the office and get a cab. It’s only a 5 min, $7/person cab ride to RedHook to hop the ferry to St John! We’ll be back!

We showed up later in the evening, and Hannah’s instructions were spot on, her villa was sooooo cute and that shower was spacious. The view was spectacular and the area was super quiet, was an awesome getaway from the busses and busses of St Thomas.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Airbnb. It had everything we needed and more. Would recommend to anyone going to St John that wants to be walking distance from downtown. Hope to return one day.

Akil’s place worked very well for our needs. It was very comfortable and clean. The a/c worked great at cooling down the place after walking around in the sun all day. It is very close to Dolphin market which was really convenient. It was nice having coffee and tea available for in the mornings. Would recommend to those who want to walk around Cruz bay and taxi to other parts of the island. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a couple of helpful tips from the host for traveling around in the area. It would have been helpful to have been informed the best way to get a taxi (which is to walk to the ferry dock and let the drivers know where you are going and they will point you in the direction of the right taxi); I spent way too long our first morning in town calling around to try to get a ride to the beach.

Our stay at Maridadi Clifftop an incredible week that exceeded our expectations. The view is phenomenal from the patio and inside the guest suite. The property is beautifully maintained with lush tropical plants framing the ocean view while providing ample privacy and solitude. We have stayed at many Airbnb’s over the year and this one tops them all with many thoughtful amenities…beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, beach bags, umbrellas and a well-appointed coffee bar just to name a few. Ruby and Fernando truly understand hospitality and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived with beach, hiking and restaurant suggestions and advice for how to navigate the island. This is a perfect getaway for anyone seeking a peaceful, secluded location within a short drive to restaurants and beaches. Highly recommend!

A beautiful, clean, semi-private location!! Didn't have any problems. The walk to "downtown" and beach were longer and not easy for older persons, but still wasn't far and we took our time! The house, even the outside, were really clean! Would definitely stay here again!!

St. John is already a quiet island compared to St. Thomas. But if you want real quiet, this place is perfect. Waking up to the sounds of nature was one of the best things about being here. That and relaxing on the deck at night. The place is spacious and comfortable. The extra charging ports next to the bed was perfect for what I needed to charge all my electronics. Also for reference, if you have a rental car. You will need something like a Jeep, the road up there is a little rough in some spots.
