Vacation rentals with a kayak in Salt Spring Island

We had a wonderful time at Shawnigan Lake, staying in Todd's beautiful cottage! It was perfectly situated right on the lake, with a fantastic dock space perfect for swimming and other activities. We were close to the train trestle, a lovely walking/running trail, a restaurant with a picturesque lake view, and a corner store for quick purchases. Grocery stores were about 15-20 minute drive away. All in all it was an incredible place to vacation for an active family! Thank you so much Todd!

Very grateful to have discovered this gem. It was particularly well suited to a group of couples who know each other well and were looking for fun weekend together/ retreat-style. The house has lots of spaces for various activities (large well-equipped kitchen, table for puzzles, sofas by a cozy wood fireplace, downstairs arcade and pool table, lovely backyard, forest or beach walks nearby... and also enough room to get some space from each other, go take a nap. (We all slept well on the super mattresses.) Steve and Carly couldn't have been more responsive or kinder as hosts. Truly a pleasure. We'll be back for another weekend!

Nice location on lake. Large deck on the back of house with lake views. Large dock with easy water access. Quiet location at end of the road so no road noise. Sean is friendly and will greet you at arrival, gives interesting history about the house and is responsive.

We had a weekend on the lake at Scott’s! The place was cozy during the snowy weekend. Beautiful lakefront spot with incredible outdoor area that you can enjoy year round. The hot tub was great to relax in and look over the lake. Would absolutely come back here again!

Our stay at Gavin’s place was perfect. We had plenty of room for our group. The house was comfortable, well appointed, comfortable beds and had everything we needed and more. Gavin was super responsive to all my questions, he is a great host. Thank you Gavin! Highly recommend this home when staying in Shawnigan Lake. Lots to do, and we had fun adventuring around. Would love to come back in the summer.

The place was great and wanting for nothing. Very clean and comfortable and had everything to accommodate a big group. The kitchen was especially well equipped. The hosts were very welcoming, generous, and accommodating. It was lovely that we could arrive earlier in the day and relax in the morning with a later check out. We loved the “single lady” chickens and being able to gather eggs in the morning. The hot tub was a great size for a large group, very clean and well maintained. Comfy beds as well. Thanks for a delightful weekend for our Bookgroup!

We came to visit our son who was having surgery. We got caught in the highly unusual February heavy snow, but April responded quickly to get us help. Great place w big beautiful view of lake, Terrific kitchen. Two levels to house. We didn’t check out the hot tub, sauna, pool and lake access due to weather, but they looked great,

We had a great long weekend at Gloria’s cottage. The marina was beautiful to look over and the general store was convenient for basics. The staff were friendly and very helpful for recommendations around the island.

An amazing, well equipped cabin overlooking a pristine lake. The cabin is central to the island making it ideal to stay at while exploring Salt Spring! We were able to cook a full meal thanks to the thoughtful stocked kitchen and amenities! Ashley was a delight to communicate and even before we left we agreed we'd return someday.

We loved our stay! Our hosts were responsive and accommodating of our large group. Everything was great and we’d loved to stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carmen's Cottage. It was a great place for peace and quiet, as well as a good location to explore nearby attractions of this area. The cottage felt like home, with a comfortable interior and plenty of outdoor space! Thanks to Carmen for sharing her place!

The cottage and surrounding area was extremely peaceful and absolutely beautiful. I recommend coming out here if you want true relaxation

We had an absolutely lovely family Thanksgiving at Wine Down, due in large part to the very well equipped kitchen, large dining table, cozy atmosphere, great variety of board games and responsiveness of the host! Check in and out times were very flexible, taking the pressure and rush off of our family time. Super responsive host with great information. Even though Point Roberts isn’t typically considered a fall or winter destination location, it proved to be the perfect spot and the perfect clean, cozy, spacious home for our family holiday. With its proximity to pretty robust Canadian towns, the local wildlife (bald eagles!), friendly townsfolk and 5 star host, would happily stay at Wine Down again!

This is our third year returning to Maple Ridge Cottages and we will absolutely be back again. Salt Spring Island is beautiful and very peaceful. We felt right at home in the cabin we booked. It was spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. Convenient location and seamless check-in made it a perfect choice for a comfortable getaway. Travelling with a small child isn’t always easy, but Ashley and Bill always make it all so easy from the checkin to the checkout. We even noticed the child sized picnic table had been put on the deck of the cabin we booked. Such thoughtful thinking! Last and certainly not least, we asked to extend our stay - and Ashley and Bill accommodated this extend and were very fair. Bill came by a few times and was lovely to speak with in person. While we were unloading he came and introduced himself to us and told us ways we could get in touch throughout our stay if we needed to. We felt very taken care of. Thank you Ashley and Bill!

The cottage is amazing, direct access to the beautiful lake. There are boats, kayaks or stand-up paddle boards for free including life jackets. The kitchen is very well equipped and the hosts are super friendly and supportive. We had an amazing time here and we can totally recommend this cottage to everyone.

Trevor’s place is such a lovely spot. We felt right at home! It’s spacious but cozy. The view is great and made sitting by the fire so scenic. We absolutely loved it.

We loved our stay and wished we had planned a longer trip. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We can’t wait to come back.

The cabin was beautiful, clean, and had a gorgeous view of the lake. The bedroom had a great private view of the forest, which was really lovely to wake up to. We especially loved the BBQ and wood-burning stove, which made the evenings super cozy! The cabin had all the essentials and more; we enjoyed flipping through the gorgeous table books provided too. We look forward to returning in warmer (less rainy/snowy) weather when we could use the outdoor fire pit and sit on the dock. The property and lake are extremely peaceful. Of note - there are no window coverings in the main living area which can be seen from other cabins, so we wouldn’t have wanted to have someone sleep on the couch. It worked perfectly for just the two of us though.

Easy self check-in, beautifully decorated cabin right on the lake. Would definitely stay here again, it’s even better than the pictures!
