Vacation rentals with a kayak in Central Eleuthera

The pictures don't do justice to this home (light and beautiful) and its surroundings (paradise). There should be one of the view from the deck directly down to the ocean! :) Architecture is stunning. Full on views of the beach and tropical vegetation from every side. Two different work spaces with desks and views out the back. Kitchen is a little small if you're having a big group, but for two it was terrific. Everything worked. Fans in all the rooms! Great shower with fabulous water pressure. Loved the simplicity of the decor and having the beach to ourselves. BE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS (and maybe print them at home). VERY useful information. Contact Latoya for practical questions. She was able to get us a rental car when other companies said they had no vehicles left. Do get a 4WD. The high chassis is important for rutted roads if you go anywhere off the beaten track. We didn't plan to, but it happens! :)

From front-porch sitting and strolling around the village of Tarpum Bay for the 90-year-old grandparents to exploring and scuba diving for the parents and grandchildren, this place was perfect.The location, right on the shore but in a shaded place, was idyllic. You can swim right off the shore if you wear reef shoes to get over the coral. For the maintenance issues, Samuel Dorcent, the caretaker and go-to man, was very quick and responsive. On the morning our rental car would not start, he had his friend, the auto mechanic, there in ten minutes with a big battery charger to get us going. Samuel was also just an interesting person to get to know. He was always reachable on his cell phone. The only negative review we could find complained of bugs and the lack of air-conditioning. We found that the fans were more than adequate to keep us comfortable. Picardin and deet work fine against the bugs. This place is not the Disney Resort and that’s what we liked best. We’ll be back next year.

Cayo Loco is the most beautiful place to stay if, like us, you are looking for peace and tranquility, incredible ocean views and a fabulous almost deserted pink sand beach right at the bottom of the steps to your beach house! The house is just perfect for two people, with everything you need for your stay, clean, comfortable and well equipped. You will need a car to get around the island but hiring was easy and being from the UK we had no problems driving on the left! Eluethera is a very special island with so much to see and the most friendly people you could wish to meet. We would return in a flash and couldn't think of a more beautiful spot to stay than Cayo Loco. Thank you for allowing us to share in your little piece of paradise an hope to be back soon.

The place was absolutely amazing! We love it so much we are planning on booking again. Host was responsive and property manager was very helpful. We love the location, the privacy and the place in general. One issue we had was the Wi-Fi. David tried to fix it a couple of times but we were not able to connect. We needed it for the kiddos. Other than that like I said before we loved the place, definitely a repeat! Thank you!

It’s simply stunning; great location, facilities, and ambience. Love that previous guests have left bits n bobs which the owners have kindly left for the next guest … it’s got everything you need which makes it so special and perfect. Worth reading previous reviews as lots of great tips; owners and Phil (Caretaker) also really responsive. We loved the outdoor shower, the kayak, closeness to the sea, the kitchen and the peace and quiet - all we heard were the waves! It’s private, spacious and right on the beach so get ready to kick back and enjoy..

I research things like crazy and this has got to be the best place on the island. It’s spectacular place. It’s perfectly situated. It’s near fabulous restaurants (1648, Buccanears, Tippy’s, Bougainvillea…) If you’re a foodie, you want to be in Governor’s Harbour. The Levy Preserve is minutes away (beautiful path through native plants, flowers, feed the turtles, with a gradual assent to a gazebo lookout) Since it’s centrally located you can hit all the great spots on the island. Head north for a day on Harbour Island or go south (Cathedral Cave is a must). The Caribbean side is perfect with a gentle breeze and hardly any bugs! Sunsets from the house are insane! Twin Coves beach is arguably the most beautiful beach in the Bahamas. I liked it more than the Pink Sands Beach on Harbour Island. Cliff jumping steps from the house is unbelievable. Amazing location for privacy and serenity! Lisa was amazing to deal with from the beginning. We went with her recommendations even with rental car and boat charter. The bay where the house is, feels like you are totally on your own in this beautiful setting. Both of our kids were in the water most of the day. It was like having a huge pool of your own. Mosquito situation is a little crazy once sun comes down but it is everywhere on the island. House was fully stocked and very comfortable.

Where to start… this place is truly special. If you’re looking for a fancy resort this isn’t it, but if you want your own private insane white/pink sandy beach, local charm, and serenity this is your vacation. We were there 6 nights and saw one other person on the beach the entire time. We walked on the private beach 2 miles every morning followed by a swim in the ocean and a shower in the outdoor shower loaded with local shampoo and body wash made by a teacher on the island. We walked to pascals and had dinner and hung out with Sammy, and searched for other beaches only to realize ours was the best. It rained and we played cards inside our romantic cottage and listened to the waves. This is a special place and we will be back.

We loved our stay at Keith’s Airbnb. The view is absolutely breathtaking, and he had everything we needed to have fun on the water! From snorkel gear, to fishing poles, we had a blast. The kitchen was great for us to cook all our meals, and the diving right outside his place was wonderful. The balcony was perfect for watching the sunset, eating meals, and relaxing. We will be back and will recommend to all our friends in the future!

An absolutely beautiful perfect stay. House is perfect and exactly as described. Host was fabulous and if I come back here I will stay again. I cannot imagine a stay being any better.

A perfect place to stay for an Eleuthera experience. Short drives to many beaches and local grocery stores and restaurants. The house was clean, with functional AC and the kitchen had all the essentials for cooking at the house. The beach out the back was not quite what we expected based on pictures, more rocks and less sand, so hard for our little one to run around, but still a beautiful dock to walk out to and watch the sunset or just listen to the water. All in all a great trip!

The place is more than beautiful. The property is located on a beachfront lot. The beach itself is really serene, we’ve seen only 3 people on it over the 4 days we’be passed there…. And it was Christmas… The villa is spacious for our party of two and could ideally accomodate a family. You’ll have every accessories you need to spend 2-3 weeks vacation there. We wish we’d book for longer but decided to visit a couple of Bahamian islands on our 10 day visit. There are lots of good restaurants nearby but a car is really a must if you want to reabh them easily. We liked afternoon munches at Potlatch Club, dinners at Bougainvillea and, of course, relax snacks at Tippy’s. Barbara is a great host and did everything she could to accomodate our (belated by the airline company) arrival and departure. Her manager, Winifred, is also really pleasant to deal with and efficent. I definetly would go again and recommend the place.
