Eaglerock Guesthouse and tours

MartinaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We loved our stay in this home. It was not too far out from the nearest town with a gas station and some restaurants and grocery story (beware that you're a bit limited on Sundays as places close early). We hit a snow storm while there, so the host brought out a tractor to plow, which FYI the road leading to the home is a bit bumpy with the washboard bumps. Super easy checkin, door was open and key on the table. The home was spacious with a large living room and kitchen/dining room for our party, enough rooms and beds for everyone, a couple of toilets and one shower. We had to space out our showers due to the electric water heater taking a bit to warm up. It was a great and spacious property, so fun for my girls to play in the snow. We had a very comfortable stay here and would stay again.

Katla house,secluded,south Iceland

JonathanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
It was a great experience. We were a group of 8 so the beds accomodated us effectively, though one of the rooms smelled funny so we did not use it. We got lucky and saw an incredible light show with the northern lights on a moonless night on the 31st of December - vivid greens and a little red too! On top of it all, we saw a few shooting stars. When midnight struck for the new year, a firework show started unexpectedly in the neighboring yard for the New Year. It will be memories we hold dear for a lifetime.

The Green Garden Country Home

LiminRating, 5 stars4 months ago
The house looks better than the photo, the scenery around is very beautiful, Helga is very warm and personally picked us up, and we opened the door to catch the aurora, and it is red and green aurora, if you want to see the aurora, this house is a good choice, if the next chance we will stay again.
A simple one-story house is shown with a black corrugated roof and light-colored exterior walls. A pathway leads to the front door, flanked by green hedges. A parked blue car is visible to the left of the image.

Welcoming and cosy

JenniferRating, 5 stars60 months ago
Clean and comfortable home in the middle of Vik. A short walk to a wonderful burger joint/brewery and the Lava show. This place was ideal for our family with our toddler because it was all one level, a few toys were available and crib and high chair were also available for our use. We hope to visit again.

It was a great apartment, the three of us felt very comfortable. The location is great, right on the stall, yet a little secluded, so you have your peace and quiet.

Perspective, Cozy vacation home in the craters

FionaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This has been my favourite ever AirBnB; the family's kindness is ASTONISHING. On our first night we managed to get the car lodged in a snow drift - Audur's father in law and her sister Edda appeared out of the blizzard to rescue us. (Note to future guests - get Audur's mobile number so you can stay in contact for guidance at arrival, this place is hard to find, especially in the snow.) Edda was incredibly kind, managed to find the phone I'd dropped in the snow, took us to meet the Icelandic ponies (an absolute highlight) and let my kids fuss over the Icelandic sheep dogs / fluffballs. The place itself is cosy and full of thoughtful touches and mementoes of its farming history. While it is a great stepping off point to Skaftafell, Diamond beach etc, the area around Kirkju- itself is absolutely gorgeous, lunar in the snow with beautiful greeny-blue water pools, and I wish we had weeks there, not a couple of days. This is definitely the place to fall in love with rural Iceland.

Black Beach Suites

NatalieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This Airbnb was absolutely perfect. You’re in the mountains, overlooking the ocean, with the black sand beach minutes away. The hostel located on the grounds was so cute and fun and served as a great place to hang out, eat, and play games. The bathroom had heated floors (which were incredible), there’s a little mud room before entering the place that is a great place to leave all of your sandy, snowy, and windblown clothes and shoes before climbing into bed. An oversight on our part was that we didn’t realize they didn’t have an oven, only a microwave and a small stove top. There’s limited restaurants in the area so make sure to plan accordingly if you want to cook at home.
