Vacation rentals with a kayak in DeKalb County

I booked this as a surprise for my family on spring break. My wife typically takes care of reservations and the hosts were extremely understanding and helpful throughout this process. My family was impressed with the amount of activities provided on-location and my wife was excited to see everything labeled and organized. The accommodations were spotless and every possible need provided for. We played board games and roasted marshmallows at night. Wood , fuel, and roasting sticks were complimentary and ready to go. The pool and hot tub were heated and within close walking distance of our cabin. We had the best time on kayaks, a paddle boat, and playing giant chess. We easily could have spent our entire vacation here, but chose to venture out to Little River Canyon, where our hosts gave wonderful tips on where to swim and eat. Thank you for providing an amazing, peaceful stay. We will definitely be back again!

We had an AM❤️ZING stay at the Home of Cedar Bluff, LOWER Level of "Your Big Lake House." The pictures of the property do not do the home any justice. The design of the property ensures that all ages will have something to do. Viewing the lake by day and night while sitting on the spacious porch was absolutely refreshing. Destinie was an incredible host. Each day, she checked in with me through text to see if we needed anything. She even offered us a complimentary late checkout. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great area to get away with family or friends. Thank you, Dave and Destinie, for allowing us to enjoy the weekend in your beautiful home.

Great place to stay and very clean. It is kinda out in the middle of nowhere we felt like as far as a town to make a run to get something but we had mostly everything before getting there. We stayed for the event going on at Indian Mountain Atv Park which is about 35 min out so parking was a little tight for 3 trucks and trailers but owners were plenty helpful in letting us use the backyard as well. Overall no complaints.

Our group of 4 had a great time enjoying the outdoor spaces and amenities. We fished, canoed, used the fire pit, and relaxed in the hot tub. The kitchen is large and has pretty much everything you would need to cook, although we did have to wash everything before we used it. The location is very secluded and quiet, but it’s a quick drive into town. We would stay again.

We had a great time at the lake house. We could easily spread out. The two dining areas were great for the kids. We enjoyed the hammocks and the kayaks. The host was very friendly and responsive.

Angela and James were super hospitable! The rental is a carport away from their home but we felt like we had our own space indoors and enjoyed fishing and kayaking on the river. The fire pit was a hit with the kids at night - we made s’mores and shot fireworks. The interior was plenty of space for our family of five and we were able to easily feed the ping-pong table in the living room for a night and the boys wanted to play. Kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed to fix some quick meals. Bring your own cutting board and a sharp knife. :) Would return again!

The cabin was perfect for our family Christmas getaway!! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare great meals. The location is secluded but still close enough to get to stores if you forget something and there is a lot of amazing hiking within a short drive of the cabin. Misti was an amazing host and super proactive in communications and everything was very clear. I would highly recommend! And they decorated for Christmas (even with a tree) so we felt right at home!

My husband and I came here for our 7 year anniversary. It was lovely and peaceful. I love the imperfections of the old cottage and its cleanliness. The hot tub, kayaks, and views are lovely The kitchen was adequately stocked and beds were clean and comfy. Shower was large and hot and the washer and dryer were very helpful! The house was stocked with everything needed. We will definitely be back. The town of Mentone was just down the road and we loved the areas. There was even a gas station at the end of the street that was very convenient as well! No regrets! Just a lovely vibe and great getaway destination!

Really enjoyed our stay at Lazy River Cottage! Home was clean and orderly and exactly as described with plenty of room for our party of 5. We don't eat out much and prefer to cook our meals at the home so the full kitchen was much appreciated. Making use of the kayaks was a ton of fun. DeSoto Falls hiking trails and picnic area were easily accessible by a very short walk. This was a great home base to explore Mentone and Little River Canyon. 100% would book it again. Lots of space for our family get together. Prime location to get to area attractions (Mentone, hiking, swimming spots). Well equipped kitchens in both cabins. Comfortable beds and plenty of towels. We particularly enjoyed the screened porches. There were kids games and puzzles for inside fun as well as paddle boards and floats for water fun.

Kasey was amazing! We had an unexpected last minute change of plans and Kasey was immediately available and very helpful. The place was just as described, very clean, ample parking, and had lots of extras! The temperature was in the 50s so we didn’t anticipate the use of the on-site canoe, but to our surprise, our children were in it for hours! They even had a large selection of life vests that accommodated all of our children ranging in age from 8 to 18. No complaints at all from our stay.

we had so much fun! the little cabin was just beautiful & my son took me for a paddle boat ride 3x around the pond! it was a little windy so we didn't get to make a fire but what a cool set up there, for one! the house was clean! there were toiletries & smores kits waiting for us when we checked in. had no issues finding the location & was close to our adventures we had planned! we really enjoyed our stay & will be back!

We enjoyed our stay here, the cabin and screened in porch with fireplaces are very cozy and it was nice being next to the river. It was too cold for kayaking but it would be fun to come back in warmer weather. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking. The Wifi was a little slow, it's good enough for internet browsing and low quality video streaming. I hope we can come back some time during the summer, I'd love to see it with leaves on the trees!
