Jade's house on beach is new and fresh. Beach street is amazing and a short walk to the puna trail. Pics totally accurate. Have stayed at oceanfront while on Hilo, and was surprised by the serenity and lack of ocean commotion. Bed was extremely comfortable. Pool was spotless and with the lounge chairs, every day is a pool vaca! Jade is very accommodating and available. Highly recommend! Mike sf

Loved our stay at Michael's. The house had everything we needed with thoughtful amenities that made us feel right at home. Michael was a very responsive host. The house is gorgeous, spacious, comfortable, and private. It was also lovely to be able to walk to the ocean. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer and enjoy the house more! We had so many activities booked in a short amount of time, it would have been nice to lounge more at the house and in the pool. I'm hoping we can return to do just that.

What an experience!! Amazingly beautiful location and well equipped spot! From the sound of the waves hitting the cliffs to the frogs at night. This was by far the most memorable Thanksgiving in my book. Beyond worth the stay… it’s a special spot.

This is a lovely quiet location close to Hilo and Volcano NP. We loved having the pool and the amenities of a well thought out home.

Jessica's place is located across from the ocean in a quiet neighborhood. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. We stayed for 11 days and this central location was perfect for our day trips, visiting the National Volcano Park, South Point and working our way around to Kona and across the saddle road to Mauna Kea summit and back down through Hilo. The pool was a huge plus after our days events and morning/afternoon walks in the neighborhood were very pleasant. We would definitely come back here to stay again. Beautiful home and wonderful host. We had everything we needed or could ask for. Mari was a perfect host answering any questions, providing many local recommendations and even met us at checkin to show us her home. The view was magnificent, opening the doors in the morning and sipping on coffee on the deck watching the sun rise was my daily ritual. It was a nice surprise to have chairs and snorkeling equipment available to us. Grocery and Walmart minutes away for quick pickup items. The must see sights were just 10-20 minutes away. We visited the caves, snorkeling in the bay, national park and the gardens.

Our family loved our stay here. The kids had a blast outside with the pool and trampoline. Kitchen was very spacious, with cleaning instructions that were clearly laid out and easy enough to follow. Location was great for trips to the volcanoes and Hilo (the kids loved exploring Kaumana Caves).

Susan’s home is simple yet comfortable. We were a party of 6, 2 couples and 2 individuals. There was plenty of space for us to gather and still have individual bedrooms and bathrooms. The views from the property were majestic!! The pool was pristine! I truly have to say we were VERY pleased!! If I were to comment about individual preferences (mine & our party’s) some of the beds/bedding were not as comfortable as others, the coffee pots were small, there isn’t a microwave or blender in the main home. We felt the kitchen was minimally equipped but has the necessities…We purchased floor fans which definitely helped to circulate the air and cool the house at night. We were also a little surprised that there were not any beach supplies for use. We purchased bag chairs and a cooler from Walmart and donated to a local friend on the island. That being said, there is no beach access but the view from the cliff is unbeatable! Would I stay again? ABSOLUTELY!!! MAHALO, Susan!!!

This is an awesome place. The house is beautiful, full of details and interesting items. The area is very peaceful.

This beautiful jungle gem was the sweet escape we were looking for. We arrived after dark which was an adventure in itself, so if you have the option to get there before dark, you should try to do so. Plan ahead for meals, stop in Hilo for cheaper groceries and enjoy the well equipped kitchen. The bedding and linens were nice and clean, the kitchen amenities covered all the bases, the shower water was warm with good pressure and the covered deck was magical. Comfortable outdoor seating where rain sounds wonderful without coming in the windows, there are frogs, mongoose, birds and more ready for watching. The neighbors are all very friendly and the walk to the beach is just a few minutes. This is not a place for hopping nightlife, but rather a quiet getaway to spend with your family. No cell signal (WiFi is good though 👍🏻). Bring games, a small Bluetooth speaker and snacks…you’ll be in heaven! Kat will give you all the advice you need for local activities. Love, love, love!

This is a beautiful property - almost a botanical garden -that is well maintained and well designed. The house is equally beautiful with floors made from rare woods. The flowers are impressive and the bird life is excellent. However, the property is a long way from the activities that we wanted to do.

This is the second time we have stayed at Suzy's home. There are reasons we came back: suits our needs, the house is well appointed, and Suzy is a great host. We highly recommend this listing if you are considering staying in this area.

