Houseboat vacation rentals in Caribbean

Unique opportunity to stay in a houseboat on the Keys. The Marina is on the Gulf side and is quite secluded despite being only a block from Route 1. We arrived pretty late after watching the sunset in Key West, but we had no problems as the Marina left clear instructions outside the office for us. The walkway down the slips to the boat is a bit narrow so watch out if you’re hauling large suitcases down there in the dark! The boat itself was super-cute. Really nicely furnished and very clean and homey. The queen size bed was really comfy and our kids liked the beds up in the loft too. The only issue was a shortage of hot water in the shower for the 4th person (me, of course). The toilet is a marine/RV toilet so that may take a bit of getting used to if you haven’t used one before. Coffee was provided for the morning and it was really nice to sit out on the little back deck watching the gulls fly about. It was our first experience staying on a marina, and you’re pretty close to your neighbors in that kind of environment but everyone was cool and respectful of each others’ space and privacy. Overall a really fun experience and we would definitely return given the opportunity. Don’t miss: For breakfast/brunch, do yourself a favor and drive the 5 minutes SW to “Over Easy” for breakfast. No regrets!

Great customer service and very friendly staff We stayed on the Manatee boat and it was very clean with some minor issues the staff would be happy to attend to if I asked them. We just didn’t use the tv much, but it wouldn’t turn off so we just placed it on soft music and used it for a sleep aid 🤷🏻‍♀️🥰 Mike, the guy there recommended we stay in the Grey Lady next time but this was a great experience for us.

A nice and unique experience, definitely worth trying, especially if you plan on sleeping on a boat. This is the first place to try because it offers a nice mix of boat and house. The interior feels just like a tiny house or a small hotel suite. Everything works well, is easily accessible, and our boat looked like a newly renovated or built unit, same as in the picutres. The front desk staff are friendly, and the check-in/check-out process was smooth. The only issue we encountered was the whistling noise from the AC. If you’re a light sleeper, you can turn it off at night or use earplugs. This is understandable given that seawater damages almost everything. However, this minor issue didn’t detract from the overall experience. I would go there again.

We had such a lovely few days on our houseboat, Dolphin. The boat was very clean and very nicely decorated. We LOVED the deck, especially the upper deck, to enjoy some drinks and views! Check in was very quick and the staff were so friendly! I highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Such a cool experience to stay on a houseboat. How much closer to being on the water can you get?! Full bathroom, kitchenette, space wasn't too small, it was nice and cozy. would definitely stay there again!

We stayed at Mangrove Marina for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I happened to find houseboat accommodations by accident and I'm glad I did. The houseboat was great and the views were awesome. The Marina is super cozy with a great pool and areas to cook and eat. We loved watching the distant lightning show from the deck of our houseboat. Mike was great to work with and an awesome host!

Book this if you can! I’ll echo all the positive reviews by saying this houseboat is adorable, cleverly designed, comfortable, and such a unique experience! It’s magical. Stay 3 nights minimum if you can. Bring a headlamp and water shoes (or use insoles in a pair of socks), but everything else you could need is there for you. It was incredible to kayak around the mangrove, go snorkeling, and then roast marshmallows on a campfire at night. My daughter and I loved it. Frank was a delightful host who made us feel at home. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

This houseboat is a must stay. The marina is very active but the location is super quiet. So you get the fun but you are just a short walk away from the bustle in your quiet little area. The houseboat truly is that …. A house … and a boat. Basically you get a 3 bedroom apartment on the water. Just loved the place. I wish I had one. lol. Great host and everything worked as expected. Hot water; full kitchen and two baths; central air and all the lights as expected.

rose was a wonderful host. great bed and linens. Friday night traffic was loud. I didn't expect it to be next to a busy road. also a rundown apt building is directly in front of the boat w various people hanging around . open gates on both sides of the entrance to dock so anyone can walk in.

We are boaters and appreciate the 'marina life' and aren't bothered by the nuances of living on a boat. "Comfortably Numb" is in great shape, very clean ... no problems/issues with any of the on-board systems. The Dockside Bar/Grill just down the boardwalk just adds to the charm. A very comfortable space for a couple - relax in the Salon or the aft berth ... big TVs in both. The aft deck is perfect for morning coffee. If you don't have what you need in the kitchen, Winn-Dixie and Publix are just a few blocks away. If you aren't boaters, you'll notice that the doors and stairwells are narrow, the ceilings are low, the toilets flush funny and the showers are small ... we loved it! I hope we can fit it into our winter get away next year.

