Vacation rentals with a kayak in Gatineau

This was the perfect addition to my wedding weekend! Julie made it extra special with a welcome sign and bottle of champagne to great my guests and I! The place is absolutely stunning, so warm, cozy and just what we needed for a wedding stay with the bridal party. It surpassed my expectations and Julie and her partner were wonderful - we even had a tour and learned some history on the place. Can’t wait to come back !

Our family group, 4 adults and 1 seven-year-old child, stayed for six nights in July at Serene Lakefront Haven in Val-des-Monts, Quebec. We were looking for a well-equipped home by a beautiful, quiet swimmable lake not too far from our own home in Ottawa. Nadine's place was perfect for us. The lake was surrounded by tall trees and not very deep, which was excellent for our young swimmer. Motor boats were not allowed on it, so peace reigned day and night, and a number of boats were available for us to use. Everybody, young and old (from 7 to 74) enjoyed the lake. Outside there was also a trampoline! The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare our meals. In addition, there were games and toys for all ages, and the television came with Netflix, Disney Plus, and a variety of DVDs. The house was clean when we arrived and the house manual provided accurate, useful information. Nadine answered all questions promptly and thoroughly. Five stars --- well-deserved!

We are a group of three couples and this was our second visit to Chelsea over the MLK weekend. Last time, we stayed in a hotel. This time we saved a huge amount of money staying right next to the hotel! With three bedrooms and two full baths, the house was perfectly suited for our group. The mudroom/entryway was very helpful to have in the snowy, cold weather. Alain was extremely hospitable. He reached out to warn us about making sure the rental car could handle snow. He even had set up a fire in the fireplace - all we needed to do was light it. Very walkable to incredible restaurants and the spa. Highly recommend visiting Chelsea and staying at Alain's place.

For the first time ever, I can honestly say the pictures don’t do this place justice. It is way bigger than the listing depicts and even more beautiful. I was also grateful that the hot tub actually got hot and is very private. Overall, would absolutely come back, especially being less than an hour away from Ottawa.

We had a great time at Andrew’s cottage. The place is lovely and super clean. Andrew’s instructions to reach the cottage were very useful and clear. We spent all the daylight hours in the backyard by the river - what an amazing space - so many different options for just sitting around!! My whole family loved kayaking in the river (current is not strong) - kayaks, paddles and life jackets (even kids size) were provided. Our 5 year old loved the trampoline. Sunsets were spectacular. The cottage itself is super comfortable, very clean, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. The living area has a large picture window - perfect to sit by, sip a hot drink and watch the geese on the river when it is still cold to be outside. Overall great stay and would love to come back for a longer duration.

We had an amazing time at Pete’s. The location was perfect, we had our own private beach. The kids enjoyed the provided kayaks and water toys. Our dogs lived in the water for 7 days. The house is much bigger than it appears in photos, and has ample room for a large family or group.

Jane’s cabin was perfect for our family getaway! We enjoyed the view of the water and taking long dog walks in the bush. Sitting in front of the log fire with my coffee was my favourite thing. Jane was very responsive and helpful letting us check in early. We highly recommend Jane’s cabin. We had a fabulous stay.

We spent a week at this cottage in January. The good: -very comfortable beds -very clean -well stocked kitchen where we could do all of our cooking -espresso machine -many different areas to hang out: the living room, the dining room table, the downstairs 'tv area,' the porch -poker table and dart board were fun (downstairs) -beautiful view -porch area was my favourite - unheated but the wood stove warmed it up and made for an amazing place to hang out at night. Could be better: -we didn't need the bunkie, but had we needed it, we would have been unhappy. It smelled AWFUL! I thought an animal had died in the woods when I walked past it. Walking in, we all almost fell over with the stench. Apparently it was recently moved/perhaps plumbing isn't connected (?). Unusable as is currently. -the duvet was too hot! Needed to open the window not to cook as I slept -porch should have a CO detector (wood stove) -record player didn't work Summary: very expensive, but we were very happy!

