Places to stay in Gorham

This Lakeside Retreat was a perfect weekend escape for two couples. In late September, we seemed to have the pond to ourselves and enjoyed sharing time around the firepit overlooking the lake. The Bathroom was spacious and one level up from the bedrooms downstairs. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare an excellent meal. I would highly recommend this cabin to a a small group of friends or family looking for a great location near Portland and Lake area attractions.Our host Bobbi was very responsive.

Great place to get away for a weekend or two

Overall this was a great stay!! Was a little tough to find because there were no numbers on the road or the house. Hot tub was incredible and the house was far from neighbors, which felt nice and private. Heat was a little confusing to figure out but once we got it going it was great! Would definitely stay here again!! If staying in winter I recommend having cars that have AWD or four wheel drive because while the roads were plowed they were still covered in snow.

The place is clearly well taken care of with attention to detail. This would be a great place any time of year. Miriam and the home were very accommodating. I would return to this location with great peace of mind.

We are so happy that we found The Lost Compass Cabin for our New Hampshire getaway! We stayed with our adult children and their significant others, and we all loved the cabin. There was plenty of room for 3 adult couples to be together for meals, socializing, and games. Three bedrooms plus bunks in the bonus room meant lots of options for sleeping. I can't say enough about the hosts' attention to detail. They have the most charming mountain touches relating to bears, fish, hiking, deer, campfires, and more - we spent the whole time pointing them out to each other! Lots of fun, creative artwork all over the place, and adorable details like a throw pillow that looks like a log and tiny bears on the shower curtain hooks really add to the whimsy of the place. Very well stocked for anything you might need, too!

The house is lovely and, if it’s not new, it sure feels that way. In a very quiet area with tons of outdoor space yet just a mile or two from more main roads. Had a lovely white Christmas/Hanukkah with fresh snow on the 24th. Diana was a great host, always answering questions promptly and rolling with some last minute travel issues. Would love to stay here in warmer months to take advantage of the outdoors and the lovely sun porch.

We absolutely loved our stay! Plenty of room for 8 guests (and more!!) in a beautiful setting. There was many helpful amenities, like kitchen items, and plenty of towels. The location is perfectly centered to many popular things to do. James was always very responsive to questions left clear instructions. We highly recommend staying here and hope to do so again in the future.

Magnificent view is waiting for you. We arrived very snowy day after scary driving but we felt it was worthwhile to come over by 3 hours drive. House is well organized with good taste furniture, clean and cozy and very comfortable. Our 12 years and 10 years old boys enjoyed a lot, so do we as a parents. Thanks Jason for welcoming us to the wonderful place.
