It has been the place we have ever been to and the best hosting we have experienced! Some aspects which made it incredible stay (not all): - the host provided clear instructions and was flexible on check in. His team member was waiting us on the way and guided us to the accommodation; - the space was extremely beautiful and clean; - the meals were delicious and fully home made with all fresh ingredients; we haven’t expected such great restaurant level culinary in the middle of Masai Mara; - Florent and his team prepared travel fridge for our safari drives with so much great Kenyan food. It was sooo tasty! - every evening we had a nice tea and pastries at the view point for Masai Mara; - the team members (4) are extremely nice, friendly, humble and helpful. We felt they have been our friends for a long time; If you book this place - trust me - you wanna simply come back! Same as we are already planning to come back. If I could give Moses and Laura 100 stars, I would. This was truly the experience of a lifetime and while I anticipated having a great stay, they curated an adventure above and beyond anything imaginable. The game drive was otherworldly, and our guide, Mike, was fantastic. It was super affordable and well worth every penny spent. The personal touches like setting up breakfast in the park and bringing blankets for the chilly morning ride were so sweet. The Bush BBQ is an absolute MUST. We loved dancing with the Maasai men and eating super fresh lamb cooked over a fire. We also did a morning walk with Moses while he herded their animals and he shared so much knowledge about the landscape, culture, medicinal plants and local animals. He is a wealth of knowledge and we are forever grateful for his hospitality. If you’re considering staying with them, don’t think twice. Book now and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime. This is a very special place and the whole idea and concept of social tourism appealed. My wife was able to volunteer at a local medical clinic and I volunteered at the local college which was absolutely inspiring. All of the staff at Oldarpoi were so friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was great and we enjoyed cocktails around the fire pit every night. Oldarpoi does have a generator for when the electricity drops but it took a while to kick in at times making it difficult to keep things cool in the fridge (staff did offer to store perishable food in their fridge in the main kitchen if needed.) It would be beneficial to take a torch although paraffin lamps were available. We did a walking safari and game drive with local Maasai guide Moses which was absolutely breathtaking and we learned so much. Pool was huge (much larger than photos on website!) Cannot recommend highly enough! A wonderful experience escaping from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Great campsite, super Masai night watchman. View over the river directly into the park. You will see animals directly from the tent here and feel safe on the square thanks to the Masai.

We had a happy time there. The communikation and the house was very nice. Also we had support nearby. Our evaluations are under the standards of african, not european view. First we had some problems to find the accomodation and after calls with the owner we reached the house. Some help at the house was very ambitious and helpful for us. The missing WLAN was covered with a working alternative so we are happy then.
