Felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect, central to everything but quiet and peaceful. Walking distance to great food spots, grocery stores, bath houses, and super accessible to all the sites in Kyoto and public transportation. The inn has a communal vibe, so you have access to a well-stocked big open kitchen with free tea service, and dining area which makes it feel like family at meal times. The heat, water pressure, and wifi worked perfectly. Free access to bikes. Safe and private for solo female travelers like myself. There's even an area with free second-hand clothing in case you need an extra layer. Everyone respects the quiet of the building so it doesn't feel like loud hostel situation. Tadashi was lovely, the perfect host in all the ways- good-humored, helpful, kind, responsive, warm. I can't say enough good things about my stay. I only hope that I can return again very soon.

Great place in a beautiful area. The place itself is roomy and is perfect for 4-5 people. The entire place was squeaky clean and organized. The shower is awesome with a nice bath if needed. Great amenities to cook if needed (cooked wagyu a few times). Easy access via elevator or stairs to your room. Nearby trail for running and biking. River for sightseeing. ln a prime area near many train stations to get you to other cities (Keihan Line is a 5 minute walk and Kyoto Station is a 15-20min walk). Small businesses nearby for food and drinks. Host was pleasant and responsive when needed. Overall, this is a diamond find and highly recommend to others if you're staying in Kyoto.

I thought the check-in process was more complicated than I thought, but I was able to use it comfortably with the host's quick response and kindness. Really good accommodation for the price.

Great host: responsive on text msgs, provides free fruits/snacks everyday. Perfect location: quiet, so close (5 mins walk) to department stores, shopping streets, restaurants, etc. Great facilities especially the kitchen, which has everything I need with clear instruction. I would come back to this Airbnb if I visit Kyoto again.

Our stay with Yoshimi was amazing! Her communication leading up to our stay was great and she was incredibly helpful! The house was nice and tidy and in a great location !

I chose a nearby place from Osaka, and I was attracted to the cheapness of staying for consecutive nights. I had a relaxing summer vacation with a Michigan cruise, club Harrier, and Aeon. There was plenty of space with 2 adults, 1 child.There was a retro public bath nearby within 1 minute, so I slowly soaked in hot water. In the morning, I went to a nearby coffee shop and a 5-minute drive to the lake morning.It was a quick drive to anything. The temperature was too hot to walk nearby, etc. On the second day, the room was cleaned, and I had a pleasant time in a clean room.It was really simple, but it was clean.The kids spent a lot of time watching YouTube on the projector. Thank you very much for your kindness and♪ very pleasant owner.

great place and beautiful surroundings

You are literally paying for everything you can bring a house, a kitchen, washing machine, private bathroom, and of course, tailored to a Japanese motel, the aesthetics and cleanliness amazed me, I would definitely come back

It was just perfect. The area was lively during the day and then quiet again in the evening. There are two train stations right next door, which makes you very flexible and means you can get into the city quickly. You should be aware that there is a railway crossing nearby that makes a bit of noise, but that wasn't so bad for me. If I lived in Kyoto, I would definitely be very happy living in this apartment. If I come back to Kyoto, I will book the same apartment again.

This place was beyond our expectations! The place was way nicer and spacious than the photos! My husband and I stayed at Taketo’s place for almost one month. It’s great place for my husband to work remotely and a great place for me when I was on my long vacation. We both enjoyed how quiet and peaceful the surrounding made us feel. The subway station was a few minutes away. We almost couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have found Taketo’s unit. Because we had such wonderful experience here, we have decided to come back again next year! Thank you so much Taketo for your hospitality! We couldn’t say enough how much we loved our stay!

