Places to stay in Genoa City

This is my third visit to Bettye’s place and I have loved it every time. It’s clean and neat and nestled in the heart of McHenry. I just love it so much and was so grateful she had an opening this week! I love McHenry and feel like I’m at home when I stay here. It’s so cute and cozy and she has thought of literally everything. I wish I could have stayed longer.

The Woodland house is truly incredible, with every detail thoughtfully designed for comfort, from the cozy bedrooms and soft linens to the inviting beds. The kitchen nook with a couch overlooking the ravine offers stunning views of nature, making it a picturesque spot to relax. The home exudes warmth and is perfect for unwinding in the spacious sunken living room or one of the multiple outdoor seating areas. Debra was an excellent host, providing all the amenities you could need. This home is a 10+, and you won't want to leave!

We loved this place. It was an easy walk down to the water and into town for restaurants. The special touches of a bottle of wine waiting for us, the full basket of continental breakfast options, the gas fireplace, and the jacuzzi made this cozy little cabin feel like a resort. They raised the bar for what you AirBnbs should can. Perfect for a couple getaway.

This place was the perfect retreat for a few days away from home. Even in the off season we stayed entertained with the games and hot tub, making every moment enjoyable. Nestled in a charming yet private neighborhood, the home is spotless, thoughtfully maintained, and filled with warmth. It’s convenient location made exploring easy while still offering a peaceful escape. A truly wonderful stay.

We enjoyed our stay here as a family with 4 kiddos under the ages of 5. We arrived early and Collin worked fast to get us check in sooner than originally planned. He was very fast and friendly to respond. The house was tidy, clean and the kitchen was fully equipped- my wife is very particular about cleanliness and she felt very comfortable staying here. This was such a convenient spot as restaurants and shopping were within small driving distance. We didn’t get a chance to use the jacuzzi but that space along with the front patio was such a cozy setup. This was by far one of our favorite stays and we highly recommend Collin and his home. Thank you for hosting to us!

We stayed at Prairie Place for my son’s Navy graduation. The house is adorable and location is about a 15 minute straight drive to the base. Steve is a wonderful host. He answered our questions quickly and checked on us the following day. We had an issue with the door lock (completely on us) and Steve came right away to show us how to use it properly lol We enjoyed the house and walking the neighborhood. We’d definitely stay here again.

We rented the home for a Navy bootcamp graduation. The home was beautiful and very cozy. Owner was responsive and all instructions were clear and easy to follow. Will definitely book again if we are ever back in town.

Brent’s place was perfect for our stay while we visited our family in the area. The location was very convenient to walk around downtown to nearby coffee shops and restaurants. Although it could be noisy at times middle of the night, we did not mind the white noise while sleeping. We especially enjoyed the comfortable beds! We will definitely plan to rebook with Brent for our next trip to Crystal Lake!
