Family-friendly vacation rentals in Kathmandu

I loved every last moment of my 55 days at Abhaya’s home. A very short walk to many shops and restaurants, but on a sweet back road with a slower pace. The apartment felt warm, comfortable, and private - but with the timely care of a wonderful and friendly family. Everything was available and managed incredibly well. More than just thankful for the experience, I was touched that a family had such time and guidance for someone such as myself - who just happened to make this booking on AirBnb. Thank you so much for everything! For sure I hope to consider this my home base in the future while in Kathmandu, and I do hope to make it back very soon.

Ranju and Uttam were very hospitable. They made us feel very comfortable very quickly. The accommodation is nice and warm, it felt like home. Even though we were short here, they were generous in offering us their help with our trip and to discover Kathmandu and the surroundings. We will be happy to book again, and highly recommend them of course:)

She was the best in everything. From attention to my communication to attention to detail. I was invited for a meal upon arrival and before my departure to Lumbini province when I was given a nice dinner. I am treatest the best here. Every concern is adressed very well. If you want to be taken care of very well in your stay, I strongly recommend staying at any of her properties. Value and location was excellent too.

Situated in peaceful residential area. Google sometimes shows thin lanes as best route. Always coordinate with the owner. He was very helpful. My only concern was that there were no fan in the rooms. Though not required throughout the year in Kathmandu but in June it was hot and humid.

I can't recommend this homestay enough! Ram and his sweet family make you feel welcome from day one, but also give you space and privacy to do your own thing. I stayed in this very comfortable apartment for 5 nights and felt very relaxed. I even had the pleasure of sharing dinner with the family one evening. On the day I was supposed to fly something came up and immediately Ram stepped in to help me sort it out. Next time I'm in Kathmandu, I'll be back for sure!

The apartment felt like home the moment I walked in the entrance door. The apartment was spacious and well equipped with everything needed. The location was a pleasant 20 minute walk through a safe and friendly Nepali neighborhood to the Thamel area. The host was superb. He responded to messages in a timely manner, provided information on dinning, shopping, and attractions in Kathmandu.

I had a great stay at Urban Retreat Studio Apartments. It is located in a convenient location of Lalitpur and is very walkable. The room was spacious, open, and very bright with lots of windows. Parbat, the host, was very responsive and quick to answer and accommodate my questions. I'd recommend this place for those looking for a studio apartment in the heart of Kathmandu.

Very beautiful apartment. All amenities available, no need to ask anything, everything you need is already present inside Very helpful host. Location is in a peaceful area, no noise or disturbance.

Fantastic location right in the centre and great value for money. We loved the huge balcony area with rocking chairs. The host was lovely and always very helpful with speedy responses with any issues. We look forward to staying again.

It was great stay

My son and I stayed at Rabin's unit for two weeks in February because my son was playing a tennis tournament nearby. About the place: We stayed at the unit with the attached kitchen and bathroom - the unit is exactly as in the photographs, clean, roomy and has a small kitchenette. Rooms were cleaned once a week, and fresh linen and towels were provided. What struck me the most is that Rabin is the most genuinely nice and helpful person I've met. For example, when my son's shoes gave way in the midst of the second week, Rabin personally assisted me in getting them repaired. Rabin, his lovely wife, and his wonderful parents made us feel at ease and safe - they took excellent care of us! added bonus: Rabin is a good cook!

The host was incredibly gracious and very responsive to make our time at the flat enjoyable. It is a good location, and the flat was nice and clean and a good space. Great value! For any who have not visited Nepal, there are always unexpected things to deal with that can't be fully controlled, but Puru Sir went out of his way to deal with anything that came up and was very kind and helpful for the visit. The space is in a gated community but right next to a main road, so it is safe and calm but also quite convenient for getting anywhere.

We stayed at Pramods place for 3 nights. Mr Pramod was personally available to welcome us. It's an apartment located near the ring road area with easy access to city. We parked our car in the basement and took taxi to explore the city. Hot water was available 24/7. Safe and secured place too.

Perfect place in Kathmandu for short and long-term stays. Flats are comfortably equipped with all the needed amenities, as depicted in photos. Best silent location away from pollution and the rush of the city, yet in walking distance to the center. Urmila and her family are all very helpful in assisting you in every situation to make your stay most comfortable. I will stay again in the future. Thank you.

Good stay, considerate hosting. Old style hospitality missing in most of South Asia nowadays. Homely and seeped in knowledge culture.

Our stay at Subu & Malas place was better that we could have asked for. For being in one of the most active, fun, and engaging areas of Kathmandu, the space itself feels like an oasis away from the world. Subu & Mala were also great at helping us arrange a ride to the airport, and understanding with any incidents we had along the way.

Our Stay in Sunrise apartments has been fantastic! At first we were worried we would be too far away from everything to move around comfortably, but right away Gokul and his wife eased our worries and we just loved the area- quiet, peaceful and close enough to get to everything. They were so helpful from the beginning and exceptionally accommodating and kind. They were absolutely great hosts, always responsive and very helpful all throughout our stay. We were so happy with the house, it was very comfortable and clean and had great Wi-Fi for working abroad. We were very pleased with the place and will definitely return. We highly recommend this air bnb!!

This place is amazing! It is in the heart of a walkable section of the city. There is so much to do in the surrounding area. The view is amazing. The home is comfortable. And the hosts are incredible. I definitely recommend booking this place!

We thought the little house built into the backyard was super cute. It's quiet. Everything is very tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything you need. We didn't cook, though. We felt very comfortable there. Everyone has different tastes, but for us, it was a perfect place to stay; we'd love to come back. The hosts were responsive, and everything was perfect.

I highly recommend Pasang's place. The apartment is clean and comfortable, the building is safe and secure, and Pasang is very friendly and helpful. The apartment is also in a great location - it's on a quiet street off the main road and is easily walkable to restaurants, shops, etc. This was my second time staying here, and I look forward to staying again in the future.
