Fantastic home base for exploring the northern Kohala coast. Easy access to the food and shops but far enough away that it's very quiet. The pools nearby and good size. Well equipped kitchen and a great space for relaxing at the end of the day.

A downtown gem in the heart of kona

BrennaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This house is perfect if you have folks who are mobility impaired since the downstairs has everything one needs. It's also great for traveling with family or multiple couples since everyone get a bedroom and their own bathroom. The amenities provided were better than most airbnbs and it was walkable to the tourist part of town and a beach and centrally located drivewise between Captain Cook and Waimea. The hosts were warm, helpful, and great to work with. You do need to keep all snacks and drinks in the fridges though bc the sugar ants and other little bugs one finds in the tropics do live in the house but that seems to be a factor of Kona living and not a fault on the property owners. I will definitely be staying here again if I do another family reunion or bring friends! The hosts even had suggestions for someone who does family photography if that interests you.

Turtle House is beach front!

MariekeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We can’t wait to come back! Chris and Nancy’s condo by the ocean was the perfect place for our Hawaii vacation. The beds are super comfy and we had everything we needed, including the little beach right outside the door! Shopping and restaurants are super close by and our five days just flew by. Communication was also easy and good the whole time.

Includes beach gear! 1705 Waikoloa Colony Villas

TatianaRating, 5 stars14 months ago
This is a secure and peaceful gated resort. The unit was clean and comfortable. We had an issue with a dishwasher but had a prompt response and a credit since it was not fixed during our stay because of the holidays. The resort is located in a clean and quiet neighborhood, but there is not much you can do there: it is quite a walk to the ocean and nearby shops, so you definitely need a car to get around and enjoy Hawaii Kona Island. Ocean is only swimmable near Marriott resort, which is a 5 minutes drive. Parking with ocean access is available, but it is another 15-20 minutes walk. There are only a few nice beaches nearby. Hapuna Beach, for example, is 15-20 minutes drive. Other beaches in the area are rocky and dangerous for swimming. The pool in the resort is clean but small and crowded... But overall, we had a good family gathering and did enjoy our vacation.

Waikoloa Colony Villas 403: AC and Shared Pool

CrystalRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Traveled with 2 young kids (2 & 5) and 2 adults. The location was fantastic & close to great beaches & a few shops for the kids. The king bed was very comfortable, the queen was more on the firm side. The place was described accurately in pictures, was pleasantly surprised by how well it was stocked. The kitchen was FULLY stocked with strainers, pyrex dishes, multiple nonstick pans and pots, a blender, cookie sheets, tea kettle, & 12 cup coffee pot. At the time of our stay, there were a decent supply of basic spices (salt/pepper, cinnamon, steak seasoning, garlic), cooking spray, & veg oil. The place was also well stocked with garbage bags, TP, paper towels, dish/hand soap, dish sponges. The only extra thing we had to buy was tin foil & sandwich bags for day trips. The most helpful additions were the beach supplies including: adult/kid snorkel, boogie board, fins, beach chairs/umbrellas, soft sided cooler, first aid kit, float noodles, beach towels. Also had laundry pods/dryer sheets.

Great home in a gated community, with amazing views of sunsets. The home even looked better than the photos! The entire family enjoyed the pool area. The home was clean, and very well stocked. Beach toys and umbrellas were also appreciated. The parking was free and easily located in front of the home. The home is also within walking distance of the shopping mall. We highly recommend this home and would love to return!
An outdoor dining area is visible under a covered patio, featuring a wooden table with four chairs. Lush greenery surrounds the space, complemented by a decorative statue at the front. Vibrant art pieces line the exterior wall, adding character to the entrance.

We loved the Surfer's Inn and look forward to staying again! Due to a change in travel plans, we needed to add an extra day fairly close to our arrival. Ossian and Brittany were quick to respond and accommodate. We loved the relaxed location and feel of the place. Our stay was beyond expectations. Highly recommend!

Halii Kai Waikoloa 2B-Golf Membership, Private

JodiRating, 5 stars38 months ago
We spent 8 nights here, and found it to be perfect for our family of five (our kids are two teenagers and an 11yo). The kitchen had everything we could need/want, and then some--and the same was true for the enertainment/activity supplies (board games, Roku, beach chairs and towels, snorkeling equipment, tennis rackets/balls and a basketball and even a couple scooters). The pool and hot tub were beautiful (although the low-key vibe of the pool rules was a bit disappointing for our 11yo--but we made up for it by purchasing a day pass for the nearby Hilton pool a couple days), and the bar and restaurant at the pool were very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did our best to see the whole island, and this was a great home base for the week.
A spacious living area is highlighted by large windows, allowing natural light to fill the room. Comfortable seating is arranged around a wooden coffee table, with views of palm trees and the outdoor surroundings visible through the glass doors.

