Vacation rentals with a patio in Makry Gialos

An absolute dream vacation! The location right on the beach couldn't be better, and the roof terrace was the highlight of my stay – I spent there every day. René and Nadine are top hosts , and Georgios on site welcomed me warmly and gave me a great introduction. The tips I got made my stay even better – they were really worth gold. The penthouse is perfectly equipped and offers everything you need for an all-round successful vacation. The location of the penthouse is just perfect – right by the sea and within walking distance of charming cafes and restaurants. The surroundings also offer many sandy beaches. Particularly noteworthy is how accommodating René and Nadine were: they allowed me an earlier arrival and later departure, which made my stay even more relaxed. Absolutely recommended! I will definitely come back and can only warm this Airbnb

We had a wonderful week at Popi's place. The apartment was clean and friendly. The terrace with hammock , table and chairs was very cozy and you could chill there well. There was even a huge fan under the ceiling. The garden where you had to go through to get to the apartment was stocked with many different fruits and vegetables. Popi spoiled us with her home-cooked food and baked cookies for us. In addition, there were already 4 different homemade jams in the fridge and 1 bottle of raki. Pomegranates, mangoes, papayas, and ears were also ready. The beaches were great (sand ) and the 2 traverses in the village are also very good. However, if you want to see something else, you need a car. The coastal road to Mirtos is fantastic . To say goodbye, Popi gave us a small gift . They are always very friendly and helpful. We will be happy to come back.

The apartment is ideally located in a quiet area facing the salt flats. Well equipped, dishwasher, recent washing machine, fridge, flat screen... it is in the middle of two other apartments. The first is rented by an extremely friendly and helpful resident. Vasilis offered us homemade bread, family honey, lend his snorkeling equipment and recommended good local tips. Elsa is also extremely responsive, understanding, pleasant and friendly. It is possible to swim on a beautiful big pebble beach 5 minutes walk ( paradisio beach) or further on the peninsula. A big favorite for kolokitah beach , a christaline water, a shaded beach accessible by car or a 30-minute walk. We came at the end of October, many restaurants were starting to close like the taverna paradisio nearby. The period is ideal with children as well as the small enclosed courtyard in front of the apartment. You just have to take care of the few steps and cacti.

We had a great week in Eva's apartment where we had everything we needed and Eva made us very welcome. The apartment was perfect for my wife and I and had everything we needed. Eva was very attentive, responding very quickly to any queries or questions we had. Although it was end of season there was still plenty to do in Stalida. The weather was fantastic and as always the Cretian people were very hospitable. The beach is right across the quiet road, with sun loungers to hire very cheaply. We found Stalida an excellent base for exploring the East of the island (Heraklion, Plaka, Spinalonga, Agios Nikolaos) and Eva gave us some great local restaurant tips. All in all a very enjoyable stay, made all the better by an excellent host.

Of all my trips to Greece, this was the first place I stayed where I just had to sit on the balcon and relax. Wat a wonderful view! The place where the house is located is calm and surrounded only by Greek nature. What we could want more? Dimitrios and his wife are very welcoming. Every aspect was wonderful! Close to everything with car but absolutely private and everyone there is like family. Above and beyond for sure

Had a great stay at Eva's place. Easy to find and her cousin Popi was waiting for us with the keys. Plenty of space and beds were comfortable. The patio was perfect for breakfast.Easy to get to from Heraklion/ Lerapetra, buses on time and just 14€ one way. Lots of good restaurants at a stone's throw.

We stayed in Thanos's apartment for two weeks and were very impressed by the order and cleanliness of the house. We had everything we needed, we didn't miss anything. The neighbors were very nice and very kind. This has also been very impressed with us. The village is nice and very close to the beach for windsurfing (a few minutes by car). We stayed from mid-October to November and only one day there was no wind, but moving by car already at about an hour the beaches became calm and warm. Great experience

The 2nd time we stayed with Christina. We felt very welcome again and at home. Our own cottage just outside the city center, near the beach: easily walkable or by city bus.

House with the sea (still warm at the end of October) a few steps away, as you can see from the photo, clean, like new. Friendly and proactive host, who has contributed to a very pleasant stay. Weaknesses? I couldn't find any.

