Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Shimotakai District

We stayed for 2 nights and it was a very good experience. The house was exactly like the photos or even better.The owner's responses were very quick and enthusiastic! One day we needed to schedule a taxi, but there was no more car. They drove right to help us into the city and really appreciate it. The house offers a free parking lot and is a short distance from the house.The house was also very clean, plus the bathroom with the natural hot spring, which was really extravagant. The kitchen was fully equipped so we could cook a delicious dinner inside the house. The living room is also traditional Japanese style, this one is hard to see in other houses! I would highly recommend this house to all.

We had a lovely stay at this property. Very clean and roomy for 4 adults. Having a car was essential to reach restaurants/groceries.

I visited with 4 adults with dogs and one child, but it was a very nice villa without feeling narrow or inconvenient (* ^ ^ *) Even in the summer, it was chilly and comfortable at night, and the sauna was great. Thank you for greeting the president himself! We look forward to hosting you again.

We have been looking forward to this trip for some time. On the way, one of our dogs became ill and Fukuda san kept in touch to ensure that we arrived safely. His wife even made sure that our veterinarian visit went smoothly personally. You cannot ask for a better host who make you feel welcomed and treat you like family. We had to cut our stay short but Fukuda san again proactively helped us by adjusting our stay. We will remember your kindness forever. We don’t know how to thank you. We will definitely be back, not only to stay at the dog and dog lovers paradise but also to visit with dear dear friends!

Private, peaceful, pet friendly lodging with good amenities, including a V60 for coffee. Accessible to Niigata landmarks, like the Dragondola and the Veranda. definitely worth revisiting in ski season!

Beautiful, restful and nice in green season. Bigger than the pictures show. We enjoyed the really well equipped kitchen. Hosts were accessible and helpful, but not overbearing.

There were no other houses around, and I really relaxed without worrying about anyone else! I was surprised by the existence of a treehouse.We had a pleasant time eating breakfast and tea at the treehouse. We'd love to visit!

In the extreme heat of the Kanto Plain area above 35 degrees Celsius, there is no need for air conditioning.I was refreshed in a quiet setting surrounded by trees.The king size bed was also very comfortable.Thank you for your kindness!

Great place to stay with a large group! We were a group of 28 people, and the villa was perfect for us. It’s located near several ski slopes, making it incredibly convenient. The host went above and beyond by warming up the villa before our arrival, so we felt cozy and comfortable as soon as we stepped inside. The villa is spacious and equipped with all the amenities we needed. Everyone was completely satisfied with their stay. We would be thrilled to have the opportunity to stay here again in the future. From the moment I arrived, everything was smooth and easy. The place was sparkling clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I could ask for. The kitchen/ living space was fantastic!! Also the bath! Overall, this was one of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve had, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, hassle-free stay.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Tani House. The host welcomed us personally and gave us lots of tips for restaurants and things to do in the area. She was always available if we had additional questions or requests. As for the house, although it is an old traditional house, the beautiful renovation makes it so it is very comfortable and offers any facility you may need. It was a joy to spend time in the house and its design. A plus was the river that was perfect for swimming and only a 3 minute walk. It is perfect for exploring both the Yuzawa and the Tokamachi area. Highly recommend staying here.

Gabriel is a great host, very responsive. The building is as advertised, not that even the "western beds" are really just wooden platforms for Japanese futon beds. All bedrooms are tatami and the futons provided I would rate as better than average for most ryoken-style air bnb properties. Location: It is one building is a row of older, dated former Ryoken hotels that are now mostly AirBnB rentals. Making sure you're going in the correct property take a minute to double check. Highly recommend getting Gabriel's short check-in video and watching that just before you arrive at the property for the first time, that makes it super easy and shows you just what you need to know. This is located on the Yuzawa Kogen base area. You are not going to ski anywhere from your door. It is a about a 500 meter walk down to the Yuzawa Kogen ropeway which services lifts at the top of the mountain. You can however ski down to the property at the end of the day from the top of Yuzawa Kogen.
