We loved the ocean-front location, hearing the waves, and being able to walk right down to the water! If it were warmer, we definitely would've jumped on for a swim in the very clear ocean, so we'll look forward to staying with Eva - who is a wonderful, friendly, understanding, and responsive host! - again when we can do so.

Communicate well beforehand and advise on accommodation needs as well as clean and convenient.

The living environment is small, but the surrounding life function is not very good. You need to go out and buy something if you want to eat ~ I think coming to play in the summer is the best!

This accom is superbly placed for enjoying the free part of Fulong Beach (the southern end, watched over by Dongxing temple) as it's just one street back from the sand. It's very close to a number of eating places; it's particularly near to a somewhat alternative set of restaurants on Fulong St that do good coffee and veg food; and also close to "Scubar", at the temple end of the beach, run by a friendly fellow from Missouri and his equally friendly pal from Vancouver Island who makes a damn find Nanaimo Bar. The house is also just 5 to 10 mins walk from the longer beach that charges NTD50 entry, which is worth going to if you have time to stroll nearly 2km up to the rocks at the far north end of the beach. When i stayed it was more than a week after the end of the famous International Sand Sculpture Festival that's held annually on that paying section of the beach, but the commercially sponsored creations were still there (each was an homage to a Pixar movie). Jinping was a great host. In addition to ensuring everything is immaculately clean, she would respond to any request very promptly (and brought my shoes in when I left them out in the rain, and put paper inside them and turned on the fan so they'd dry - a truly thoughtful person!). Even though the house is not far from the station (certainly less than 10 mins walk), she was there to collect me when I got off my train to ensure I didn't get lost and to point out the various local shops. There are several bicycle rental places, of good quality. I only had time for one ride, the one through the old 2km-long Caoling tunnel that emerges to views of Turtle Island (Taiwan's only active volcano) and then goes around Taiwan's most eastern point, including the lighthouse near the site of fort San Diego, built when the Spaniards ruled northern Formosa around the 1630s. Really enjoyed that outing, can be done comfortably in 2.5 hours, but you could also take in easy and enjoy the cafes with a view and the little fishing villages along the way, some of them quite historic. BTW there are a couple of swimming pools cut into the rock platforms along this route, so bring your swimwear - and if Fulong's beaches have been closed because of rough weather, you could cycle to the first pool in less than an hour. I'll definitely head back to Jingping's rooms when I need another Fulong stay. I believe it's worth staying overnight to enjoy sunset and early morning on the beach, rather than just doing the train from Taipei and home again on the same day. It kinda felt like being back in Sydney - I didn't even mind I only had one day of sunshine, because it's a beautiful bit of coast when the weather is stormy :-)

Simple, open room, clean, spacious, uncluttered, walk out balcony with gorgeous view of the ocean - the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Better if you have your own car, but other than on holidays it should be easy to get a taxi from the train station. 2 good seafood restaurants within a 2-3 minute walk, one of them has some great windows tables with ocean view!

Ken is the best! We were even able to use the scooter for a good price. But the house is right next to a big street, which is loud, we didn't mind it too much, but feel like people should know.
