I really enjoyed 3 days in Balk with the very friendly Judith and Jeroen. Beautiful homestay, super clean and tidy. Beautiful area within walking distance of Slotermeer. Beautiful garden with various seating areas where you can relax and read breakfast. The surroundings are also beautiful, in my opinion the most beautiful part of Friesland. I would 100% recommend this homestay and I will definitely return here. Thank you very much for everything!

The place exactly matches the description and pictures and we had a great stay! Check-in and communication was impeccable, always quick and friendly. Beautiful furnishings with everything you need (cooking and bathing utensils, additional firewood and even a bottle of wine to welcome you). Beds were very comfortable and the place is in a very quiet area for a good sleep. Mega beautifully located right on the canal with great private garden! The place was spotlessly clean, except for the sauna and bathroom outside. We had to free these before using many spiders before we could use them. Maybe the caretaker can also check this in the future, then everything is perfect! I would come back again and again and recommend the place! Thank you Lucinda and all the best!

Amazing place, very peaceful. The hosts are incredibly nice and very helpful. We took the recommended wooden boat for a tour around the town and it was magical.

Great place. Close to nature. Well equipped. We were on a work trip and found the quietness great for after a stressful day.

We were visiting a relative in the area. The venue suited our needs very nicely. Home from home (once we got used to the stairs). A version of the Guidance Book in English would be very useful. If we venture into Drenthe again, we will certainly look to see if Irene’s home is available.

We enjoyed very much. It's a beautiful, decent mobile home. Nice with the air conditioning. Plenty of space all around in the garden and the shed. Friendly neighbors, child-friendly campsite with playground and swimming pool.

We had the pleasure of spending a few days there with the family. A jewelry box is an island of tranquility. It was a big edge. We'll be back.

A charming spot to enjoy nature and truly disconnect. The owner was exceptionally kind and welcoming. We were two couples, and while the place felt a bit smaller than it appeared in the photos, it was still perfectly comfortable for a short stay. Highly recommended!