The Old Bakery, quaint kitchen-living room, wooden ceilings everywhere, a mirror that does not dance after your nose at will, large terrace with sophisticated irrigation system for the beloved plants, without TV, offers the chance for recreation without distraction. Six weeks in Cretan winter, so - viewed from the Baltic Sea - in a very pleasant spring climate. Amanda competently organized repair without delay when a defect occurred in the water supply - on Sundays. Thanks for the opportunity!

The stay has already been hailed in previous comments and we can only confirm it. You don't just rent a cottage but step into a house where lived and lived and enjoyed. Everything is perfectly equipped and everything is in stock. The olive oil is delicious. We stayed for a week and didn't get tired of the area , at night we were treated to the full moon and a starry sky . Countless small beaches within the 10 to 30 min drive. We walked a lot and the most beautiful walk we found the walk from Xerokampos to agia Irini along the cliff tops. Thank you for this unforgettable week and your hospitality!!

Staying in Agios Nikolaos is usually more costly per night than most other places in Crete so we were really delighted that Dimitris's accommodation gave us all the things we were looking for whilst being within our budget. Dimitris was very welcoming with some useful extras & treats that helped get our stay underway. He showed us around the property and provided some great info on locations and tavernas worth visiting during our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable & the shower very modern, both things were important to us. The air conditioning was efficient & the garden & shared beach area [with the adjacent villa] was lovely. The bedroom & bathroom were slightly smaller than other places we've stayed on Crete, and if walking into the centre for an evening, the walk back when dark would be maybe a bit much [return taxi a better idea] though none of these detracted from our enjoyment. Overall we were very happy & would certainly recommend Dimitris's villa.

Great host. Willing to go extra mile to make sure guests are well taken care of. The stay at the apartment was pleasant and relaxing. The way it was described on Airbnb. An apartment itself was clean and had quality furniture and design. Kids loved the mini jacuzzi. All the amenities and extras were available as described, which has added to the comfort during stay. George is friendly, patient and makes little gestures that matter. For example helped me carry the luggage; ensured jacuzzi water freshness; filled the fridge with grocery & snacks prior to our arrival. In summary very nice stay and good vibes.

Marianthi’s place was amazing! I think probably one of best places in Agios Nikolaos. The place was cozy and as soon as we got there we felt right at home. Her place was super clean, exactly like the pictures and more. Location was perfect, just a few minutes walk to the main part of town. The views from the deck are breathtaking, something I’ll never forget. Loved the cookies and bottled water when we arrived. Highly recommend staying at Marianthi’s place. And I’ll definitely be coming back soon.

Was a lovely big space and very near to town, just a few minutes walk to the beach! Fully equipped and very clean. Was easy to find and very welcoming. Lucky to have found this special place :)

We loved our stay here! We came with 3 kids under 5 and it was perfect for us. It's BIG. The kids loved it. Great view of the sunrise from the balcony. Less that 10 minutes walk to the beach. Great coffee and koulouri nearby. Giannis was extremely responsive, welcoming, and helpful. The fridge was full of stuff for us! It's worth noting that the bedrooms are quite bright (no heavy curtains or shutters) so my kids woke up a bit earlier than I like! But we liked it here so much that we stayed several extra nights. Highly recommend.

Great location, peaceful. Less than 10 minutes walk from some of the beaches, 15 minutes walk (or so) into the main town and the lake.

We were so looked after and made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The place is wonderful- the view is amazing and everything you could need is there. It was such a comfortable place to stay. The location is also very handy for exploring Agios Nikolaos on foot, as well as other surrounding towns and sights in the area if you have a car. I would very highly recommend staying here, it was great!

Gogo and Lefteris' place is a little gem and the location was absolutely paradise for us. Since we were there in October, it was very nice and quiet overall, the tavernas and beaches all around still lively, but never full. In the small apartment there is everything you need, if something is still missing, you are guaranteed to get it from the hosts. The view of the sea from the windows is indescribably beautiful! If you like to cook yourself, you have to adjust to a very well-functioning single induction hot plate and a mini fridge where you can't stock much. But it worked out very well for us. Gogo and Lefteris are very friendly, accommodating people who go above and beyond to make the stay as comfortable as possible. We will be happy to come back!

This is a great apartment, centrally located and really useful amenities such as the washing machine. The roof terrace is a great sun trap with views to the sea. It's shared with the other holiday apartment but this posed no problem for us and we found it available to use when we wanted. Nikos's parents brought us home made pastries on two mornings. We'd recommend eating out at Scala and Scirocco, but loads of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The two local beaches were close by. A great apartment and we'd strongly recommend it.
