Quaint 4 Bed Barn Conversion Barnhouse Starshinezz

FionaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
The photos don’t do this place justice. It really is beautiful. Quaint, spacious, clean and tidy. Plenty of facilities such as vac, mop, washing machine, dryer, cleaning products etc. Kitchen is a lovely space to all sit together. Bedrooms were very spacious and room for clothes etc. Lovely nights sleep in comfortable beds. Central heating worked a treat with log fire in the room (we didn’t need to use) including other heaters. It is lovely and warm and cosy. The views and surrounding areas are lovely. We used the hot tub which was a lovely addition and worked well been outside the conservatory part. We were a family group of mixed ages and we would absolutely stay here again. Host was great with contact prior to arrival with flexible check in/out. Overall a brilliant stay and we’ve also said we would return.

North Pennines, walking, dogs woof!

RebeccaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
A lovely stay! We were 7 in our 30s and one under 1. The place was perfect for our weekend away. A play park was literally opposite the house, and a lovely walk up by waterfalls “the slit walk” just along the road. Plenty of waterfalls, picnic stops and frogs! So plenty of walking and relaxing for us. Coop close also. House was lovely, had a gorgeous open living room and fire. Plenty of trinkets around the house to keep us amused. And lovely piano. Rooms were clean and well kept. Kitchen very well stocked, and dishwasher!

We had a wonderful family stay at this beautiful, cosy cottage on our way to Scotland. The cottage is warm and welcoming, with comfortable furniture that made us feel right at home. The surrounding gardens are absolutely stunning—such a peaceful place to relax, especially with the lovely spring weather. The area is full of charm and natural beauty, making it the perfect escape. We truly enjoyed our time here and would love to come back!

7 Front Street

A beautiful cottage set in a peaceful village. The cottage is full of quirky furniture and features and is so characterful. Lovely views from front and back of the dale and it was really nice having the horse out the back, he even came to visit us one evening! We were staying in the cottage to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday and the wonderful accommodation and setting really contributed to what was a lovely break. I'd recommend a walk along the Wear to Westgate where a visit to Slitt Woods is a must for nature and history lovers! Be sure to download the information leaflet from the North Pennines website with lots of interesting information on it. I'd also recommend a walk round Tunstall Reservoir. We walked down to the pub in St John's Chapel one evening too for a meal. Food was the usual pub grub but very tasty and the staff were very friendly. Only slight issue, parking was a bit tight outside the cottage but there's plenty of space on the quiet side roads to park.

West Cottage

West Cottage perfect for a family of 4 with 2 boys, looking to get out into the countryside and explore the area. Beautiful location, photos don’t do it justice, surrounded by green hills, sheep and with a brook below the garden. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves which meant we could use the wave machine, hot tub and games room whenever we wanted after days out. Also enjoyed having our meals out on the lawn. Cottage had all we needed, comfy beds and kitchen well-equipped.

Low Barn Cottage

RebbeccaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We loved the remoteness of the cottage, the peace & quiet. Loved the pool & hot tub which is a must if we don't stay coastal. You definitely need a car to access any shops as the nearest shop is 2.3 miles and this closes at 5. No pubs within walking distance and some pubs only opened certain days and opened at 6. However that's what makes the place attractive & peaceful. Lots of places to visit with 10 mile radius. Great walks and historical sites to see. Beautiful landscape. Cottage was very snug & comfortable.
