Vacation rentals with a kayak in Machar

Paula made our stay amazing again! The fire was going and the place was toasty warm. We were lucky enough to be there while the goats were having their babies and Paula let all 5 kids stay out with her for hours. We all had an amazing peaceful weekend. Highly recommend!

The place was as described and the host made sure to check in with us via email before, during and after our stay. The home was clean and exactly what we were looking for. Thank you for helping us make our few days away as relaxing as we had hoped.

Derek's place gave a perfect ending to our summer vacation! Very family friendly with all the features just as described, and even more (go explore around!). In addition to other good reviews, always fast respond and so nice to offer some supplies we forgot to put in the luggage; surprisingly we found some chopsticks in the kitchen which is really considerate! Definitely recommend Derek's lovely place ❤️

We and our dogs had a fantastic stay over the Thanksgiving weekend! The cottage was very clean, spacious and had everything you needed. We loved using the wood burning sauna and the fire pit and appreciated that the firewood was provided. Rebecca responded very quickly to any questions we had. I would highly recommend this cottage.

This Lake Nipissing rental was very much what we were looking for to do an ice fishing outing for 6 mostly retired guys – it was almost directly in from Lonely Island (about 1.5k walk). The actual cottage is very large, and it was nice having 2 ½ baths. The kitchen is very big with a huge island that also works as a pub height dinning area and there are tons of cabinets with all of the kitchen utensils/accessories you’ll need to make great meals. There are a few rough areas, which comes from a lot of use (e.g., trim work, a few chips, dents and worn chairs, shower heads, etc.), but for a northern cottage rental I would say it would be 4 to 4.5 stars and for an ice fishing choice I must give it 5 stars. I will very much consider this location again if we decide to do another ice fishing trip to this location again in the future and if you were doing a non-winter trip, I’m sure this location would be a perfect area with boat access and placement on the water for a large family outing.

We came in from Alberta for a wedding in the area, and stayed at Tara’s place. It was much larger than we had imagined, and the property was just gorgeous! We would absolutely book with Tara again if we were back in the area.

This was the first Airbnb that I ever booked and Andrea and Tom made it so easy! Andrea answered all of my questions quickly and never made me feel like I was bothering her. I asked to change something and she was more than accommodating for us. We stayed in January so didn’t get to enjoy the outdoors as it was -27 but we certainly enjoyed the indoors and the beautiful view! It was such a wonderful spot. I’m a little bit of a clean freak and this felt like home. Everything was so clean and there is nothing you will need. We had room for 2 families to stay without tripping over each other and we were able to play some board games together as well. Lots of space. Also has a cute cubby for someone to sleep in and all our kids wanted that spot. Both families are interested in renting this spot again in the summer so we can enjoy the outdoor part of it but I would recommend this spot and these hosts to anyone! We loved this cottage and this is our second visit this time of the year. There is beautiful large table to serve meals, spacious kitchen with plenty of storage place and 2 fridges. Cozy atmosphere with a wood burning fireplace and an additional playroom/ family room. There is plenty of outdoor activities including walking, skiing (Sir Sam’s is nearby), cross country skiing or skating. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

We had an unforgettable 2 night stay at the hideaway! Super cozy and homey cottage with beautiful views in a very serene and peaceful area. A true winter wonderland. The space was very rustic and charming. Bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking meals and the dining area very well laid out next to it. The living room was extremely cozy and relaxing to hang out in, especially with a lit fire. Getting there was easy, parking was easy, checking in and out, a breeze. Both Sarah and Matt were very responsive, kind and accessible hosts. We’d definitely book with the again and stay at their cottage!

Justin’s Airbnb was a beautiful and wonderful experience! Very fast response times and made our check in a smooth and easy process. The cottage was also more than equipped from kitchen utensils all the way to kayak , canoes and life jackets even some feminine hygiene products! All in all the Airbnb is located in a beautiful spot and was such a great experience I would definitely come back and spend time here again!

The cottage was lovely - had everything available, from kitchen supplies (+), outdoor activities (kayak, canoe, paddle boards, peddle boat, ladder ball, croquet, etc), and lots of movies & books! You can never be bored here or feel like you're missing something. I loved that everything was labelled and organized, so you could always find everything you need. The location is so beautiful and peaceful, and right on the water. My family and I had an amazing time and would come back again! Thank you!!