Eri-san was really helpful and checked in to make sure everything was comfortable. The area is close by the station while also being far enough from all the chaos of tourists. Although there are tracks nearby, the train passes smoothly without disturbance. It also makes for comfortavle viewing if you enjoy watching trains passing by. There is also a wonderful view of the river from the area which at night illuminates the sky and lighting along the way. The space is good and the surroundings are peaceful, I would like to stay again. Be aware though that due to Kyoto's accomadation tax, it will be 200円 a night extra. That unfortunately is out of the control of the owner and is more so on the local government. Aside from that one drawback, I can definitely reccomend for the stay. Aside from other places that offer a stay and the room feeling stale, the room decor is cozy and feels lively. Full marks for the wonderful space and area. For hosting us, Thank you.

My first time using Airbnb in any country The gentleman were very helpful and actually stood outside, so the taxi driver could find the place to help me. I’m a senior… very kind and generous. The place was just right for me to sleep, have my food and take a shower… I spent a lot of time walking. It was very easy to get to everything I needed on foot… wonderful!!!! I plan on coming back and staying here! I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy Kyoto in a central location and is very peaceful. I had one initial personal issue and the gentlemen did respond and solved it promptly Thanks 1 million I look forward to stay in your sweet petite apartment again for a longer time period I wish you continued success! You are doing a terrific job (I’ve been a landlady for 26 years, so I know what wonderful hosts are and you are that!)

Ken was awesome. Amazing communication and awesome location within 5 minutes from major train lines and 10-15 minutes walk from a bulk of the touristy things and restaurants you'll have on your list. The shower was different but functional. No complaints. We really only used the apartment to sleep - didn't spend much time there. It was too cold to use the patio but it was a decent size and had a nice view of the river. Ken gave some great suggestions and was extremely responsive.

This apartment was the perfect stay for us in Kyoto. It was very comfortable and clean with plenty of space. Yoshimi was very kind to work with, accommodating our arrival time so nicely, and we really enjoyed our stay!

Great place however wasn’t aware washing machine and dryer was paid and shared. Also had to pay 200pp/night for accommodation tax

A lovely place to stay. The area to the north (Gion) was beautiful, though expensive and very full of westerners. The areas to the west and south were simply lovely though. Especially walking along the river and canal at night.

We had a wonderful stay, Seth offered recommendations for the local area and was very responsive to any questions. The house itself was perfect for our stay with older children. The rooftop bath was a beautiful way to finish the day with the Kyoto skyline as my view! Would definitely love to return if we are ever back in Kyoto.

A very nice location to stay at while in Kyoto. Only about a 15 minute walk from Kyoto station and Sanjo metro station only about a 3 minute walk giving you an easy connection to the rest of the city. The wooden cypress bath was so relaxing and nice to soak in after a long day of walking. The outdoor bath was also very nice but being 6'2" (188cm) I couldn't really sit in it comfortably for too long. The apartment has basically everything you may need during your stay and check in was very straightforward and easy. Highly recommend!

Nori and Fumi were absolutely amazing, from the beginning to the end! They even received our luggages ahead of time and picked us up from the train station. The apartment was beyond our expectations; the bed was so comfortable and the biggest one we had in Japan, spacious living space and kitchen. The ability to do laundry was just icing on the cake! Breakfast was served every morning and it was delicious! Nori gave us an option of doing a traditional Japanese or American breakfast at the cool cafe. The location was right outside of the chaos of Kyoto but very close to the train/bus, restaurants, conventions stores, etc. Fumi took us to a local spot every morning and dropped us off closer to where we wanted to be and gave us recs! The experience with Fumi and Nori was just invaluable. We long to come back and visit them as they are just the most wonderful humans! It was great getting to know them and making new friends in Japan; they added so much to our trip. Thank you so much

Had a great stay at this inn. The comfy beds were a highlight after sleeping some recent nights on thin futons. The place doesn’t have a lot of natural light but this was well made up for by the attention to detail with lighting and decor (including e nice bathroom) which made it feel really cosy. Nice bathroom. Short walk to Gion area and train stations. Host very responsive, always replying within 10 mins, and accommodated some late requests for our booking which was much appreciated.