I want to live here. I wish I could snap my fingers, instantly sell all my possessions, and find myself with the keys and deed to this place. And I only rented out the top half! The only problem with this listing is that I found myself unable to leave because it was so cozy and peaceful. I have never relaxed like I did at this retreat before in my life. I felt like my circadian rhythm completely reset, as it felt easy and natural to go to sleep and wake up with the sun. The rainwater showers, indoor and outdoor, were rejuvenating and my hair and skin felt amazing after just a couple days. I didn’t watch a moment of TV and hardly touched my phone or tablet. Instead I napped on the hammock, walked around the neighborhood (often stopping at the black sand beach), and stargazed (amazing viewing conditions each night) on the rooftop deck on the loungers. I am sure no one is no longer reading this review, as it is too long. Just book this place! Mahalo to the amazing hosts as well!

10/10 recommend. This Airbnb was dreamy and perfect for our group of four friends. Surrounded by lush rainforest. I already miss falling asleep to the sound of frogs singing! We loved the screened in kitchen and hang out space outdoors, the screened gazebo outside, and big comfortable beds. Plenty of space for a group to stretch out. There was plenty of beach and snorkel gear to borrow and Denise and Brian had the best recommendation for us to go to the hot ponds at Isaac Hale beach after spending time at Kehena black sand beach. Local and a highlight of the trip. Denise even did a couple loads of laundry for us. You'll have an amazing time, don't hesitate to book if you found this gem :)

Pi’i Mauna house is a wonderful retreat for two couples. It provides everything one needs, has plenty of amenities in the kitchen, and while we were there, had a special delivery of a hair dryer to replace one that had broken. Far and above regular service. We’ve been to PI’i Mauna house many times and we’ve never been disappointed.

Gabrielle is a wonderful host. His place is perfectly located if you like quiet and the sound of the ocean. It's only a couple of blocks walk to it. This is our second stay and we throughly enjoyed both times. I would recommend it to anyone.

Had a lovely stay between Christmas and New Years. The house is very peaceful and located so close to Volcano National Park that we went multiple times per day, for hiking and to view the volcano’s orange glow at night. As the owners noted, it’s about 30 minutes to the closest grocery store, so stock up on your way in. We were glad to have the option to eat at home bc the restaurants were busy with holiday travelers. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

When first stayed at Diana and Jack’s place the first time several years ago, my husband and I hoped we would be able to return. Fortunately we had the opportunity to stay again and are so glad we did! This time we stayed for 8 nights and it was perfect for us to relax and enjoy all that the Big Island has to offer. We both worked and had plenty of space to spread out. It was also great being able to cook dinner several times at the Airbnb. The private patio was very inviting. Diana and Jack were fantastic hosts; very responsive and friendly. We hope to return for a third time!

Very private cozy place to stay if you are visiting Hilo and national park Kitchen has everything you need and 2 separate beds in the bedroom makes it wonderful for a couple or families Little distant away from downtown area but it is very private

This place is a gem! If you have a large party, it's nice to be all together than separated in a hotel. Unfortunately part of our party had to cancel but we decided to keep all our reservations and make the best of it. Also cooking instead of eating out all the time is a plus. It was like a home away from home. It's very close to Volcano National Park, which is very convenient if you want to spend a few days exploring instead of cramming it into one day. If i had known better I would have spent another day or two there. Plus the hot tub is a plus after a logn day of hiking. I'm going to add this to my recommended spots to stay. Mahalo Nui, John!

A Tropical Paradise! Our stay at this Airbnb was nothing short of awesome! The soothing sound of the ocean, combined with the enchanting serenade of coqui frogs at night, created a blissed atmosphere that we absolutely loved. We enjoyed delightful meals on the lanai, grilling fresh mahi mahi and marlin, which made for unforgettable dining experiences. The beds were comfy, and the house was beautifully appointed, even featuring a Scrabble game for fun evenings. Perfect place to indulge in long, relaxing baths in the deep tub and the pristine sauna was a detaching retreat. All the furniture was cozy, making us feel right at home. The location is fantastic, with a general store just 10 minutes away in Orchiland. The yard was impeccably manicured, and we enjoyed cooking and grilling in this wonderful space. Our point of contact for the property was incredibly helpful, responsive, and professional, making our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, this is one of our best Airbnb experiences!
