We loved our stay at Sam’s place. Island Beach is absolutely stunning, so peaceful and quiet and private, but close enough to Penneshaw and activities to keep us amused. Authenticity Beachhouse was so well situated, with great sea views, and had heaps of space and amenities perfect for our family of four…with an extra room to spare. Sam has thought of everything, and we loved all of the little extras he provided that helped make our holiday more fun - boogie boards, snorkel equipment, beach chairs and tent, lots of outdoor and indoor seating, plus the Hamptons style decor was so lovely. Thanks for a really lovely stay Sam. Our kids have already asked when we are coming back to visit again!

Kevin was a wonderful, responsive host who made us feel very welcome in his home. I would highly recommend a stay at White Shells to anyone seeking a memorable family holiday.

We loved having both a sea view and a river view from the house, and being able to walk straight onto the beach from the back gate. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.

Very well designed living space with excellent facilities makes this a wonderful place to stay for as many days as you can manage. Helpful and rapid communication from Jayne, who is an active volunteer for a variety of local activities and therefore very knowledgeable and happy to share her justifiable enthusiasm for the island. The little museum in the old school nearby is well worth an hour of your time. Pristine swimming beach (it's shallow for a long way out) on your doorstep for those pre-breakfast dips. At the time of writing, work is taking place improving the ferry terminal, but doesn't much interfere with the peace and quiet. Large cruise ships are frequent visitors for 1 day. Highly recommended.

Julie's place offers a real beach house experience - a north facing home elevated on columns to achieve open vistas from the living areas over native foreshore vegetation and a clear view of the beach and waterfront, and a panorama from headland to headland. This is enhanced further by the wide shaded balcony with ample outdoor furniture. Access to the beach is on a short sandy path through the foreshore planting, and the beach is calm, protected, clean and long, ideal for swimming and walking. The undercroft of the house provides access to a 'mud room' laundry and additional toilet and equipment for beach days. There is undercover parking for cars in this area if desired. The style of the house is casual but well cared for, clean and very well equipped. Julie provided the provisions for not only the normal tea and coffee making but enough for a light meal on our arrival, which was much appreciated. There was generous provision of other supplies, sufficient for our stay.

Great house for a group of people. Bedrooms were a good size, big fenced yard to play in and a very equipped kitchen. Having to bring linen is a bit of a pain but otherwise a great house. Beautiful location, we saw kangaroos and echidnas from the balcony. We would book again.

Narelle was so wonderful to communicate with, very accommodating and her home was fabulous! The house itself is gorgeous, sparklingly clean and having access to a pool and the beach right at your doorstep is the dream for a summer getaway. My friends and I absolutely loved our stay and will for sure be back - can't fault a thing!

We had a lovely few days at Villa 66! The accomodation was clean, spacious, had all the facilities we required, and more! The host was friendly and responsive. The kids are looking forward to returning soon.

Beautiful villa with lots of space for a joint family holiday. Great games room for the kids with extra futon beds. Big open deck and open plan lounge and kitchen area with lots of natural light. Onsite pool is fantastic and heated. Nice natural grounds and surroundings. Short walk 1.2km along beach to Normanville. Would definitely stay again.

Such an amazing house and host. Our family loved staying at Hawks Nest whilst we travelled around Kangaroo Island. The house, the creek, the beach - everything was perfect and Kirsty and Chris were fantastics hosts. The special guest kangaroos outside our window every night were a treat too. Really can't recommend this enough. Thank you Kirsty and Chris for letting us share in your little slice of paradise.

Great little spot, gated community so felt quite safe. Lots to do for kids (pool, playground, short walk to beach, park). Overall clean home and very responsive host.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at Cara. The house was a lovely comfortable space, and had everything we needed plus more, including table tennis table, beach gear, bikes, games, dvds... Amenities were great, exactly as described. The air con worked very well on the super hot days, and at night we opened the windows for a nice breeze. We could hear the ocean at night. The location is perfect, an easy walk to the beach. Also a short drive to the shops in Normanville or Yankalilla, and Normanville is also a good walk along the beach. We also walked to the pizza place Side Hustle, but had to book the pizzas in the morning as they sell out early! James and Kate were excellent hosts, and provided clear and helpful information. Highly recommend.

Eva's place was nice and modern. The selection of amenities was nice and the location is very convenient to walk around the town of Kingscote.

We loved our stay at Liam’s place! The location was perfect, just a short walk to a stunning and family-friendly beach. The house was great for our young family, with a large well equipped kitchen and a lovely outdoor deck. We enjoyed the beautiful natural surroundings and daily visits from wallabies, which the kids loved. Liam was very responsive, friendly and helpful with recommendations. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We highly recommend the „Cheeky Wren“ and are already planning our next visit to Kangaroo Island.

Our family of six adults and two children had a wonderful week in Copperstone in early December 2024. The house is modern, clean and comfortable and has air conditioning, which is needed, especially in the warmer months. The kitchen is well appointed, and the beds are comfortable. We were privileged to experience Kangaroos in the front garden and Koalas in the back garden. As there are no places to purchase provisions in Emu Bay, we would have appreciated a welcome package/gift to include the basic necessities including bread, cereal etc. The nearest supermarket is Drakes in Kingscote, where you can purchase general groceries, meat, poultry, fruit and vegetables. There is a well-stocked bottle-shop in the next street. These facilities are approximately 15 minutes by car (4 wheel recommended) from the house. I recommend this property which overlooks beautiful Emu Bay and is well located. We left feeling that we all had a unique experience and were rejuvenated.

Great location with a fantastic view. Could do with a few upgrades but overall I would have no issues coming back again. Both host excellent service and always answered my questions. The view is the best on the island in my opinion.

Easy to check in, very friendly communication, the location is really peaceful and close to the beach. House is clean and tidy as what in the description. Worth the value and will highly recommended to anyone who wants to visit KI.

We had the most wonderful stay at Melissa's beach shack in Carrickalinga. The house was wonderful for two families, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was absolutely perfect—just a short stroll to one of South Australia's most stunning beaches. Melissa was a fantastic host, with great communication and thoughtful touches that made our stay even more enjoyable. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a beach escape!