This is our second time being hosted by Joshua. No problem with communication and always accommodating and responsive. The house was beautiful and spacious for a big group. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything that you need for your stay. Spacious rooms and bathrooms- powder room was a big bonus! We had an amazing view of the lake (best sunset). We also experienced the lunar eclipse as it was timing during our stay- we stayed up to witness it! We went on a little hike around the area and visited the general store which had everything that you need in case you miss something. We felt safe and even met a friendly dog Newman- the kids loved him! We all had an amazing time and hoping to be back in the near future.

The perfect location to the Haliburton Forest! Beautiful spot, clean and cozy, with a nice layout throughout! Beds and pillows were super comfy in all rooms! Well equipped kitchen! Quiet and peaceful with amazing views!

We discovered the perfect secluded getaway in this beautifully maintained property. The grounds were consistently plowed during snowfall, making our winter stay worry-free. The main cottage comfortably accommodated our group of 5, featuring a fully-equipped kitchen and a thoughtful welcome kit with snacks and coffee. Two full bathrooms with provided toiletries made sharing the space easy, and the comfortable beds ensured restful nights. The clean, spacious hot tub was perfect for relaxing after outdoor activities, and the reliable wifi kept us connected. We enjoyed both the excellent heating system and the cozy wood fireplace, all while taking in beautiful waterfront views. Killbear Provincial Park, just 40 minutes away, offered excellent winter hiking. Quick tips: bring extra towels as only one is provided per person, and pack slip-on shoes for travelling between cottages. While water has a slight odour, it tastes perfectly fine. We’d love to return in the summer! Highly recommend!

My friends and I stayed at Hong's place October 2024. We've stayed there before and had a great time, and this time was no different. Even before checking in Hong made sure all questions were answered and gave us a guide to the place and the area. The check in experience was seamless and accommodating, and the cottage was cleaned very well. The cottage itself is so warm and cozy, and the surrounding area is beautiful. We would definitely stay here again!

Such an amazing winter getaway! Snow cleared, fire still going when I arrived, lights on. Truly a fantastic stay!

It was our second stay Dee's place for a ladies weekend. This is one of our favourite spots! Comfy beds, each bedroom with a bathroom, 2 large seating areas, well equipped kitchen. And Dee is quick to respond to any questions. Thanks again Dee!

I can't thank Tiffany and Pat enough for being amazing hosts and helping me through a difficult time. I stayed there on two separate occasions. The location of the house is right on the lake and sitting and watching the sun rise was beautiful. Narrows Convience Store is down the street and so is Mikisew Provinvial Park. The house has all the amenities (more than any other Airbnb I have stayed at). I would rats it more than 5 stars if I could. Thanks again so much!

I would 100% stay here again. The apartment was fantastic, extremely clean and cozy! We didn't have many concerns or requirements during our stay, so we didn't have much interaction with Marsha outside of our check in and check out instructions. Check in was super easy and directions were clear. Check out was also extremely simple and had extremely basic requests for checking out. If you are looking to stay in the area, I would for sure recommend staying with Marsha.

What a magical place! The cabin was exactly as described and had a really warm, comfy feeling. We were travelling as a couple with 4 young kids (no small feat!), and we were totally comfortable and found the cabin stocked with everything we needed. Travelling in the middle of quite a big snowstorm, we were a little concerned about finding the place and the long driveway in. The directions, however, were really clear and the driveway was really well ploughed, and this was so appreciated. Matt and Lori also checked in frequently to make sure everything was great. Thank you for a great little escape!

Exactly as pictured/described, everything you need. Lixin is very friendly and responsive. Helpful with any questions you may have. Kids loves the bunk beds and we had a blast. Looking into booking in the summer.

Lovely place, Brendon responded quickly to any questions we had. Was clean and fun; my lady whooped my a** in foosball. Even with all the snow. He had snow-plows come regularly everyday. With It being a blizzard out we did not have to worry at all about being stuck. Views of the lake were stunning. Can’t wait to come back.

Best cabin-in-the-woods weekend ever! Perfect spot for hiking, kayaking, movie watching, and board games. Bill went above and beyond to make the trip go smoothly.
