Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Rockingham County

Alex was SO FRIENDLY and easy to communicate with. And oh my, was this place magical. Alex’s home was tastefully designed and immaculately clean. My partner and I spent the days skiing at the Massanutten Resort and the evenings playing ping pong and air hockey and then hibernating in the comfy master bedroom. So much fun and we had the absolute best sleep either of us have had in months. I feel so rejuvenated after coming here, I will definitely bring the kids next time to check out the enormous water park that is basically across the street. This was bar none the best DC getaway I’ve had in the past several years. Thank you SO much Alex!!

This home was absolutely beautiful, pictures truly do not do it justice. It was very cozy, with a spectacular view of the mountains. The house was clean, and the host, Beth was very responsive, and even reached out to us, warning us of inclement weather. The host truly thought of everything to make the stay the best it could be, all drawers were labeled with utensils, there was firewood cut, stacked ready for the guest to use, and evening an outdoor heater to warm up the garage to play games. We will definitely be back!

This unit is on the western end of a series of duplexes named Senedo Springs. The gravel roads up here are very walkable. It’s possible to trek down to Lake Laura although it’s a big vertical climb back up. The unit is airy and nice, better than the pictures. Thankfully there is not actually a murphy bed in the living room as shown in the pictures. The blankets are outdated so I recommend bringing your own. Plenty of cookware and dishes available but you’ll need to bring oil, spices, and all other food items. The amenities are great! It’s also nice they provide firewood just a short walk away. Good view of Great North Mountain in the winter. Amazing night sky from this location. This was our second time staying here and it kept its five-star rating!

Wonderful! We got snowed in for a bit but it was cozy inside and such a beautiful setting. A kind neighbor plowed the snow from behind our vehicle, ensuring we could travel safely. Thank you! Great kitchen, well equipped even to the detail of offering to-go cups if needed. Quick response time from hostess.

This was a comfortable home for our group of four adults and three children. Mark was responsive to all requests and check in and arrival was easy thanks to the detailed instructions. The kitchen was very well stocked, lots of lates, cutting boards, pots and pans, etc. allowed to cook meals at the home.

Highly recommend booking this place especially if you are going snowboarding/skiing close by. Very spacious/well equipped accommodations and host is great with communication. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

We highly recommend booking Steve's place! His place looks exactly like the photos, was comfortable, felt like home and the sauna was great! Steve was also a kind host! Just a note that there are a few stairs for the entrance and indoors, but there is a bedroom on the main level with the bathroom - we loved our stay! Thank you, Steve!

My family and I loved staying at Maya’s place! She literally has everything you’d need plus really special small other details that went above and beyond. The location was perfect, the house was super clean, the welcome basket was so special, and even included two robes! The hot tub was so clean and ready to go. We loved every minute of it!

Paula’s place is just as described - spacious and welcoming! Very clean and has everything you would need during your stay. Easy to find and 10mins from JMU (we were there to visit with our son). Paula is a very friendly and responsive host. Would definitely stay here again!

Cat’s place was perfect for a weekend escape! The view was gorgeous! I loved sitting on the patio and reading while listening to the creek in the backyard. My dog loved getting to run around and explore! Definitely can’t wait to come back!

I was looking for a nice mountain getaway and I feel like I found exactly that. The suite is part of a series of buildings/cabins at the end of a gravel driveway. The mountains are very pretty as you arrive. The suite itself was rustic but nicely equipped. I felt like I had everything I needed and it was very clean. There was a pond and walkable paths also. Great chance to explore Shenandoah National Park and Charlottesville also! If you need a place to stay in this area I felt like it was a good choice. Nice outdoor seating area also.

My family of four stayed for two nights with our dog at Brooke’s place. Leading up to the trip, we all had been sick and Brooke kindly allowed us to push our reservation a day for no additional charge as we were getting back to health. The condo is within walking distance to the slopes which was great for us to ski and then head back to the condo for lunch and breaks. Knowing there is not many options for food near by, we came prepared to eat all our meals at the condo. Kitchen had all we needed with the exception of a dish washer. The bed was comfortable and the pull out sofa and Murphy bed good enough considering. The heating/cooling system was a bit of an inconvenience. We could not adjust the heat with the thermostats which for us were set to warm, and instead had to run wall ac units (in January) to regulate the temperature. Not the best set up but we made it work. Overall, the condo for the price point was a good pick for us to bring our dog and be close to slopes.

The unit was very cozy and clean. The pillows were super comfortable. The bathroom and shower were a bit smaller than we expected, but overall it was a nice visit for a weekend away, close to Bryce Resort.

This place was absolutely amazing me and my boyfriend only stayed a few days but if we’re ever back in town this will be the first place I look to see if it’s available. The bed was so comfortable and everything was very clean. The view is absolutely stunning.
