Private suite vacation rentals in Kona

J-M's cottage was an oasis of tranquil greenery, frogs, birds, views, and peace. The cottage is charming, spotless, and has a view of the ocean and surrounding garden. The kitchen and bathroom are well appointed and the bed was luxurious. Being away from the hustle of town was lovely for us, yet access to town was extremely easy. The hosts were amazing and welcoming. Thank you for sharing this piece of paradise with us!

Rob and Liz have a lovely place, and they are on top of all the details a traveler might need. Excellent communication and directions, super friendly, and a fantastic place to stay. Easy walk to the beach, great deck with visiting geckos, and fresh plumeria flowers on our car every morning (they sure smell good!). We couldn't have asked for nicer accommodations!

Loved the pool and the puzzles. Very accommodating for a last minute booking. Clean and comfortable.

What a wonderful place to stay and really thoughtful, communicative hosts! Jeff and Sheri have thought of everything and Jeff was full of helpful suggestions for things to do and see around Kona. The house was extremely clean and well-appointed. The neighborhood was quiet and close to everything. Loved staying here!

We had a wonderful stay at Linda’s Airbnb! The studio is spacious, well stocked & feels very peaceful. The location is great to explore the island for people who like a more quiet environment than Kona’s. We will definitely consider coming back to Linda’s Airbnb if we ever come back to Big Island! Very Hawaiian feel! Comfortable and well-stocked with beach items. We should have spent more time here. Highly recommend!

Francesca’s place was great! A very close drive from the airport and easy commute into town.

We had a fantastic stay at Jennifer’s place! The space was cozy, spotless, and felt very private—perfect for a relaxing getaway. Jennifer has thought of everything, providing tons of amenities like beach towels, snorkel gear, aloe, coolers, and more. The instructions for the space were clear and easy to follow, and we really appreciated the thoughtful restaurant recommendations. On top of that, the beautiful garden was a lovely bonus to explore. We would absolutely stay here again!

Enjoyed exploring a new part of the island. Debby’s space was just perfect as a home base while I did so. Close to Punuluu Black Sand Beach, Green Sands and Volcanos if you like to hike. Hosts were friendly and super responsive. Would stay again.

This room and bathroom are part of an extended house. It shares a wall and a floor with another house so you can hear the other people a little bit but not bad. It’s a spacious room for two people. Large bathroom. Microwave and mini fridge thoughtful Items included like sunblock and oatmeal, utensils, beach towels… It’s a little ways outside of town and a little ways up the hill. It’s a good homebase for exploring. I don’t think you would want to be here unless you have a car, it’s not a place that’s good for Walking from or biking from. It is a very good value for a room not far from Kona! We went up the hill into Kaloko and found some amazing hikes through Fern Forest. Dropped down the hill and explored out through lava fields to find little coral coves with Azure water, gorgeous area and a lot to explore. Caleb’s place is a solid homebase for an excellent price.

We had a 5-night stay at James & Hans’ from Feb 23-28, 2025 and overall had a wonderful stay. PROS: We were pleasantly surprised with all the extra local goodies they provided for us (local beers, coffee, snacks). I really appreciated the water refill station. They left us plenty of clean towels, linens, and beach equipment as well! We made use of the record player, air conditioning, and enjoyed the variety of plants around the pool. We ran into James one day in person and he was the friendliest host who answered all our questions and gave us golf course, cocktail bar, and restaurant recommendations. CONS: There are a few dogs around the area that woke us up prematurely. We saw a large centipede and a couple of roaches outdoors by the pool (but none in our room). TIPS: For future guests, beware that there is a second road on the island with the same name that appears on Google maps that is about an hour further south of the place. Overall would recommend! The place was clean.

We had a wonderful time!! Great views and a beautiful place. The bed was comfortable and the place was equipped with everything you could possibly need. We really enjoyed sitting on the lanai by the fire pit in the evening and the beach chairs made our trip to the so much nicer.

What an absolute blessing of a stay. A complete Gem of a place to stay AND a host. We couldn't be happier with where we were and how it felt to be there. Truly felt like home. Her kindness and generosity is unparalleled and anyone lucky enough to stay here should consider themselves blessed. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for home away from home.

Tiffany and Nick were absolutely amazing hosts.!!!! They were very communicative, super friendly, definitely gave Aloha spirit, gave recommendations, and just were amazing, definitely will come here again!! This place is amazing for a single or two people! Such a cute little space!! Also you’ll be greeted by their loving adorable Animals!!!! Mahalo Nui loa for such an incredible stay. Great place to stay in Kona!

This place was a gem! It was immaculate, full of natural light with a beautiful deck and Bbq where we ate our meals accompanied by bird song and the sound of ocean waves! It was so close to our favorite beaches and a short walking distance to ocean access with a myriad of turtles! Wendy thank you for the welcome fruit and beach chairs, umbrella,cooler and great beach towels! The kitchen was also well stocked! Who could ask for more in Paradise!!

This was the perfect spot for my stay in Kona. Dean was quick with responses, and sent me a message to let me know that the room was ready early which was great as I arrived to the island earlier than I was originally planning. The studio had everything I needed for my stay. And the outdoor shower, while different, was really nice. I would definitely stay again, and I will be recommending his place to many friends.

This was our second stay at Paul's beautiful house. What a special place! We're already looking forward to our next visit. The house is a peaceful, clean and quiet retreat, and had everything we needed for our home base. Watching birds and whales from the patio and pool was delightful. What a dreamy place to spend a week!

We had a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful. The fresh fruits and waking up to such an amazing view were highlights of our trip. We found it to be a very peaceful and relaxing place to come home to after our days of exploring. Not too far to some great beaches and lots of great restaurants nearby, especially if you like the more local spots outside of town. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

This is a thoughtfully planned place. Everything we needed was anticipated. We never spoke with our host but didn't need to. Our stay was very pleasant, the area was quiet. The unit had lots of amenities as represented. Parking place worked well. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was functional. Magic Sands Beach is treacherous with rocks, waves, on reviews for the beach people say it is known by the local E.R. for injuries. There are better beaches you can drive to though. Kahala'u is near, had very helpful staff/lifeguards pay to park but the funds are well used. It was difficult for beginners to get into but doable. All in all a very nice place. We are greatful for our stay. Mahalo

Quite, very clean and private! Kitchen has everything you need for cooking! Very comfortable, feels like home. I had a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended!

The space matched exactly what was listed. No surprises. It was easy to locate with google maps. The location was great. Just a short drive to grocery stores or anything else you need. It was great to have a designated parking spot for the rental car. This didn’t bother me, but be aware you are staying in the ground floor section of a home. There is a family above you so you may hear walking around. The neighborhood is quiet (except the dang coqui frogs at night. Took me a minute to figure out what that was!) This place is perfect for a single person or a couple. I would recommend it.
