Family-friendly vacation rentals in Lake Tawakoni

Very peaceful and beautiful place, my family and I enjoyed it so much, my 70 old father and the adult grandkids said that is the new family vacation spot for summers when we go to visit our daughter. Very rustic, but well taken care of property. My dad loved the coffee they provided.

I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place!!! This house was gorgeous and very well-kept! The owners thought of everything that travelers may need. They also had various snacks, movies, and games for the children. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The owners have bird feeders up, so it was really nice getting to see all the birds flying around the backyard. There were so many beautiful cardinals and we saw 1 blue jay. Stephanie and Jan were such friendly and amazing people! Whatever we needed, they always answered quickly. The home was very comfortable and we had such a good stay! We were even allowed to have visitors! Most of the Airbnbs that we have stayed at did not allow visitors, so it was nice to be able to have our family over. We will definitely stay here again!

It was a perfect location and wonderful, lovely accommodations! For us it was great to get away for a few days, hiking, resting and of course the hot tub....

This was a comfy place to stay with our teen boys. It has a full kitchen with more appliances and pans than we could imagine using in a short stay! The carriage-house is tastefully decorated and suitable for men and boys as well as women (as in not completely covered in cat prints and floral patterns - lol). The hosts, Mike and Barbara, are wonderfully thoughtful and gracious. They took the time to give us a tour of the Manor House. We enjoyed chatting with them.

Booked the airbnb for my bridal party the night before my wedding and my now husband for the night of the wedding, and it was perfect! Even with the snow, John communicated clearly what we should do in order for the faucets not to freeze. The oil heaters were already set up and on when we got there and it was an amazing stay. Will definitely come back if we are back in the area!

Great place to crash, with peaceful quiet surroundings. The place was very clean and matched the description perfectly.

John's place has a beautiful view of the lake with nice porches to hang out. The house is decorated with unique items that are interesting to look at. I was able to relax and unwind. He is a very responsive host and I look forward to returning.

Bob was a very helpful and flexible host. The house was great and scenery was beautiful. Definitely will be coming back in the future.

Would be happy to stay here again if I was in the area. The house has plenty of space and is comfortable. We were there during the off season and it was quiet and peaceful. What an amazing view from the living room, kitchen, and two of the bedrooms! We used the kitchen daily and found everything we needed was readily available. The yard is surprisingly large and our dogs loved walking on the property and the neighborhood (on leash of course!). Morgan was a great host and checked in through the app to make sure everything was going well.

The best Airbnb I have stayed in. So many amenities like records and a record player. It is super relaxing listing to the night critters next to a camp fire. I booked this trip to get away from downtown Dallas, it gave me everything I need. They own an antique store in Winnsboro where all guests get a discount. Such great living out here, will 100% be back. THANK YOU!

We have stayed at this house 4 times now. We LOVE it! The house is beautiful and has everything you need. The beds are comfortable. The view is amazing. We absolutely love getting to use their boats in the private lake. This house is so special to us and we always have such a great time and make wonderful memories. Dennis is a great host and is always there to answer questions. I highly recommend this beautiful cabin!

This was a great place to stay! The home and property were beautiful and in a very peaceful location. The weekly cleaning service was amazing for our group. Kathy and Jeff were very helpful and communicative as well. I would recommend being hosted by them to anyone and would definitely stay there again!

This was the perfect setting for our large family get-together. They really make the best use of this space, inside and out. The access to the lake was awesome. The grounds are set up with so many options for kids and adults. We were able to visit and relax while the kids entertained themselves on the putting green, swingset, or lakeshore. I would definitely book this again.

Our family of six enjoyed our Thanksgiving stay at the Winding Ridge Bed and Breakfast. The house is spacious, peaceful and had all the needed items to make us right at home. The donkeys, goats and horses on the property were adorable and we enjoyed feeding them everyday. The tranquility of the property is priceless 🤩.

Place was awesome and Lawana was very nice and communicative. We really enjoyed it and will be back. Only bummer was that the hot tub was broke so we didn’t get to use it but otherwise was a great stay.

Beautiful family retreat with access to the most peaceful lake. Trips on the paddle boat, the fire pit, great handout and sleeping spaces make this an ideal spot for holidays and vacations. I highly recommend and hope to return! The place is very clean, well stocked (no dishwasher though!), bedding is comfy and plentiful, and the host is excellent and helpful!

Briana is such a lovely and accommodating host. This was our second stay at Christmas time and they have the house decorated for the holidays. Nice touch! Tons of room to spread out for large groups and lots of fun things to do without ever leaving the house! Great for family reunions, holidays, etc. We will definitely come back!

Fabulous home perfect for our large family celebration of mother’s 80th birthday! The cabin was well stocked large pots to cook with and plenty of everything! It was the perfect space and so welcoming!! Thank you to our wonderful hosts Julie and Sarah!
