Vacation rentals in Hafnir

The hosts, Gerður and Óskar, were responsive and proactive in ensuring all was going well during my one week stay by checking in part-way through my stay. I appreciated the privacy given by both the location of the property and the hosts themselves. The location and property, located in Kópavogu, was exactly as described and it was a great jumping off point for exploring the surrounding rural areas and Reykjavik by car. Kópavogur is also more accessible to the airport (KEF) and south-western Iceland. I enjoyed discovering shops, restaurants and bakeries in Kópavogur as it is a more relaxed atmosphere than downtown Reykjavik which is also very accessible from this location. Extremely well stocked with supplies and all sorts of gadgets and home comforts. Christmas decorations and a small gift for each of the children along with a bottle and chocolates were such a thoughtful and nice touch as we were staying over Christmas Day. Just bear in mind it’s a tourist attraction so if you don’t lock the door you may get an unexpected visitor. We really enjoyed our stay. Lots of character and very homely.

What a wonderful stay we had. The cabin was beautiful and cosy. With everything you need in there. Fab location, very private and beautiful surroundings. Katrín was a fabulous host. So helpful, checked on us regularly and gave us information on local weather warnings and making sure we had a safe vehicle for the conditions. They even got our car out with a snow plough after heavy night of snow fall!! Also helpful with information on nearby shops etc. This place is highly recommended!

Really the BEST! Zoei was so helpful and went above and beyond. The location was gorgeous, serene and so beautiful with all the snow. She made sure we had everything we needed. She contacted me early and made sure that we arrived and all was well (because of snow). The house was super cute, with the loveliest natural hot tub so you can watch for the northern lights. She has a cute kitty who stops by too! We had such a fabulous time. I could go on and on, but hands down the very best AirBnB I have ever stayed at and the best host. Note: must have a 4x4 SUV during the winter! Do not try without that.

I loved the room! Very warm and cozy and everything was exactly as described. Lisa was super proactive and helpful. I even got a Christmas present :) Would definitely come again.

It wasn’t easy to find accommodation for 6 people in Reykjavik. Bjarni’s place was fantastic! Close to the City Center, all the restaurants and shopping areas. It was easy to find street parking, but beware that the Parka app is really not helpful. Bjarni was a very responsive host, place is great and as described. We would definitely stay there again. Overall an excellent experience. Iceland is absolutely a must visit country. Thanks for everything.

Alfa and Finnur were very friendly and helpful, the best hosts!!! The house is lovely and cozy. Perfect for our family! The hot tub was the perfect temperature and so relaxing. I sincerely hope this place is available for our next visit!!!

My partner and I loved staying at Brekka Retreat, the views are magnificent across the Fjord, it was incredible to watch the snow storms creep in. The Hot tub was amazing to sit in at night and look up to the stars ⭐️ The hosts were proactive in telling us about bad weather and driving conditions, we really appreciated the advice from a local! We can’t wait to come back in the spring/summer.

Perfect location and affordable, right in the heart of Reykjavik, next to the tall Lutheran church that is viewable from the entire city, making it easy to get back to if you find yourself lost. Very responsive host with simple instructions. Know that the bathroom is very small.

Beautiful space and great view. The host was extremely flexible with check in and check out. While we wished it was a little closer to downtown, you can't beat how amazing the view was and how spacious the apartment felt. We used the living space for some work meetings and it was very accommodating for 6 people to work comfortably. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. Highly recommend all the way around!

The owner responded fast on messages and questions. A problem with the supplied phone to open the gate was solved quick. The cottage was clean and warm enough for cold and windy Icelandic autumn climate. The hottub was great. Arrival during daylight is recommended, since it is surrounded by bushes, away from the road. Not easy to see from the road during Icelandic pitch black night time.
