Vacation rentals in Smith River

Castle in the Clouds says it all. We had multiple times where we were surrounded by clouds while sitting on the balcony. On ckear days the view is amazinga. Comfortable living room, table for 6, blackout curtains in the bedrooms, lots of towels, well-stocked kitchen. The double bed bunk is not connected so movement in one bed does not affect the other. Friendly service at check-out, shuttle, and security. This location is close to so many hikes, waterfalls, and tourist attractions.

This was a great base for exploring the area — peaceful but lots to do within a short drive. The condo was as described and well-equipped for families with kids. Trey was responsive and helpful. We had a great time and would stay again!

This was our second time booking here! It’s the perfect size getaway for our annual family vacation. Our family enjoyed the multiple levels of porches and played a few games of pool downstairs. Very peaceful area!

The view is AMAZING. 2nd floor facing ski slopes. The sunset is gorgeous from this condo. Easy check in with great indoor pool (steam room, sauna, hot tubs). Only negative is a little dated and could use new wall coverings. Other than that super clean with lots of sitting room in common room. Kitchen well equipped as we cooked in a few times. Great value! Great area!

As always, the house was perfect for our visit. It was so nice that the house was decorated for Christmas! It made it feel so cozy and homey. We always love staying here. It is so conveniently located near town, but also very quiet. Rhonda is an excellent host and her house is beautiful. We will definitely be back.

Dave was great! Check-in was super easy, the place is very nice, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, and if you have questions he's very responsive. Would stay again!

Loved the tiny games! So well decorated, clean and comfortable. Great view! Will definitely stay again!

Second time staying here and it was equally great. They did a nice job cleaning all the snow from the driveway and deck to access the house. Place matches the photos and it's very cozy. Living room and kitchen did get a little on the cold side but it was in the low teen's that night. Bedrooms however did stay nice and warm and the beds were comfortable. Very close to restaurants in Banner Elk and only a couple of minutes to get to Sugar Mountain resort amenities. Highly recommend, especially if skiing or tubing!
