This is a little bit of heaven. If you're looking for somewhere to get away from everything (but still have enough to do), somewhere quiet (but still with lots going on) and somewhere that feels like a world away from stress and fuss (but still with Angoulême 30 minutes' drive away), you've found it. The house is spacious, warm and welcoming. There's everything you need (including a bottle of red when we arrived!) and restaurants and bars are less than 5 minutes' walk away. The dock at the back of the house on the river may be the best place ever to enjoy a coffee and watch the ducks or open a bottle in the evening. The best place we've found to de-stress. Love it.

Lovely place to stay, and pool very good. Small disadvantage that you can’t sit out in the sun in the evenings as outside space is on the other side of the building to the pool, but Paula a great host and very flexible/responsive to questions etc. Lots to do in the area. Would stay again.

My time at Le Petite Chouette was utterly magical. I stayed for a month and fully recharged my soul in this peaceful, beautiful spot surrounded by nature. Ania and Mark are so kind and attentive, and the gite has everything you could possible imagine for your comfort and well-being. The kitchen has everything you might need for cooking, and my favorite part is the bed, as it was more comfortable than hotel beds with crisp fresh linens and even an electric blanket for a cozy night. I’ll never forget my peaceful evenings in front of the fire (thank you for generously supplying wood!) my long walks to chateau Lavauguyon and the village, excursions to Site de Peyrassoulat, my visits to the contemporary art and meteorite museums in Rochechouart, and my lovely chats with Ania, Mark, their sweet dogs, and the chickens! I am forever grateful for what this stay has done for my spirit! I highly recommend this place if you want deep rest!

Friendly small accommodation with all amenities in a small medieval town where it is nice to walk around. Impeccable cleanliness including in common areas. only downside street parking is only to unload luggage and groceries. Apartment overlooking a busy street but still well isolated from the noise of closed windows. Thanks to Elodie for her hospitality and ease of transaction.

Large family house very well equipped inside and out. We were 11 adults, lots of space, very good bedding, cooking utensils and very many dishes. Everything is made to make you feel good, books, games, bikes, foosball, ping pong, large swimming pool and above all a perfect bocce court😉. A welcome gift that we enjoyed very much....a very good weekend with friends, was only missing the nice weather for it to be perfect ☀️
