Waterfront vacation rentals in Kandy

Very nice stay. Have laundry machine! Two big and clean rooms. Very nice host who take care of everything.

Just to be clear: this is a simple living type of cottage and the road to get there is tricky (we’d strongly recommend a car with good clearance if you’re coming by car). However, once you get there it is well worth it! The view and tranquility of the place is amazing. Jerry and Sally are super friendly and welcoming and make you feel at home – the door to their neighbouring house (main house) is always open, and you’re welcome to use the pool in their garden, or just hang out and have a chat with them in the living room. They also offer breakfast and dinner (there’s a basic kitchen in the cabin if you want to cook yourself), and this was for us both convenient and very nice – we had some good talks with both Jerry, Sally and their other guests. This was a good starting point for the first (and second) stage of the Pekoe Trail nearby (15/20 min by tuk tuk). We highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at the apartment, lots of space inside, kitchen with everything we needed, washing machine and a nice balcony with lake view and beautiful trees with monkeys playing. Edgar Mansion is a beautiful place! Cavan, Charles and Reggie the chef and his staff are very good, responsive and provided us a wonderful holiday. We were a group of 10 friends and we all really enjoyed ourselves and recommend Edgar Mansion highly. The fotos on the listing didn't do justice to the place. It is surrounded by lush greenery, with the Mahaweli river and dam nearby. We relaxed in the outdoor seating area next to the pool. Reggie made tasty BBQ food. The rooms were all luxurious.

A great apartment within easy walking distance of the lake and temple. The hosts were super friendly, and the accommodation was very clean—we felt right at home and spontaneously extended our stay! Due to the thin Styrofoam gaps at the top of the walls, we occasionally heard some noise from traffic, monkeys, or between our own rooms. That said, we had no issues with mosquitoes or cold air, and we would happily book another stay with Lakmal and his wife!

We had a wonderful two-night stay with our one-year-old son! Even before our arrival, our host Adrian made sure we had everything we needed. On-site, we were warmly welcomed by Emy, the resident manager, who was incredibly kind and even helped arrange the delivery of a delayed luggage piece. The apartment is a true gem—modern, stylish, and much more spacious than expected. The beds were very comfortable, and the pre-ordered dinner was absolutely delicious. The location, right by the river, offers a peaceful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. A small note for families: a baby crib and high chair weren’t available, but Adrian and Emy did their best to accommodate us, and we still felt very well taken care of. We can wholeheartedly recommend this place and would love to return anytime!