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved Laura’s cabin and plan to return in the summer. It is a picturesque location that gives full on Canadian-cottage vibes. The space was clean, cozy, and welcoming. 10/10 reccomend!! Laura is also extremely kind and responsive which we really appreciated! Definitely make sure you have 4 wheel drive if you come in the winter though ❤️😉

Is it even a surprise that I'm giving this place anything less than 5 stars? Perhaps the best Airbnb my husband and I have stayed at, hands down. Dayna and David have done an *incredible* job designing this cozy place that transports you into another world. It is so perfectly curated, down to the smallest detail. And best of all, it's not all just looks. The cottage is FULL of things to do - a huge collection of board games, toys and games for kids, canoe, kayak, Netflix, fire pit, sauna, you name it. It was immaculately clean (how do they do it?! even with all that decor?!). We experienced a half day blackout on one of our days but Dayna and David were super responsive and helpful - we didn't feel forgotten about even for one minute (it was also Thanksgiving weekend!). They're probably that most responsive hosts I've ever encountered on Airbnb. I promise you won't be disappointed - hurry up and book!!!

Had an amazing stay! The view is absolutely breathtaking, and the place was super peaceful and cozy. Perfect spot to just chill and unwind. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with some incredible scenery. Erica is a great host!

We had a wonderful time soaking in the hot tub and taking the spectacular scenery. The place was spotless, had everything we needed, and the views from the living room, deck, and fire pit were so beautiful we didn’t want to leave. My group of ladies have stayed in a number of wonderful places and this was our favourite so far.

The perfect cozy home away from home, we had a lovely time!! Awesome place for kids, truly a charming cottage, we will most definitely be back next year!

Our long weekend at this charming cottage was nothing short of magical. Tucked away in a serene and tranquil location, the peaceful ambiance was a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage itself exuded warmth and character, adorned with delightful local decorations that truly captured the essence of the area. It felt like a home away from home, with every corner telling a unique story. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the picturesque view of the lake right in front of the cottage. Waking up to the gentle sounds of nature and the sight of the tranquil waters was a truly enchanting experience. But what truly set this experience apart was the host. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. Their responsiveness, kindness, and genuine hospitality made us feel incredibly welcome and valued.

Stayed 3 nights here whilst touring US/CAN for fall. 40mins from Ottawa and a couple of hours from Montreal, it was a perfect location for us. The cabin and lake was so peaceful and pretty during our stay and great for the dog. Would happily stay here again or recommend for anyone doing the same! Merci Michel et Helene!!

We stayed at La Belle Denis cabin and it was literally as presented in the picture. The cabin is warm in winter with hot water ! Perfect for a weekend gateway. We love the quietness in winter and the trail on the property. We hope to comeback in Summer to check out the lake! Shu

We had such a lovely stay at the cabin. It was so warm and cozy especially with the wood burning stove and picturesque views. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to be snowed in for a day. Robin was so kind and gracious enough to allow for an extended check out so we could wait for the roads to clear before heading home. I would definitely come back and would love to enjoy it in the summer for our next stay.

I stayed here with my fiancé for a full week and we loved every bit of it. The place was very clean and has everything we were looking for. The location was great, we had a river in the back with beautiful views. This honestly has been our favourite cottage we’ve been to so far and we will definitely come back in the summer. Thank you for an amazing stay!

A great place for us to resort to and recharge as we visited family in the surrounding area.

Michel and Hélène were very nice and welcoming, and they were quick to answer our questions. We rented their cottage for our wedding and the place was even better than expected, especially because there was an arch where we celebrated the ceremony and we hadn't seen it in the photos, so it was a pleasant surprise! Hosts even met us before our stay to show us around the site. They also lent us several furniture and decorations, which was greatly appreciated. In short, we enjoyed our stay immensely and we highly recommend choosing Michel and Hélène as hosts!

You know how some places say "10 people can stay here"? Well here they aren't kidding. You and your friends can stay here with absolutely zero compromise in terms of comfort. What a cool spot. Very clean and comfortable. I actually looked up the brand of mattress my wife and I slept on it was so comfy.
