Vacation rentals with a fireplace in McHenry County

Always a wonderful host and the property is immaculate for large groups. Was our second time staying and we will be back for more.

Savanie's rive house is exactly as pictured, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well-equipped and the fenced-in backyard had everything you need for a lazy day of reading by the water.

Christine’s place was perfect for our needs. We were in town for the night for a triathlon. It was conveniently located near downtown McHenry which was very charming. Christine was very communicative and shared all needed information as well as recommendations for restaurants, etc. she was easy to work with and was flexible. Her place is VERY clean and comfortable. I wish I wouldn’t had to wake up so early so that I could have enjoyed the comfy bed a bit longer. The backyard is lovely and super relaxing. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. We felt right at home here with our toddler and our dog. Our son especially loved the fun sunglasses on the coffee table. We hope to return and would definitely recommend.

Pictures didn’t do this place justice, clean and very well furnished. Kitchen fully stocked as if they live there full time. High end utensils and kitchenware. Very cozy, well lit during the day, several spots to hang out indoors and outside with lots of entertainment options indoors, lots of room to roam outside and a fire pit . Sandra responds instantly, she’s very far from you so you have privacy but always available to come by if you needed anything. Sandra invited my daughter to help her groom the horse and that made her day. Would visit again for sure, and perhaps in the winter if available. The fireplace beckons. There’s an XL size griddle outside which I was allowed to use. She’s offering you all she has, so treat it with care and respect and clean after yourself so that we can all enjoy her place. Nothing short of amazing! Frank was an incredible host, very informative and friendly. Our family enjoyed everything about our stay and will stay again on or next trip to Illinois!

Celebrated my 30th birthday with my closest friends here. We all had an amazing stay. There were some challenges with finding the codes for different things, but we were able to figure it out. The backyard is every bit as beautiful as the photos. We especially liked the many seating areas and abundance of space. The pool table and shuffle board table got a lot of attention. The master bedroom and bathroom were VERY nice-even a heated toilet seat! There was quite a bit of dust, spider webs, random dead bugs, but we chalked it up to perhaps being the first guests of the season. Overall, it was a great stay and we can see ourselves visiting again for the next 30th birthday! Larry was very communicative and responsive.

What a perfect place for our family. Warm feeling in each room. We celebrated my grandsons 30th birthday at a venue in Lakemoor. The home was perfect for the out of staters.

Amazing place. Beautiful, clean, unique, cozy and private. The lake is out of this world and the host is responsive and sweet.

The apartment is spacious, bright, and looks right onto the Rock River. I would love to return in the summer and be able to enjoy the deck which overlooks the water. The location is convenient to many local attractions. It would be a good place for an extended stay with a well-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. Nice modern kitchen and bathroom. Saul was a great host and replied quickly to messages.

I cannot say enough positive things about Susan's place and Susan herself. Her location is a home away from home. I felt right at home the moment I walked in. Everything was neat, clean, organized and though there was everything you could want or need for your stay, the host would still check-in to be sure you had all you needed and all was good. The house is very pretty, inside and out. The neighborhood was quiet, and felt very safe. The host herself, Susan, is very caring and beyond hospitable, as well as easy and interesting to converse with. As it shows in the pictures, she does have two small dogs who are well behaved and adorable. I could not recommend this location enough, especially for the rate.

Host is responsive So kind, house was clean, cute and great appliances. Perfect air bnb if staying for Navy Graduation station is like 10min away. Neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. 10/10

We loved our stay! Huge apartment with everything you need and more! Charming and clean!

This was a very comfortable and convenient place for us during our weekend in Chicago. The driveway parking was a nice feature, and the couple of times that my car was blocked in, a quick phone call was all it took to have the other car moved out of the way swiftly.

The host was very responsive and made check in a breeze! The unit was super clean and not far from the the downtown area. Will definitely be staying here again in the future!

I had a fantastic stay at Marcel’s Airbnb! The accommodation was great, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The location was convenient, and the atmosphere made me feel right at home. Marcel was a wonderful host, always responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay. Would definitely come back!

Truly a gem near Lake Geneva. Plamena’s place was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to host our families. It was our first time vacationing again after having babies earlier this year and our toddler had a blast. She won’t stop talking about “her toys” at the airbnb. Plamena’s place is also a 5 minute drive to downtown Lake Geneva which was very convenient. Our overall experience was great, Plamena is an amazing host and we look forward to staying with her again in the near future.

Wow! This was a wonderful place for my family and me while we were in the area for Tough Mudder. Everything was set up so nicely for us with helpful instructions, recommendations, treats, games and toiletries if we needed them! This home is in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood and plenty of space for everyone. Thank you so much for the hospitality!

Great stay and location!

Great condo that was in a beautiful setting. We went in the Fall and the property was very quiet. We saw turkeys and deer and enjoyed the view of the lake from the condo. Mars restaurant was a short walk away which was also nice.

We were very fortunate to book Wendi’s condo just a couple weeks prior to our trip. We wanted to celebrate a friend’s birthday away from Chicago and chose Lake Geneva for the proximity. We found Wendi’s condo to be a perfect combination of location, space, and amenities. Being just a 10-minute drive to Lake Geneva’s downtown allowed us to explore/eat and be back in time to enjoy the sunset and relax. There are Uber drivers around the area so none of us had to draw straws to be the DD. Keep in mind the entire complex becomes very quiet in the evening – this could have been due to us arriving the weekend after July 4th. Luckily, we came up here to relax but if you are arriving with a loud group you may upset the older neighbors. While we didn’t get a chance to use the pool or tennis courts, we did visit The Ridge hotel for its fantastic coffee shop and restaurant. Overall, we had a great time, felt comfortable and got exactly what we came up here for. Thanks Wendi!
