Waterfront vacation rentals in Kawakawa

This property was the cleanest and best provided that I have stayed in in NZ.The owners were never obtrusive but always available. A car is necessary but all amenities are within easy reach. I highly recommend this property for families .

Swiss Chalet is located in central Paihia. The beach closest to the accommodation is 40 m away but it is rocky. However, 2 beaches, a short walk from the BNB are both sandy, clean, amazing. I liked staying in the main town of Paihia because there are lots of restaurants, shopping, and of course 2 beaches to chose from. The ferry to Russell is very close. Tour bus pick up 2 blocks away. The accommodation is not fancy but definitely adequate. Having a small kitchen and washer for my 1 week stay was perfect. Hosts were friendly and informative. It is by no means luxury but it is perfect for comfort and convenience.

One of the things that’s hard about finding a place in a new place is the sense of relative distances. We were further outside of town than we had expected, but man was it worth it. The views down to the bay were spectacular. And being from the northern hemisphere, the night sky is of particular interest. We were lucky with high pressure, so being just far enough outside of town gave us breathtaking star gazing. Jo was so helpful in making suggestions for places to see, quickly able to help us prioritize based on the way we roll, a good mix of walking and driving, a wonderful resource and real hospitality pro. Already looking forward to our next visit.

We couldn’t believe that the apartment was all ours! We didn’t need all the room. There was enough kitchen stuff to easily cook dinner and our view was better than any restaurant in town. Very comfortable king bed and our car was in a garage.

Lovely place nestled in the hills of Russell. Little drive into the main town but nice relaxed area. Place was spacious. There are a few other rooms but not really an issue. Views are great.

Wendy’s Apartment was perfectly located in the middle of Paihia, which is a beautiful place! We had a great view of the NYE25 Fireworks from the beach opposite. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with a lovely terrace to dine on. Beds were very comfy. Aircon in all rooms a bonus! Communication with Wendy was excellent and self check-in was easy. Lots of great restaurants and close supermarkets. We had delicious meals at Glasshouse and Zane’s. We thoroughly enjoyed our Island Getaway Hole in the Rock 4.5hrs cruise. For day trips, we drove north to 90 mile beach and west to a Kauri forest. Bay of islands is a stunning place to visit and we highly recommend it!

An absolute dream house! Stunning apartment with a gorgeous view. You definitely feel like spending a holiday with style :) Breakfast at Seaside restaurant are mind blowing! Best coffee in town. Plus! You get a discount :) We had the best time there. Will definitely recommend and we will repeat! Thanks!

Laura’s place was a lovely place to stay. It had a beautiful view and even on a rainy weekend it was lovely to sit and watch the water! The apartment had everything we needed, we would definitely come back to stay again!

We had such a great time at Chloe and Ben's. It was clean and spacious, 1 min walk (if that) to the estuary and five minutes to the lovely surf beach so you could visit several times a day. It didn't need to be a big complicated affair as it was so easy to nip back to the house for food etc. The shower was awesome - very strong pressure. Everything was provided - linen, blankets, pillows, glasses, cutlery etc and all in great condition - and the kitchen was well equipped, including dishwasher and lots of good pans. Loved that we could eat outside on the deck, there was a fenced yard for the dog to run (he was in heaven), plus a trampoline, barbecue and fire pit. The view from the deck was stunning, and the overall vibe of the place was so friendly - from other holidaymakers with kids to the people working at the campsite. Would definitely book again.

Hosts extremely friendly & helpful. Found extra toys for our Grandchildren including beach toys. Nothing missing! Can’t recommend highly enough.

Amazing location! Very private and romantic. The area itself doesn’t have a lot of food options so having a fully equipped kitchen was great! Host had cupboard staples that made a big difference. The place itself was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay.

Karl was a fantastic host, with a great property in an idyllic location. This would be a great getaway for a number of couples, or a couple of families. There are lots of spaces to hang out - inside and out - as well as the jacuzzi, which is the cherry on top.

Great stay mark was easy to communicate with and the location is just amazing also the pizza oven was the cherry recommended to some friends and they also are planning to book.

We had a fantastic stay - could not fault the location - absolute perfection 👌 House was ideal for our family of five and doggo. Hosts were quick to answer any queries. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, right across from the estuary. Nice stroll to shops and good base to explore the Tutakaka Coast.

A lovely home with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Come for the home stay for the view! A spectacular vista, from the Whiria Pa, across the harbour to the golden sand dunes. Also, a great selection of books to while away the hours 🙂 We had the generous bonus of using the down stairs spa as there were no guests. perfect!

Lovely balcony over looking marina. Marina is quiet and the backdrop views are great. The only negative is the toilet is downstairs and for an old bloke trips down from the lovely studio bedroom were problematic 😀. Other than that highly recommend the place

It was a lovely relaxing spot to spend a week in a rural setting with sea views out to the Poor Knights islands. A large property, accessed off a private road so very secluded and peaceful. Handy location half way between Matapouri Bay and Tutukaka, although you do need a car to go anywhere. Kitchen was very well equipped including basic supplies. Access to an indoor swimming pool, ability to charge the EV, and use of the laundry was a bonus. The hosts were very welcoming on arrival and explained the facilities and beach access path. Special touches were a bottle of wine and locally made nut brittle on arrival, and acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary which was during our stay. Annette and Bianca were super helpful and responded promptly to any questions.

For a winter break it really was perfect. Best spot ever. The best part....The people! Friendly, helpful. Kind. Every eatery was great. Op shop for fishing clothes too! Had great fishing with " Buckos" Dont miss it! Will return. Thankyou. BnM

Absolutely beautiful location right across down a gorgeous private swimming beach. Apartment was super clean and looked after with lots of extra provisions, breakfast, toiletries, towels etc. Thank you Linda for such a wonderful time at One Tree Point. 10/10
