We had a lovely stay at Francesca's home to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. 6 adults and 3 children were easily accommodated, and the space allowed us to have a fun catch-up. Fran's printed information sheets were great, and allowed us to make the most of our time there. Friendly, responsive host. We hope to be back!

Fabulous lodge, beautifully decorated for Christmas with a lovely festive welcome pack waiting for us on arrival. The beds were comfy and a good size unlike other lodges we've stayed in. Peaceful site which is close to plenty of restaurants and other amenities. Good communication from the host. We had a perfect family Christmas staying here and enjoyed it so much, we've already booked another stay.

Lovely house exactly as described. Wonderful place to spend a few days with family. Quality of the finish is great and the house has everything you could need. Hamper on arrival was a lovely surprise. Communication from R&H excellent. Overall, I really couldn’t recommend the house enough for a trip to the Lakes

We loved our stay at School House over the holiday period. It was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree and other decorations. Felt very homely. We cooked Christmas dinner at the Airbnb which went perfectly. We walked into town everyday which was only a 5-10 min stroll and there is also a good softplay for the kids a 5 min walk away by Lidl. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Family of 4 stayed 3 nights in October 2024 and it was just what we needed. Had some beautiful long walks along the beach. The caravan was home from home, clean and cosy. It had everything you could want for cooking a simple breakfast to Sunday Roast. Clean and respectful surroundings around the park. I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Lingmell is a perfect place to stay - perched on a quite street above bustling and workmanlike Ambleside with steep but easy access to local shops & cafes as well as nearby walks and the park. Unassuming from the front, it opens up to elevated views over the town and Loughrigg Fell opposite - you could spend all day just watching the weather and the hills. But you can't...there is so much to do: walks, waterfalls, coffee shops, Zefirelli's (for cinema & jazz), boats on Lake Windermere...everywhere is pretty close. And finally, if you have the energy, there is the pool and spa, run by the entertaining management team! And Garth is always at hand if you need anything...a big 'Thank You' from us!

Our family had a lovely stay at Burrowbank at the end of the summer holiday. The house is fantastic with all the facilities you could ask for. The kids loved the swings and most of all the pool, while the covered (heated) BBQ area meant evening meals outside watching the sunset. Great location and setting, very private and we would definitely come again and recommend to others. Martyn and Christine were very helpful and went the extra mile (even posting my daughter’s disposable camera that she left behind). Can’t think of any negatives and we made some great/happy memories.

What a beautiful place to stay! Everything about this house was fantastic. The location was perfect right in the heart of Bowness with easy access to the lake, shops, bars and restaurants. Parking available for several cars (We had 4 but you could easily fit more). The house itself is just amazing with everything catered for all of our party which ranged from 21 to 80 year olds. The kitchen and dining areas are great and well stocked with absolutely everything you need. Plenty of space in the main living room for our party of 9 to all gather together. Bedrooms were all ensuite, well decorated and very comfortable. The games room with Pool table and hot tub was a great place to relax and have some fun, and the cinema room was fantastic. Great views from the balcony, up and down the Windermere valley. Communication with host David, was 1st class with immediate responses to any questions and a very flexible approach to requests. Would highly recommend and we will hopefully return.

Would 100% recommend staying at the Riverain Coach House. We recently stayed with some friends and enjoyed local walks close to the house, a good selection of local pubs nearby but would recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment. However with Penrith and shops being only 10 minutes away, it wasn't a problem. The house has been done up beautifully and is really well equipped. Christine was great, providing lots of helpful information before our stay and the welcome hamper went down a treat. Thank you so much, we would 100% stay again.

I booked on behalf of some gentlemen we had working in Barrow, Kelly was fantastic, she was on hand, fast replies, patient and very helpful. She met our needs fantastically and quickly, Managed to get cleaners out to the house asap for us. I cannot fault her. Amazing.

The house was as described. Very quiet on an evening. Great location for walking in the lakes following our walk up Scarfell Pike and Ennerdale. It’s not particularly a tourist location but a great base! All locals really friendly and Everything was expected and described.

An absolutely lovely little house. Extremely comfortable and clean and like being at a second home. It’s a quick walk to lots of pubs, restaurants and the lake. We Managed to get a free parking space outside the house, which was so handy to unload our bags. Liam was great with messages and offering any advice. All the details for the home were helpful and easy to follow. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the Lake District, as it’s an amazing base to the rest of the beautiful villages and scenery.

Another excellent stay at Susan's place. We loved it despite the horrible weather. Beautiful surroundings, very quite and peaceful, excellent walks on the doorstep and then a fireplace to chill out and relax. The place is dog friendly, with a garden and walkable distance to Sedbergh. We will definitely be returning for another stay!

A lovely stay in Windermere. The house was in a perfect location to explore the Lakes. Margaret and Alexander were great hosts who were very helpful on arrival! My top tip would be to take photos of check in information as access to the website can be tricky until you can connect to the broadband in the house. The house was spacious and perfect for my family. Cosy to return to after being out all day. I look forward to returning to further explore such a beautiful area.

Nice, quirky property very close to Kendal centre. A great base for exploring the Lake District also. Would definitely stay again.

An absolutely amazing place. We found ourselves at home and with all the convenient amenities required for a great holiday. Very spacious and situated in a perfect location. Above all, Brenda was simply amazing, taking time to explain everything and giving us excellent recommendations. She was so helpful and always contactable. We will certainly be returning to this beautiful cottage.

Beautiful house - the kitchen was a great place for us all to get together. And to have a pool/table tennis table in the garage - was a bonus - kept the grandsons entertained!! Great location as could walk to the lake and into Windermere for a coffee! But is was so peaceful as well. We all had a fantastic and much needed break. Even the weather - it rained - could not dampen our spirits!!! Loved it and would book again.

A beautiful house in a stunning location, could not think of anywhere better to spend New Year. The location was amazing, next door is currently being refurbished but this wasn’t a problem as it was the holidays, there were no workers on site. I can only imagine once this work is completed the property will be even more amazing than it is already. The gardens are magical, but the advice to be careful and watch small children is useful as it is steep and not suitable for everyone. It rained none stop while we were there (can’t help the weather) so the large hallway was great for drying the dogs snd leaving our mountain of coats, hats and boots. There was a small issue with the hot water but Kate responded immediately and sorted it out straight away. To top it off there were four separate firework displays in Grasmere which we could see from the front window, lighting up the lake. A brilliant New Year. We have already checked if it’s available for next year but someone beat us to it!

We had a fantastic weekend away with friends in Upper Oak House. The house is beautiful and very well equipped, the hot tub being an added bonus. The house was spotless and cleaned to a very high standard. It’s in a great location with Windermere high street, with its great range of shops and restaurants just a 5 minute walk away. Bowness is a 25 minute walk away but there are regular buses which only take 5 minutes. We will definitely be back!

Amazing 300+ years old Grade-2 listed house with fantastic feel still retained. On top Joyce and Lucy are amazing hosts. My 6 year old even struck up a great conversation with Lucy and they started playing a board game of sorts :-) They always kept us informed, and ensured the house is kept warm all time. Easily accessible to some local villages, the beach and also just half an hour away from the Lake districts. Only point I will make is if they can offer a small kitchen facility that will be great for families. Having said that -it wasn't a problem at all as beverage, cutlery and crockeries were all provided. Plus free milk, juice etc. And we actually enjoyed some wonderful takeaways who deliver within 30 mins. Jasmine Palace - the chinese was great.
