Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Washington

Staying at Colin's place was great. I stayed with some colleagues for a conference at the main convention center. The location is great (~5 min walk to the metro, felt safe and was on a quiet street). Colin was extremely responsive and easy to work with (he promptly fixed a few small problems that were not his fault). The place was great, clean, and lovely. One note is that if you sleep in the room in lower level apartment, you can hear people going up and down the stairs of the main house and also water pipes running in the main house. I slept in that room and it wasn't a big deal, but if you're very sensitive to noise, it would be better to sleep in the main house. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and I would stay there again in a heart beat.

Janesh’s place knocked it out of the park. Everything was perfect and it was located quite close to our son’s home for a perfect visit. We would stay there again.

A group of us stayed here on NYE to be close to Exhostage. It was reasonably priced, clean and super close to the venue! exactly what we needed.

Jennifer’s place is very cozy, clean, and private. It is located in a nice, quiet area of DC. The provided parking space was an excellent bonus. The proximity to most points of interest was perfect, about 20 mins drive to many historic buildings. Jennifer was very prompt and responsive to my inquires. It was a very lovely stay. Thank you!

Had a group of graduate students stay during the AGU conference. We didn't get taken advantage of like all of the hotels in the area where prices where 2-3 times higher than normal. Our host was very helpful in the days leading up to check in and reponsive while there. Highly recommend for those looking for a nice place when visiting DC.

Fantastic location!! Every day we walked to have breakfast in an amazing nearby restaurant and from there walked some more to get to Capitol Hill, Desiree was a great host very responsive, the place was very clean, exactly what we were looking for

This is the second time we've stayed here. It's a great place, exactly as described. It has two good sized bedrooms and full baths. It has a full kitchen with modern, full-sized appliances. We didn't do any cooking, but the kitchen seemed to be well equipped with kitchen necessities. There was a Nespresso coffee maker with an ample supply of coffee pods, as well as the automatic drip mentioned in the listing. There were filters and coffee for the drip machine. I think I saw a French press or two in a cabinet but didn't pull them out. There packets of jam, honey, soy sauce, and more in the fridge. It's in an urban, diverse neighborhood, which is perfect for us. It's a short walk to a great organic supermarket (Yes! Organic), a little longer to Safeway. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The Metro is close, too; even closer is a bus that goes downtown. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again if it's available on our next visit.

You really can’t beat the location of Anne’s place- it’s walkable to everything and in a beautiful neighbourhood where we felt safe with our children. Anne was incredible helpful at all times, even as we were departing in the middle of a snow storm. The place is very clean and comfortable, it’s easy to feel at home. Thank you Anne!

David & Kathy were such great hosts! We stayed here at the end of a 10 day work trip. There’s a Trader Joe’s within walking distance and great restaurants as well. They have the most comfortable bed and pillows! They were also extremely helpful in mailing items that were left in the home which we were truly grateful for! We’d for sure stay here again when in the area!

This is a fabulous, affordable hideaway to return to after a day of sightseeing on the Mall. Everything was perfect. The Safeway is nearby for groceries as is the Metro. There are lots of wonderful books and games that I could have spent hours with but my trip was focused on the Smithsonian museums. I hadn't been to DC in a while and this neighborhood has vastly improved over the last 30 years. It was nice having our hosts in their own home upstairs. Lisa and John are wonderful!

Courtney’s place was the perfect spot for my visit to DC with my son. We are relocating to SC and wanted a stay in a neighborhood to give us a feel for living in the city. The neighborhood was beautiful, safe & conveniently located. We enjoyed walking to the shops nearby. The unit was spotless and very cozy. It had everything that we needed. It was private and Courtney’s family made us feel at home. I was especially grateful for the parking spot because parking is limited in that area.

Had an amazing stay at Melissa's. Everything was as described in the listing! She even gave me a parking pass for street parking. Looking forward to a future stay!

Great place to stay in DC especially if you have a car with you. My wife and I had a very nice time and Allan’s place was exactly as advertised. Parking is brutal in DC and having a private garage connected to the house was perfect! Proximity to everything in DC was great! Super easy to get anywhere. We were there in the winter so walking around was not something we did because it was 20 degrees. Overall it was very comfortable for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had questions prior to arrival and while we were there and Allan was very responsive and accommodating. Thanks Allan!!!

We had a very nice stay at Rayna’s place. It felt warm and welcoming and had all the amenities you could ask for. We highly recommend staying there and would go back again.

Ben’s place was perfect for our quick trip. We really appreciated how spacious and well appointed it was and being able to use his parking pass was a godsend. Would gladly stay again!

Amazing stay! Our host was responsive and even shipped an item left in the unit. The area was charming and walkable with lots to see and do. Would certainly recommend this place for another trip!

This is a great cozy spot for up to 3 guests. Kitchen has all the dishes, pots & pans, etc needed to cook & serve meals. The unit is quiet, private and secure. It’s in a nice walkable neighborhood. Rideshares are plentiful, with no more than a 5 min wait at any time. I highly recommend staying here and will do so myself at a later date!

Cozy pad in a great and safe location. Lots of restaurants and stores that are within walking distance. Not too far from the train which was a huge benefit.

Great place! As an added bonus, Cheri and Cliff got us a temporary neighborhood parking permit so we could park our vehicle during our stay. This was a great benefit.
