Great location, great people, everything was what we expected

Place was great, had everything we needed for a family holiday. Very special sitting on that deck watching the waves roll in. Quick access down to the beach for a surf or a fish. Thanks again.

Loved this place! So. Lose to beach, loved sitting on verandah with the trees and bird life, plenty of natural light inside, nice quirks, great community, lovely hosts… a perfect cruisy coastal getaway. Host gave us early access. Would return!

A breathtaking view and serene atmosphere. The experience is kind of like glamping, as in we did most things outdoors, with the comfort of the amenities available within the tiny home. The road into the property is a tad tricky to figure out, despite the host’s detailed directions. Maps app gets confused, so study up on the exact location before you get there. My humble car made it up the drive, but I’d be reluctant to do it in wet weather. The road is very well maintained, it’s just the layout of the land that can be challenging for a city/sedan driver (and a couple of women who usually leave the off-road stuff to the blokes🤣). It was a great adventure and provided us with some great belly laughs. All worth it for the location - it’s very special up there. I’d return for sure. Take lots of firewood and steaks👍🏻👍🏻. We enjoyed spending Christmas here with our family in our much loved Valla Beach. We loved the view down the beach and the easy walk to the beach from the house.

The second we arrived at Yarrallen Retreat, it felt like coming home to my soul. The hosts were like family, always going above and beyond. I can't believe they even offered to pet-sit our dog so I could visit my sick grandfather. And the place itself? It's a little slice of heaven on Earth. There's no way pictures could ever do it justice. I've told so many friends already about this place and am already planning my next trip. Followed by many more!

Beautiful place, was everything we hoped for. Very secluded, even though Alfred lives upstairs. Large property full of subtropical gardens, attracting lots of native birds. The unit has a large living area, well equipped kitchen, though with a portable cooktop, which was more than ample. Beds are comfortable. Pool was absolutely divine, we wish we spent more time in it, however with a beautiful beach only a short walk away, we preferred an ocean swim. We wouldn't hesitate booking Alfred's place again, thoroughly recommended

We enjoyed our stay at Doris’ place. The house was well equipped with everything you need. There was plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 children. The pool was great. The house is in a good spot, a couple of minutes drive from everything you need. It felt like a quiet and peaceful part of town. If we head back to Nambucca Heads, we’d definitely stay again.

Julie’s property is an amazing and beautiful place that captures and celebrates the natural surroundings. We enjoyed the walks through the rainforest and around the billabong…just a few steps away from our accommodation. The accommodation was very well presented, easy to access, peaceful and perfect for our short stay. Close enough to the beach and coast, but far enough to feel removed from it all. We loved it and would highly recommend

A much loved older family home with personal touches throughout. Stone’s throw to river walk and 5 minute to local restaurants round the boardwalk. Short drive to main beach for some surf and swimming. Can be hot in summer but fans in every room plus a/c in the main bedroom. Verandah out the front is a nice place to sit and watch the world go by. Dog friendly with fenced yard made it a great stay for our family.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the big backyard with the deck looking out was fantastic. Great for kids and dogs to enjoy! Was very well maintained, even during our stay. A few very minor utility issues with the home and the lack of a BBQ did slightly hinder our experience, however easily worked around these and Lucy was very responsive when we reached out. All in all, we had a great time holidaying here with the family. Urunga is a great spot to enjoy! Thanks Lucy & Otis for hosting us.

Val is an outstanding host, she is great to communicate with and very lovely. Val was extremely understanding of the needs of our old Labrador, Honey and was far more accommodating than we could ever have expected. We all felt right at home in the space and warmly welcomed. The location is stunning, perfect to watch both the sunrise and sunset as you overlook native forests and pastures with horses. The little one bedroom cottage is immaculate. It has a full kitchen which is easy to use, and the whole house gets lots of light throughout the day. Another bonus of the location is how close it is both to Numbucca Heads and Scotts Head, both of which are about 20 minutes drive to the beaches. If you are looking for privacy, an amazing host and a nature filled experience this is definitely the place to visit. We already look forward to our next stay!

The beach is across the road, it's a slice of Byron Bay but without the crowd, such a magical place and plenty to do if you're active and love walking, hiking or just chilling out

We booked last minute, as we needed a place to stay the night along our route. Super responsive and self check in when we arrived quite late at night. Instructions were very clear about how to get in. The place was very cosy and private.

Lovely house, presented beautifully and stylish but with a beach feel. The location was in a great spot and we could walk everywhere. We had a fabulous time. Note those with young kids there are stairs, it wasn't an issue for us but kept us very active ;) There's two great outdoor sitting areas as well to enjoy the afternoon/ evenings.
