Vacation rentals in La Chorrera, San Carlos

The Toucan nest is a wonderful spot. Check in was easy thanks to Surens instructions and access to so much in the Arenal region is simple thanks to the location. The house is large and easily accommodated our stay and I would happily stay again.

Highly recommend Magdalena’s place! It was in the perfect location and she was so helpful, friendly and communicative. Easy check and she left us fresh eggs from her chickens. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely rent again! Thanks for being such a great host!

I've stayed in a lot of AirBnBs over the years, but I have never had my expectations exceeded like this place. It was very spacious inside, and outside had the most beautiful grounds I've ever been in with covered decks (on two floors) to take them in. We ate breakfast on the veranda, with hundreds of bright, tropical birds coming close to check in with us. It was paradise for the birds. And also paradise to be served breakfast by Miriam, who lives on the propoerty and takes care of the guests and house. The breakfast was delicious and completely unexpected. As was her offer to take care of our laundry, which came at the perfect time in the trip. That was topped off by Grant's friendly and invitiving communications. Thank you for an over the top exerience.

Very nice stay, despite constant rain ( not Mario’s fault!). The grounds are beautiful and unique. We were able to easily sleep 13 people in 5 rooms. The kids room is really for kids (king bed + 3 twin beds). The location was fantastic, nearby everything. Good recommendations. Kitchen is fully outdoors with a cover, so just be prepared to enjoy the wild of Costa Rica everywhere. The pool and grounds were beautiful. Laundry room also helped!

Amazing stay at Fermin’s unit. The room is exactly as described and shown in the photos, and the view is even more breathtaking in person!! The restaurant on site is also great and so is the complimentary breakfast in the morning! Above all we really appreciated how attentive Fermin was as our host. He helped us book tours during our stay that made our trip so much more special, and gave us so much information about things to do locally around the lake area. Staff is also on site a lot during the day and evening to help with any issues or questions which was extremely helpful for us as well. We would 100% come back to stay at Fermin’s property and will remember our stay forever!! A must book if you’re going to be in Arenal!!! Thank you Fermin !

Our group of 8 adults and 2 teenagers stayed at Allan & Jorge’s villa, and it exceeded all our expectations. The villa offered the perfect balance of privacy and a shared space, ideal for our group. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and communication with our hosts was seamless. We especially appreciated the thoughtful welcome gift of fruit and drinks. Thank you, Allan & Jorge!

Even after reading reviews and looking at the pictures, I wasn’t prepared for how beautiful this place was. All of the outdoor seating is completely surrounded by lush, tropical plants so it feels very private. From the listing I thought the outdoor seating with barstools might be a shared space, but it isn’t- the windows open straight into the kitchen. 1000% would stay again!

Mandi is a great host! We loved her kitchen with big glass windows over looking her garden. We saw some exotic birds visiting!

This place was literally perfect for what my father and i had planned to do in la fortuna! The host was extremely friendly and greeted us once we arrived, provided details with the place and explained to us how to get around. The home was comfortable and we were out for most of the day so it provided all that we needed. Very clean as well. Thank you for such an amazing stay. Would recommend it to anyone visiting la fortuna !

We enjoyed our stay! It's a nice, clean home with scenic views in an authentic, safe community. We bought a few basics for breakfast (eggs, queso blanco, milk, coffee, juice) at the nearby community mini-market (a few blocks away) so we could make breakfast at the place. If you want fresh fruits & veggies, you should stop at a bigger market on your way (La Fortuna? Or El Castillo?). We ate dinner twice at the nearby La Terraza restaurant, which was good. We loved the batidos de fruta (fruit smoothies/shakes - 'de leche' ('of milk') . My favorite is the batido de papaya (de leche). My kids also tried the strawberry, pineapple, maracuya (and I think others, too!). We enjoyed the dishes we had there, too. Internet at the house can be spotty, but there's some cell reception, too. If you're on vacation and just checking your email from time to time and researching things to do in the area, it's fine; if you're looking to be a digital nomad, this is probably not the place for you.

Great location, peaceful and away from the bustle, yet still within walking distance of La Fortuna town. The cabin is nestled in beautiful gardens and foliage. The rooms are spacious, and Jessy was incredibly responsive to all of our requests and questions. Unfortunately, we had cloudy weather during our stay, so we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the Arenal view. However, we’re sure it must be breathtaking on a clear, sunny day!
