Vacation rentals in Newington

The view of the sunrise over the river and the hot tub on the deck were highlights! The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The host responded quickly to messages and was very flexible. We'll be back!

Jenny was a great host who was very understanding to our flexible check in needs. We were traveling from downstate and had run into numerous delays on the way, including snow! Jenny cranked the heat for us and left the lights on so when we arrived, albeit very late, we were able to quickly warm up and get inside. Cottage was cozy, private, and surrounded by natural beauty right on the St. Lawrence River. Wonderful stay and would definitely come back in we were in the area again.

We like to travel for vacation and this place by far is our favorite. We keep coming here for 5 years and hope to come again. It feels like home and exactly what we need when we’re away.

We loved staying at the river house. Beautiful view of the river and comfy accommodations. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful- even bringing over flowers for Thanksgiving. The place was nicely decorated for the season. When it snowed, they brought over some sleds for the kids. I would love to come back in the summer! Only drawbacks were that the heating was a bit uneven in the main room with all of the windows, but it warmed up nicely with a fire in the fireplace- which is a great touch. The water smells very sulphur-y, but that’s common in wells near the river. Being from the area originally it didn’t bother me too much. Thank you Cassie and Shana! We had a great time.

We enjoyed some much needed down time and Loved being close enough to our son’s family to visit. Weather could have been better but it was a great get a way. Lorraine and John were very helpful.

We had this plsce for 10 days. It was very spacious and easy to get to. It was clean and well kept. I would definitely use this spot again if I had to go to Ottawa. Troy

Wonderful host & perfect location! We had an amazing time & we enjoyed every minute at Denise’s home. The view was incredible. The house felt like home & we can’t wait to return in the future!

Eugene’s place was very clean and had everything we needed. He was very responsive, Super accommodating and helpful as well. My son and I had a great time on the water in the pedal boat and he loved the hot tub! (Which I will add was also very clean) If you choose to stay at this relaxing, quiet and enjoyable place, it is suggested to do groceries prior to coming into town as it is quite expensive at the towns grocery store and if you’d like to use the fire pit, bring your fire wood as it is not provided. Thank you Eugene! We enjoyed our stay and were sad to go :)

Third stay at Butternut Bay, and it truly does feel like a home away from home. We have such special family memories because of Butternut Bay and its owner, first Jeanne, and now Meagan who is continuing her legacy--and it really does feel like that. Meagan cares that your time at Butternut is one you will remember. We thoroughly enjoyed her sharing of the St Lawrence Seaway map online, so we were able to track and learn more about the ships that were passing, day and night! Looking forward to our next stay, and more amazing family moments. Thank you Meagan!

Jonathans place was great! It is located in a residential neighborhood but not far from restaurants and great parks. The sun room offers a nice view of the snow covered trees, allowing for that winter wonderland scene. The place itself was clean and quiet, no complaints! And Jonathan was very responsive. Overall a smooth experience and worth it!

We stayed for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was beautiful as well as the property. It was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I and felt very homey. Short drive to Nordik, Chelsea Pub, and Gatineau Park. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the area! Very happy!

If I could give more stars I would! My fiance and I stayed for 3 nights at cottontail cabin and it was everything you could want from a peaceful, secluded and cozy winter oasis. The hot tub and sauna were awesome and made it feel like a private little Nordic spa totally surround by woods. We really liked the personal touches throughout the cabin, like the artwork and beautiful glasswork. The beds and bedding were very nice, the kitchen has everything you need, the bathrooms had nice soap, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and even body lotion. We love that it is pet friendly because we brought our dog who was in total heaven. If you’re looking to unwind and relax this is definitely the place for you! We are already talking about a second stay. This cabin is a real gem, and it’s clear the hosts put a lot of time and care into making their guests feel right at home, thank you Liz and Michael!
