Vacation rentals with outdoor seating in Fern Forest

This place is incredible for staying on the Island. Panoramic view of the ocean. Lots of space and furniture outside to enjoy the entire day on location. The grounds are amazing with something new to see or explore each day. From hammocks surrounding the deck to fire pit sitting area to relax in day and night. The host's manual has complete instructions to make the stay as comfortable as if you were living there. We went to 5 different locations as suggested in the book, so glad we did. There are plenty of bikes and outdoor gear available to use too. Private, but friendly neighborhood allows for walking, biking, and exploring at any time during the day. The stars are beautiful at night and wonderful sunrises in the morning.

It was our 2nd time at Jacklynn’s place and I would absolutely come back again! The first time we stayed at the purple house. All of the houses are super cute and far enough away from each other that you have privacy. Each house is positioned to have a beautiful view of the property. The kitchens are well stocked with everything you need including a blender and a French press! The property itself is peaceful and gorgeous. I absolutely love the hot tubs and pool! I also enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of the coqui frogs every night. Pahoa is super close and has great restaurants and grocery/market options. I am vegan and Pahoa is the best destination on the big island for vegan food IMO! Watch out for Little Fire Ants (LFA)! They are smaller than you think and easy to miss if you aren’t looking for them. I know Jacklyn treats for them, but they are pervasive in the area so stay alert so you don’t want to have an unpleasant few hours!

What a sanctuary! We really enjoyed our stay, The place is very spacious in all rooms, but the food prep area is quite small. While it is not a full kitchen, they had everything we needed to make our delicious meals. Having the grill was a huge help. The bed was extremely comfortable. We would definitely recommend it.

Lucky to grab this location for a few days. Accommodations were great for three parties of folks. Especially great one couple could bring their dog. Unfortunately, we missed the volcano eruptions, which started the day we checked out for home. They seemed to have everything you might need and super cozy, including the reclining couch sections were comfortable enough to sleep in!!

Enjoyed our stay. Close to Hilo downtown area and local swimming beaches.

We absolutely loved our stay at John’s place! He made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we got there- with a drink from a couple of fresh chilled coconuts he had waiting for us- but also gave us lots of space and privacy during our stay. His gifts of fresh fruit from his property were so kind- and yummy! 10/10 tangelos. John is also EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the area and had great tips on places to visit. The place was super well stocked (eg. cooler so we could pack our lunch for Volcanoes NP day; everything you need for cooking and more) and the back porch was paradise!! John was great to communicate with via the app, or just a chat across the yard! I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone in the area! Good value for lots of comfy space in a good location for visiting the sights!

The home looked just like the photos and was a great stay for 6 people! The check in and checkout were easy and the host was great and recommended some local places. Very close to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Great experience!

This was a beautiful home. It was very spacious and had everything we needed. Laundry was a nice touch!

Sam was a super friendly host with a beautiful property. We enjoyed feeling like we were away from the noise of the city and waking up to chickens and sounds of distant waves each morning.

We really enjoyed staying here. The place is very spacious and well appointed. It worked well as a jumping off point for Puna sight seeing as well as just chilling on the lanai. The beach across the street (one of the only swim friendly beaches in the area) was convenient and the breeze and views from the second floor unit lanai were great. Scott was friendly, provided good recommendations and responded to communication quickly. He’s also quite easygoing and nothing is complicated. The place was close (in between) to the 2018 lava flow sites. Having seen the volcano erupting a few days earlier, it was quite something to see up close the magnitude and power of Pele and how the landscape is actively changing due to volcanic activity. Recommend as a very comfortable and convenient place to stay.

This place was a gem! It looks better than the pictures. Very spacious, very comfortable and homely and extremely clean! It had everything one could need while visiting Hilo. It was clear that there was a lot of thought put into this place with regard to guests comfort and needs. Rhonda and Jeff were very kind hosts. I will highly recommend their place and love to stay here when we visit again. Easily the best airbnb we’ve stayed in! 10/10

This place was just what we needed for our stay. It was easy to get to the Volcano National Park, other sites and restaurants. I would definitely recommend.

Unique place to stay when visiting the East side of Big Island. Convenient to Uncle Robert's and Puna fun. Our go to home away from home.

Such an amazing place to stay! Felt extremely comfortable and welcome the entire time! Very quaint and incredible! I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to stay on the east side of Hawaii! Many mahalos!

Beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and exactly as the photographs show, the PUA condo is exceptional. A king-size bed, ample storage space, thoroughly modern shower - all contribute to helping a guest bathe in the ALOHA spirit. Levi and Lisa are very precise with their directions; the initial download may seem too detailed until one realizes that the specifics are clear, concise and easy-to-follow. Their property is drop-dead beautiful and home to (seemingly) hundreds of birds. They will announce their presence at night, but the hosts have thoughtfully provided ear plugs by the bed. (That’s what I call a Superhost.) Check with them to see if they have upgraded beyond their KEURIG coffee maker. In a land of rich Hawai’i beans, Lisa’s Dad loaned us a French press for us to truly savor the local bounty.

Great place, literally paces from a BEAUTIFUL lagoon and beach filled with turtles and fish. Nice quiet road dotted with 4 or 5 beaches/parks, and about a 3 mile drive to the shops/grocery stores to keep the kitchen stocked. Also had a French press so we could enjoy our fresh Kona coffee every day.

I was there with my boyfriend for the week. The location was great! Within walking distance g distance to great restaurants and the best farmers market I’ve ever been to. The views are absolutely stunning. Watching the sunrise in the morning was so beautiful. We felt right at home. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you so much Carla and Joe! It was a little slice of heaven there.

Concierge service amidst a natural lagoon setting with all the amenities one can just enjoy a worthwhile experience from the two lanais!

Our guest apartment was beautifully furnished, clean and so comfortable! The view of Hilo Bay was spectacular. Very impressed how clean the space was. Great location within Hilo. You do have to climb one flight of stairs to get to the condo.

I have stayed in a lot of Airbnb accommodations. This condo is the best. It it's perfect for one or two people it they aren't sharing beds. I love sitting on the balcony and watching the waves. I have been here multiple times and I am very comfortable here. Restaurants, market, and beaches are close and easy to access. I love staying here. Thank you!