The place is beautiful. I wouldn’t recommend staying in Marigot bay the whole time. There’s not a lot of great food options, all with the same, fairly limited menu. The local food is the best option - jerk chicken, stews, etc, but even those are not as good as the rest of the island. This place is only accessible by boat - you need what’s app to get on and off the cabin to get food. The beach is walking distance and there’s some food and beverages served when you get chairs during the day. The hike along the property (Billy goat trail) is stunning. It’s really very very beautiful, but it’s not a great place to see the island. Also being a sound machine - sound travels across the water and it can be fairly loud.

It was a tranquil private location to disconnect, grill some steaks, swim, soak up some sun and decompress.

If you're looking for a unique stay, unplugged, in a beautiful setting, this is it! Rob is an artist! He has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and the fun abundant. The craftsmanship, design, and aesthetic decor is such a treat. Our family of 4 (2 tweens) give this 10 out of 5 stars. Definitely take an eco-tour. (A big shoutout to Captain Tony!) We went shelling and saw some cool creatures— a lot of dolphins! We have been to Key West a few times, but this is by far the most memorable trip. Two nights aboard was the right amount of time for us. Enough time for a restful recharge and a little adventure. Happy New Year, Rob! Thank you for the superb communication and memorable stay. Staying on a houseboat is a very unique experience! I recommend for nature lovers and folks seeking to escape the touristy feel of the "town." It was lovely to wake up each morning on the water and have a little breakfast facing the sunrise. Sergey's spot had the basics, but it was everything we needed: beach towels, plates/bowls/utensils, a comfy spot to sleep... the bed was comfortable and had the softest sheet I've ever slept on! The kayak was clutch to get to the marina, and then we rented bikes to get into town each day. When a plastic ring snapped on the kayak, Sergey was quick to help us fix it - responsive to messages. It was so nice to have our own kayak and explore the mangroves - and Sergey had provided a map recommending where to explore!

Our stay in Jupiter was great. Location on the water gave us opportunity to fish off the rental and soak up some sun. Walking distance to waterfront restaurants and close to the beach/inlet. Our fishing charter even picked us up at the houseboat. Overall, we had a great experience.

What an amazing experience! Staying here was truly unforgettable and such a unique memory. So relaxing and peaceful, the paddle boards were amazing to have and swim around. We saw different fish, conch, starfish, coral and even a few nurse sharks at night. The bed, chairs and hammock were super comfortable. We went in January and didn’t even need to use the AC at all. The hosts were super responsive as well and the shuttle boat to get to it was super easy to find and get to. Just remember to bring food, water, ice and disposable utensils. Overall I could not recommend staying here enough I will definitely be back!

The houseboat was a unique place to stay. It was very easy to get a taxi/uber to key west. Ryan and his neighbors were all super friendly. Everything was comfortable for a a quick 2 days visiting key west.

Since I was a child I’ve wanted to see the inside of a real houseboat and this was the perfect opportunity. I booked for my family to stay here a few days before our cruise began and it definitely added to the wonderment of the vacation. Taylor even had a couple paddle boards brought to us. It may be a slightly older houseboat but I loved the charm of it. It’s really really fun. My family is still talking about “the boat before the cruise”, and I know they’ll remember it long after.

It was our first time staying on a houseboat and the amenities were great!! Brad was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. Great place and location for Key West!!

OWB is awesome! it's clearly intended for people with boats, but we particularly stayed here because of their loose restrictions for dogs. With 2 adults, 1 child, and 3 dogs of different sizes, the hammerhead was comfortable and pleasant. Everything was clean, kitchen was complete, they were generous with toiletries, linens were clean, and the bed plus futon was enough to give all of us comfortable sleep (dogs included). The area is very quiet and the neighbors were peaceful. Key deer visit the houseboat every now and then, which was fun to see. No name pub was walking distance, and dive shops and other restos on Big Pine were just 10 mins away. We also got to visit places in Marathon and Cudjoe Key. Overall a good place for low key, no frills trip and excellent for dog owners.
