The Firkin Lodge

TiagoRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Myself and partner had a brilliant stay at firkin lodge. The place was absolutely spotless and very cozy. Private hot tub was a bonus. Great to have tea, coffee, milk, condiments and shower gel etc to use while you’re there. Pub next door also owned by John was a lovely traditional pub with great food and drink and welcoming atmosphere. John was a great guy, very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay to get away from all the hustle and bustle, will definitely return.

We absolutely loved our stay. The cabin was cozy and well stocked, and kept pristine. The farm land surrounding the cabin was so beautiful. We even had a lovely cat friend visit us during our stay! Highly recommend!! it’s even better than the photos! I couldn’t have been more impressed with the attention to detail & over all thought that goes into your stay. We felt so at home we didn’t want to leave & will 100% be returning! Alex & Liz couldn’t have been any more welcoming & made us feel right at home upon arrival. Although surrounded by beautiful countryside & an array of local pubs & restaurants nearby we didn’t feel the need to leave the cabin :) Spotlessly clean & all essentials provided! Absolutely loved our weekend away

Booked this BnB to celebrate my 30th birthday with my partner and a couple of best friends and could not be happier we booked this lovely cabin! It was a fantastic stay and a perfect getaway. Without a doubt, the hot tub was the highlight of the stay which was very easy to use and was already ready for us to jump in as soon as we got there. John was an excellent host. He was so helpful throughout our stay and replied instantly. Would definitely return!

Wood Cabin with hot tub under the stars

KristinRating, 5 stars6 months ago
John was a great host, he welcomed us and was very friendly and communicated from the start. The lodge is so peaceful, quiet and scenic. The amenities are great, only suggestion would be some light blankets as it gets cold and they would have been nice to sit outside with. We didn't stay long, only 2 nights, would happily have stayed longer and would deffo come again for race days. Lovely local pub 2-3 min walk away the Red Lion, beautiful food and staff were friendly.

LUXURY CABIN ON THE NORFOLK/CAMBS BORDER

AimyRating, 5 stars2 days ago
The best place we have stayed at via Airbnb, Louise and Simon had thought of everything needed and myself and my partner were able to just relax at the romantic retreat without needing to go anywhere. We felt right at home, enjoyed the hot tub, the bed and sofa was comfy and the privacy of the place was just what we had hoped. Tasty welcome hamper provided too! The craftsmanship and finer details, even down to the slabs of the path leading up to the retreat, shows that this is a place that has been done properly. Returning in the Summer for a full week as a long weekend there wasn't quite enough. Nice to be away and relaxed in such a thoughtful environment. The photos on here are what initially drew us in, but they don't do it justice. The description is right too, not overlooked in any direction :)

BLUEBELL

IanRating, 5 stars19 months ago
Great stay at Stretton Lakes. The other cabins seemed to be utilised by people making use of the fishing lake, but our children loved the hot tub, tennis courts and the odd game of football on the grass. Stretton Lakes was a great base for the area - the local (gastro) pub, kayaking on Rutland Water, villages/ towns like Stamford and even a theme park for the kids.

We had a lovely time, even in winter when the rain was pouring! It's cosy and clean, close to Rutland water if you want to visit. I'm originally from Rutland and we were visiting family, it's a short journey to Oakham, Uppingham, Rutland water, close to amenities. It was great to have the dog with us and our 5-year-old. We will be booking again!

Tallington Lake Retreat

ElainaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Great little getaway in a lovely park-like location on a beautiful lake. If you like watersports, this is the place for you! (We were in the area to visit family, so we didn’t partake in any water sports). Very well appointed lodge with everything you need. A couple minor issues (eg. couldn’t find a remote) were dealt with quickly. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway or family vacation.

Self Contained Annexe in Garden

JohnRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This accommodation is perfect for a visit to Cambridge. It is an easy walk into the center of town and buses are plentiful, if preferred. It is situated on a main road so transport is easy, but is at the back of the property so is quiet and private. There are plenty of good pubs and restaurants in the local area, as well as takeaways and grocery stores. The cooking facilities provided are basic but work so self catering is also an option. Bernie is an approachable host and replies to messages promptly. His local knowledge is great and he is willing to make recommendations.

Alan was very helpful, friendly and accomodating. Him and Theresa went above and beyond to help us find the location and check in comfortably. They helped us with our food and were very easy-going hosts. Me and my partner had a great New Years Eve in their lovely home which was cosy and comfortable with scenic surdoundings. I would definately recommend Alan and would consider it a 10/10 stay and experience!
