My second time staying at Tsubara and third time staying at a property of Koji and Eri’s! Always a great experience staying here. Close to good restaurants and station, Kiyomizu temple is right up the hill, and the place was cozy, clean, quiet, and a beautiful architectural and cultural experience too. Eri and Koji communicate so promptly and help with all our needs. It was the perfect peaceful accommodation for our family trip.

We absolutely loved this space. It was exactly what we needed after an intensive first week of travel in Japan. We were looking for something similar to a Ryokan but was more private. The large tub was the main reason we booked and it absolutely did not disappoint. It brought us all the zen we needed. The host allowed us to drop our bags early as well so we could explore and come back later for check in. Thank you for this lovely space. We wish we could have stayed more nights!!

Great Machiya stay with a traditional feel, but with modern amenities such as heated floor! Also perfect location to explore Kyoto. Tokuji san was always very responsive during communications. Overall, highly recommended!

We stayed with our two young boys and had a wonderful time. It was a lovely base to discover Kyoto. Everything was close by and easy to access. The kids loved the warm beds and heated floors, and it was great to send them out to the neighborhood shops to run errands by themselves. We live in suburban America so this was a real treat for them. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property with us.

It was a very pleasant and descent stay, which may be the most pleasant stay i have ever since using the Airbnb. The landlord picked us at Kyoto station herself and provided us many delicious local restaurants. Many thanks to Mio, the landlord, for her offering this much pleasant experience. To make a wager, you can rely on this residence as the first choice for a Kyoto stay.

Fantastic stay at Uzu’s place this winter. There is so much charm and thoughtfulness to these accommodations. Uzu’s place was clean and comfortable and served as a great “home base” from which to explore Kyoto and surrounding areas. Uzu’s was so thoughtful - sharing great local recommendations with a hand drawn map of key spots. Awesome! For westerners, please know that this is a normal Kyoto home. That means low ceilings. But I am 6 foot 2 and was able to navigate very comfortably. Uzu has great comfortable Western style beds, as well as futons. There was nothing not to love about this place.

Lovely place, traditional looks with all modern conveniences. Easy reach of the local railway station. Someone was close by (who seemed lovely) who was always available to help and provided clean towels during our stay which was nice. Thanks for letting us use your place, I hope we weren't a bother.

Jinn is a gracious host, considering every detail. The space is a beautiful and peaceful sanctuary that is very restorative after a day of Kyoto adventures. You can tell it was put together with an artist’s heart. The location is out of the fray of the city, yet you can easily catch buses to any of the major sites at the foot of the hill. We were able to visit everything we desired with ease. I was very happy to stay here and hope to again soon!

Very nice homestay, Japanese traditional residence, the yard is very beautiful, I believe it will be very nice to come over during the maple leaf season, everyone's stay is very comfortable, if the price is a little more perfect, haha, I look forward to coming back next time

Asami hosted to what I can confidently say is the best stay I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Asami and Daniel were incredibly kind, friendly and welcoming the moment we arrived. Aside from getting local recommendations and a personable tour of the neighborhood, the space itself was so cozy. We had everything we needed and no detail was left unchecked. The free use of the bikes was also a highlight to our stay. Without a doubt if I needed to stay in Kyoto again I would look to Asami.

A beautiful house located very close to 2 train stations and Fushimi Inari. Very convenient, comfortable and clean.

THE LANDLORD IS THE MOST ENTIAST AND FRIENDLY LANDLORD I HAVE EVER LIVED IN ALL AIRBNB. THE HOUSE IS VERY OLD KYOTO CHARACTERISTICS. I DON'T THINK THERE ARE ANY SHORTCOMINGS EXCEPT FOR THE SLIGHTLY REMOTE LOCATION. It is highly recommended to stay.

Aika was a fantastic host - from allowing me a early check in to having all the amenities (including water) so neatly laid out. Loved the location that was quiet yet central. Room was spacious by Japan standards. Would highly recommend

Very satisfied with this homestay experience, Harry's house is so excellent, two floors above and below, the rest and leisure space is separated, equipped with projection and sound, and the lighting design in the house is also very cozy.The house itself is a very traditional Japanese house with a refined little yard, at the same time it is conveniently equipped with a very modern home appliance system. Harry is very nice, he came to the bus station to pick us up, and also recommended very authentic daily materials, and I will come to Kyoto again next time I come to Kyoto!

It was one of the happiest times we had during our trip to Japan and Mitsuo was very welcoming.Picked us up from Kyoto station before check in and saved us a lot of time and effort.When we finally left, we also offered to send us to the station, which made us feel the enthusiasm of the Japanese locals.The room is also Japanese style, I recommend everyone to stay.

It is a cozy and quiet place, close to bus stops and Shichijo station, 20-25 minutes walking distance to Kyoto station, which was not too bad when we walked with luggages from/to the train station. Everything is well explained and easy to understand. Recommend this place !!
