Pam was a great host. She was exceptionally quick to respond. She and her husband were very friendly. The house had great views of the lake, river and wetlands. We could even see an active eagle nest. The horses and chickens were an added bonus! There are neighbors but it was still pretty quiet. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a nice stay. We would not hesitate to return.

Kenneth’s property was absolutely phenomenal. Not only was it a short drive to family events in Quincy, it also provided everything anyone could ask for in a rental property. The house was spotless and felt like new inside! The decor and style was up to date and felt cozy. We ended up running into quite a logistical pickle the day before we were meant to arrive, and Kenneth accommodated and took gracious care of us. As it was cold, we didn’t have a chance to utilize the hot tub, outside seating, or the screened in porch. Even without enjoying those awesome amenities, we felt like staying at the property was WELL WORTH THE MONEY!! Thanks to Kenneth, we were able to turn a stressful situation into an enjoyable care-free little vacation. If you are going to be in the Quincy/Hannibal/Keokuk area and are in need of a wonderful place to call home while you are away from yours, this is the place for you!!

What a beautiful, thoughtful, and peaceful place. It’s evident memories and care - for the cabin, the neighbors, the land, and the guests - fill this place. The beds and quiet environment provided deep rest. The comfortable and secure porch provided peaceful contemplation and happy memories. Kitchen was well-appointed - utensils & dishes, Keurig, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, electric griddle - it even had a blender & fire-roasting tongs (for cooking s’mores & hot dogs over the well-designed campfire outside!) Easy to navigate to and check-in instructions were clear & reliable. Nice water pressure in shower & plenty of hot water. Several great places to hike nearby (Siloam Springs & Weinberg-King state parks) and cool tourist attractions (e.g., working Dutch windmill in Golden). But also an easy TV set-up for chilling at the cabin. Make sure to read the guest guide & awesome guest book! Dog owners: -plenty of space for crate -porch has secure gates -lead on stake in yard

This is a hidden gem. Our stay was so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed the view of the lake, the cleanliness of the house, quiet location, cozy wood-burning stove, and we spent the evenings soaking in the hot tub. Everything was perfect. Not sure who had a more enjoyable stay—us or the dogs.

We stay here all the time. Look forward to staying again. Everything is on point.

I can’t say enough good things about Paula’s home. We had a small family reunion for my daughter’s 16th birthday and it was the perfect gathering space! Breakfast was amazing and Paula was wonderful.

We loved our stay! We had a big group and actually found ourselves with way more room than we needed! The kids loved having the downstairs space to play foosball and watch movies. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. The porch and yard space was also spacious. The proximity to the Nauvoo Temple is unmatched as well as the added benefit of being right beside a gas station and dollar general without feeling like you are in a busy party of town. We loved our stay!

Neat property for our family ages 8-80. Master suite is only accessible via spiral staircase, so not advised for young children or the elderly. Nonetheless, it is a luxurious perch! Windows throughout home provide stunning 360° views. March weather did not allow use of the outdoor spaces that add to the experience (decks, screened porch, fire pit) but there was plenty of space inside for all. Kitchen is well-stocked and cabinets are nicely labeled. Built-in oven is small and cooktop space is limited so plan meals accordingly. Really nice lower level bedrooms, bath, and recreation area. Moreover, host was very communicative and accomadating!
