If you love being in nature and not seeing other people. This is the place for you. The view is just spectacular and the I have not seen so many stars at night in a very long time. Be warned it is hot but it is the Karoo and there is even aircon so you sleep well. Pack a lilo and cool off in the beautifully cool water of the river. Our boys loved fishing and we loved the peace and quite.

We had a wonderful stay at the Farmer’s Cottage at Karoo Pondok Guest House. Xoliswa gave us a warm and friendly welcome, which set the tone for a lovely visit. The cottage is beautifully and tastefully furnished, making it a comfortable and relaxing retreat. We especially appreciated that the property is fenced off, providing a safe space for our fur babies to enjoy. The aircon was a lifesaver in the heat and made our stay so much more enjoyable. That said, there was a bad odour near the back door, and it looked like a blocked drain had been cleaned outside, which was a bit unpleasant. As another guest mentioned, a flat sheet under the duvet would be a great addition for warmer nights. Despite this, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend the Farmer’s Cottage!

It’s even more stunning in person, with a perfect blend of comfort and charm. From the moment I walked in, I felt at ease. The space is wonderfully relaxing, offering a peaceful retreat that was exactly what I needed. Jana was a fantastic host, attentive and welcoming she even checked if we were okay on the way there. This is beginning to feel like a home away from home for me. I frequent Burgersdorp regularly and each time I stay with Kobus I am able to relax and have a good nights rest. Really superb unit and a great host

We absolutely loved our stay here! Very pristine and peaceful location, and a quaint cottage to stay in. Even more beautiful than the pictures. Responsive host, and her father was very friendly in person. Would absolutely stay again.

I booked this one day ahead of time and Ashley was super responsive and helpful. It was easy to get in, restaurants - walkable, lovely big beds in the 2 rooms in the house, giant bathtub that I didn’t use but if I had more time it looked great. And! Milk in the fridge was greatly appreciated! And soap in the shower also thanks!

A real gem! So much character, the pictures don’t do it justice. Carin was a great host. We had a comfortable overnight stay. Clean and comfortable beds, warm shower and a delicious meal at Karoo Artist Cafe (across the road) Will definitely be back! Thank you Carin for your hospitality

Great stopover especially if you are travelling with pets. Friendly and caring hosts. We booked the Jean room that has a private, secluded garden, our dogs loved it. All amenities and more were provided which were a great plus and made our stay even more comfortable. Thank you for having us!
