Had a lovely weekend staying here with my mum. If you drive it was perfect - just outside Keswick/close to so many beautiful walks. Even though the place is an annexe to their house we felt private and undisturbed. Squeaky clean and comfortable with everything you might need. The view to the mountains from the porch was unbeatable. Would stay again!

Beautiful warm clean accommodation . The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in. Bathroom was large, very clean and hot water. Julie left us a wide choice of breakfast including vegan, lovely. Very private and quiet, parking. Attention to detail was great “sheep” .

Such a gorgeous little home away from home. Had everything you needed for winding down after a day exploring the surrounding area. Breakfast was left for the morning as well as milk and butter, which was a added bonus. Perfect distance to take a hike in the lakes or explore Lancaster. Would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area. Truly beautiful!

Due to a family medical emergency it was a very last minute booking. Helen was very communicative and helpful. Had to spend some time in hospital with dad and the hosts kept an eye on my dog and even walked him. Way above what was expected/

Fantastic location and a welcoming host. The kids loved staying in a castle. Cosy and had everything we needed for a short stay. A great base for lots of activities in the area.

Perfect base for exploring area. Stayed for a couple of nights in half term with 3 children and dog. We visited Corbridge and Hexham on the way up , a day for Vindolanda , the Roman museum and from Walltown country park we did a walk up along the wall. Last day we went for another walk along wall taking in sycamore gap. Worked around the weather, couple of showers coinciding with pub lunch and museum. Great views and relaxing break. Kids loved helping feeding the animals and thank you for the fresh eggs! Cottage comfortable with games, plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs double room, room with a double and a single and another single partioned off with wooden folding door. Thanks for a lovely break.

A lovely cosy cottage for a base in the northern Lake District. Sonia was responsive from the word go, answering all my questions and made sure to check in multiple times during my month long stay. The cottage has everything you need. Kitchen has only countertop appliances but there's a double hob, air fryer, oven and microwave. The counter top oven was so efficient, better than my built in one at home for sure! Lounge is comfortable, heating keeps the place very cosy and the little woodburner is great for the colder evenings. Sonia and Lee are on hand to provide logs and there is a drinks fridge and snacks set up like a mini bar inside which is a lovely touch. A great location for exploring Caldbeck, Keswick, Penrith areas. Lovely hikes around Caldbeck and Keswick is a very scenic 30 minute drive away. There is a little community run shop 5 mins down the road in Hesket Newmarket and for the big shop Penrith is just 15 mins away. So convenient to access from the motorway.

Me and my partner had a great stay at Louisa’s apartment! Louisa was super welcoming and accommodating. Great location for local restaurants and near to loads of great walks in the Lakes. Will definitely recommend and hopefully be back again!

Lilia is up there in being one of the kindest, most proactive hosts we've had - faultless! Their conversion is stunning, nicely built, kept clean with homely touches that make you feel welcome and just happy to be there. We'd absolutely stay again!

Right up there with the very best places we’ve stayed in (and we’ve stayed in lots). Fantastic accommodation in beautiful surroundings with friendly, helpful and charming hosts. Lots to see and do in the area with brilliant walks in a quieter part of the Lake District. If you are looking to be in the area or just want to stay somewhere stunning then what more could you want.

Me and my partner had a great stay at Emma and George’s property. It was a perfect relaxing end to a long day on the fells. The communication and instructions where fanatic through out our stay and we hope to stay again in the future.

Susan was an absolutely fabulous host. Very friendly and attentive. The place and surroundings are just as described absolutely beautiful. This place is so peaceful and tranquil. We will definitely be back. Susans ducks are super cute and friendly

I recently stayed at an Airbnb in Carlisle, and I have to say, it was probably one of the best experiences I’ve had! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with the attention to detail and the warm welcome from the host. The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I especially loved the cozy atmosphere of the living room. The kitchen was fully stocked, and there were even thoughtful touches like fresh orange juice, fruit, and milk.

This is our second stay. It was booked last minute to break up a long drive. Marj was extremely responsive with the last minute request, and the fresh eggs, milk, juice and pastries were a hit. The space is always clean, warm and very welcoming. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area, especially if you are a fan of animals! Look forward to staying here again!

This is the 2nd time staying at Emma’s , I stayed last year around the same time. The cottage is tucked away in the countryside not far from Penrith and the M6 motorway, it’s such a peaceful location. When I got there just after 3pm the cottage was warm and very cleans, in fact spotless !. The kitchen and bathroom use quality fittings and the walk in shower is wonderful (I must get one in my home). The bed is very nice, the mattress is perfect has is the bedding. The tv is small but has a brilliant picture and has a hdmi port for a streaming stick if you have one also the DAB radio is great . The biggest surprise is the speed of the wifi I got about 450mbps down and the same up, not what you expect in the countryside !. Emma left me a pint of milk,bread, homemade cake and a bottle of wine. Last year I stayed 3 nights but this time I stayed 5 nights which tells you everything !

Had a wonderful week staying in the Spinney. The location is perfect - away from everything it gives the chance to relax and reset. Plenty of wildlife about for nature lovers - it’s a paradise! Lovely walks and lakes nearby as well as some nice small towns all within driving distance. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others!

Neil and Nic were very welcoming hosts and went out of their way for us. Neil drove us multiple times so we didn’t have to walk to and from Chollerford. The talks in the car were very pleasant and it was a great way to learn about the area and its history. They also helped us out and gave great advice on how we could help ease the pain in our muscles from walking the Hadrian’s Wall Path. Both the beds and the breakfast were very good. The packed lunch they made was very diverse and tasty.

Jo was very responsive by message. She opened the futon and put the heating on before our late arrival. The Store was comfortable, warm and very clean. My friend and I felt homely straight away.

Reg and Lynn were very helpful from start to finish. The house was lovely and the area was beautiful and quiet. Our dogs loved the beach, which was only five minutes walk away. We would definitely come back!

We had a truly lovely stay. The place is so cosy and homely. We were in the area for a festival but would book again for a walking holiday - such a beautiful part of the world and this accommodation is a great base for exploring the lakes. We loved having the coffee machine, the bed was comfy and we felt completely at home. The dogs were super-friendly and cute and the hosts really helpful.