Golf Villas at Mauna Lani Resort

JenRating, 5 stars11 months ago
Honestly, the pictures don't do this property justice. It was so spacious. That area is lovely. The unit it across from the pool, which was super convenient. BUT it is easily the best stocked rental we have ever stayed in. If you plan on cooking at home (which we did a lot of) its a dream. We did have a little issue with the BBQ which Wayne sorted immediately. A nice touch that the pantry had leftovers from previous guests (which we also added to). I would stay here again and again. Grateful that this was our place for our first trip to the big island. Rent it, you wont regret it.

I couldn't be happier with my experience. The location was ideal making it easy for me to commute to and from the Waikoloa resort where the Native Hawaiian Convention was held. The apartment was clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

Hilton Pool Pass thru June 2025 and Waikoloa Golf

KipRating, 5 stars4 days ago
This was our third time staying at the Fairway Villas complex. We really liked the location close to the beaches and the Kings Shops. I enjoyed walking down along the beach in the morning, spotting whales jumping! We had a squeaky overhead fan in the master bedroom, and a Resortica staff member came over right away and provided a box fan for us to use during our stay, so that was great service. This is not reflection on Resortica, but we were pretty disappointed with the experience at the Hilton. The first two days the Kona pool was closed due to a private event, so everyone was jammed into the Kohala pool space. None of pools provide umbrellas for shade - you have to pay $150 to get a chaise with an umbrella. There is no staff coming around to take drink orders and you have to order take-out in person at the grill and take it back with you. Basically, the Hilton is more like YMCA water park than a resort at this point. The nice pool at the Fairway Villas a least had free shade!
A comfortable living area features a light-colored sofa with an attached chaise lounge, complemented by a deep red accent chair. A wooden coffee table sits in the center, adorned with a small plant. Framed artwork and a floor lamp add subtle touches to the space.

Mauna Lani Fairways View of Golf Beach Club Access

StephanieRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We stayed for a week with our two children, age 5 and 8. The unit is exactly as represented in the pictures. We stay at rental houses a good deal and this is one of the best. It feels like it is owner used, such that the towels, kitchen utensils etc are of good quality. Lots of space, all the beach equipment that you need. As others have said, the front room (with the twin beds) is warmer than the other room but it was not a problem at all for our kids. Thanks for the great stay.

Villa Lava at Mauna Lani Resort w/ Keyless Entry

KathrynRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had a magical holiday trip at Villa Lava. First off I must say that Janine was the most attentive and thoughtful host we've had thus far. The recommendations and descriptions of the area, things to do and information related to the home made staying here so effortless. The place is pristine and very well cared for. You can feel that this is a loved family vacation home. As others have mentioned every single thing you might need is accounted for. We especially appreciated the sand/pool toys for the kids and the well stocked kitchen as we did not eat out during our stay. The pool is 2 minute walk out the back door and the home backs up to beautifully landscaped gardens. The beach is a short drive away and was absolutely gorgeous. The water was warm and very calm. Overall the location felt just perfect to. There was even a grocery which had everything we needed only a few minute drive away. We would highly recommend Villa Lava!

This place was nearly perfect for my family and I to stay. The view was amazing, the neighborhood was quiet, with the exception of some traffic coming up the road. Private townhouse near Hawaii’s best beaches

SarahRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Caroline’s place has a great floor plan and all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s very central for exploring the Kona side of the Big Island. It’s about 15-20 minute drive north to Hapuna beach and Mauna Kea beach, about 20 minutes south to the beach at Kukio (amazing kids beach) and Kua Bay, 40 minutes south to Kailua-Kona, and 30 minutes to the great restaurants and farmers markets in Waimea. The pool was convenient to have nearby, but the ocean was warmer, so we spent most of our time at the beaches. The tennis court is nice and usually empty. Caroline was extremely responsive and helpful! We did not do much around Waikoloa itself, but there are a lot of restaurants and walking paths. I can’t imagine a better place for the price. My only small warning is that the sprinklers and landscapers start going around 4 am and we slept with the windows open. The rest of my family didn’t hear them though. :)

Spacious Townhome at Waikoloa Colony Villas

MarkRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Aimee's place is the perfect location for a Big Island stay. It is very centrally located for enjoying all the Big Island has to offer, so you're not driving too far for any one activity. The Waikoloa beach resort area has everything you need - a beautiful beach, shops and restaurants. We're not golfer's but there is no lack of courses. Our family used the pickle ball courts, bikes and beach chairs and umbrella. We have stayed in a lot of Airbnb's over the years and Aimee's is one of the best - good beds (always important), comfortable furniture and a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of space for everyone.

Mauna Lani Palm Villas H4 Amazing View Corner Unit

The Villa was esthetically pleasing, well appointed, very quiet, and convenient to the beach, stores, and main highway. There were 5 adults in our party. We had plenty of room to spread out and to congregate in the shared space. The instruction book was extremely helpful in finding local restaurants. We discussed our trip afterwards and we would definitely stay there again.
