Farmstay vacation rentals in River Dart

We had a wonderful stay at Bridesmere over New Year and it was just what we needed. Peaceful, beautiful area, lovely comfortable home from home. We appreciated the enclosed garden for our spaniel, the beautiful and spacious bedrooms and the living area which was large enough for all 7 of us, two families. WiFi was strong upstairs so no issue with all of us connected and the tv had all apps we needed to watch films with no buffering. There is a beautiful walk through the forest along the river just minutes from the house which leads to a very nice pub serving good food. As other reviews mention, the kids room smells a little musty/damp but this was not a huge issue and we opened the bathroom window after showering which helped. Kitchen well stocked but knives are a little blunt! Children loved the games barn and not having to bring bikes with us was really helpful and appreciated. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay and we would definitely return. Thank you for having us.

We are a family of 3 and really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful area not too far from all we wanted to visit. Everything you need at the property with a massive garden to explore ! Very clean property with amazing peaceful views of the countryside. Thanks Lisa

Just back from a lovely weekend at the barn. What an amazing location, deep in the national park, peaceful, sceanic and the night sky is something special. Great set up for anyone who wants to go out walking and then come back and settle down to a cosy night in. Great host, really freindly abd helpful. Will be going back!!!

Martinsfield Cottage was a great stay. Heather provided plenty of towels, suitable provisions for tea, coffee etc.. The cottage itself was clean tidy and extremely welcoming. Would definitely consider staying again, or even suggesting to others.

Lovely stay at serendipity, the views are just incredible and the location is spot on. We had the most amazing few days, the house is beautiful and well equipped. Mark was responsive to messages and helpful. Would highly recommend and we can’t wait to return.

Had an amazing stay at Gary and Lisa's for the new year period. Me and my partner came to dartmoor for a nice getaway and walk without breaking the bank. The host's were phenomenal and very proactive in letting us know instructions and making sure we got there and in okay. The place itself was IMMACULATE, not a speck of Dust in sight and was really refreshing to walk into. It's a self contained small home with bathroom (shower) bedroom, living room with television and good WiFi and a kitchen with oven and electric hob and even washer and dryer. (we didn't use these but I'm sure they worked) there's also a conservatory attached with dining table for extra space! the place was lovely, peaceful and remote but around a 10 minute drive from some breathtaking walks at the moors! the price was incredibly reasonable for the area and we would 100% stay again in the future! looking forward to it! couldn't recommend this place enough!

The cottage has been beautifully renovated and is in the middle of nowhere, the view from the hot tub of an evening is exquisite.... The layout is warm and spacious but also with plenty of outside space and walks. Nicky was very helpful prior to check in with very clear instructions, also very quick to help where needed during our stay. On our trip to the cottage we came across a herd of deer which started the magic... We will hopefully return

Sue's place was like a home from home. It had everything we needed and it was clean and cosy. It was in a peaceful location and the only sound we heard was the moos of the cows from the farm. It was the perfect base to explore Hope Cove, Salcombe and Kingsbridge. Had a very enjoyable stay.

This is the most beautiful, tranquil, calming place to spend some time with a loved one. Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Would absolutely recommend 🙂

A fantastic and fun place to stay - our two girls had a great time feeding donkeys and finding eggs from the chickens. Place is really well kitted out, comfy beds etc. We stayed in February and it warmed up quickly and stayed warm. Great location close to Totnes and close but not too close to the roads to go further afield.

A wonderful, peaceful Air BnB! Maria’s place was really spacious and immaculately clean. It’s in a perfect location too, being close to amazing walks, cafes and places to visit all while feeling totally secluded. Highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in South Devon!

Karen’s home was perfect for our needs & had everything you could ask for in order to be self sufficient during a stay. But there were also pubs,restaurants ,a shop in the friendly village(everyone said hello during our walks ). We got in a bit of a pickle trying to find the entrance because of the rush hour traffic but after 2 U-turns we managed to locate the gates & Karen was there to welcome us. The bed was comfortable & the temperature was just right for a frosty February weekend.

Fantastic location, so many walks right from the doorstep & only a short drive to Okehampton for supplies. The cottage was the perfect size for us (2 adults, child & dog) & fully equipped. Lovely having the log fire and with the electric heaters we were kept warm even without the fire. We had a meal at the pub a couple of doors down and visited the village cafe - both highly recommended!! Mark was proactive with communication in making sure the trip went well, thank you for our lovely stay!

The cottage was lovely and clean and had everything that you would ever need. Best nights sleep we’ve had in a long time! Jenni was really helpful during our stay here, gave us lots of recommendations of what to do while staying in Whimple.

We had a great trip away. Family fun with a great host and the tour guide Ralph (springer spaniel) that lead us to the pub and shop when needed. 😂 Highly recommend And can’t wait to return next summer. Thanks Chris, Tracey, Ralph and the rest of the farmyard. 👍

We really love the space, stream was loud when we were there dueto rainfall. The space was tidy and they left us a lovely breakfast, very friendly hosts and let us to our own devices. A great pad to expolre Cornwall, highly recommended.

This is calm peaceful place, heated in the main by a wood burner, with a plentiful supply of wood. It is a great place to get away from it all and Frances is very welcoming.

We had a nice peaceful stay at Garden Cottage. The house was beautiful.,well equipped. very clean.and warm. The hosts husband was very helpful. He even offered us a lift when our car broke down. Overall we very much appreciated everything and would highly recommend this lovely house.

Gorgeous building, in a great location to visit Dartmoor and the nearby towns. Good communication from the friendly hosts, who are nearby for any issues. We had a lovely time!
