Vacation rentals in Chacim

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Jesse’s farmhouse in the Douro Valley! The space was serene and perfect for our family of 5 adults. Jesse gave terrific recommendations including coordinating a delicious dinner with their neighbor and a full day, private Douro Valley off-road wine tour (which was the absolute highlight of our trip). Jesse is also extremely responsive and easy to work with. I highly recommend this spot for anyone coming to visit the Douro Valley!

Beautiful place and it’s just a pity we came during a cold and wet spell! But the house made us feel right at home. Amazing breakfast with huge quantities, and proper milk (which is hard to find!)

Magical location in the Douro Valley. Maria was wonderful, we had everything we needed for a 3 night stay in winter. Can’t wait to come back in warmer months to see the full beauty of the Douro.

Enjoyed a peaceful stay in Esphinhosa. The house is very inviting with plenty of room. Views are amazing with the vineyards across the lane. Virtually no traffic since it is the 2nd last place on the road. A leisurely 5-minute stroll to the little hamlet of Esphinhosa. There's a very small coffee bar & grocery store in town. It has the very basics to get you through. If you plan to make your own meals in the well-equipped kitchen, remember to purchase your groceries on the way. For large luggage, you will want to access the 2nd floor from the back door up the hill rather than using the spiral stairs. Also, Google Maps took us straight through Espinhosa. To squeeze through the houses where R.Direita meets R.dos Valados, we had to fold up the mirrors on our Dacia Duster with likely only 1/2" to spare on either side. Make sure to use Rua Cimo do Povo and follow the signs for Valado Houses. Good local food at Restaurante Pesqueirense in São João da Pesqueir.

Phillipa and Paul were absolutely lovely to work with and their property is unbelievable! We felt like we owned a Quinta for a few nights! we got to explore the property, visit with Paul and one of their sons, and savor the beauty of the Douro. They were proactive with communication and sourced a number of wonderful adventures, activities and meals. Without their guidance our trip would have been less fun!

This was the most magical place for our family of five. I now want to come back and try all of Miguel’s other properties. A true highlight was taking advantage of the connections to local vendors that come with the hosts recommendations. Private dinner at the Pinta Lounge was amazing . I said to my husband at one point , “ I am so happy I could cry” - that sums up this cottage.

This home is in a peaceful setting — plenty of land to explore and situated not far from the town of Vila Real. The accommodation is comfortable and there are ample resources for cooking and to stay warm. It was a pleasant stay, and the host was hospitable. Thank you.

Simple and beautiful environment, there was the essential and well used space, air-conditioning and warm water always available improved our stay in this cold weather. We'll be back for sure.
