Vacation rentals with lake access in Candlewood Lake

A friend and I decided to do a staycation over at Michael's and it was an absolutely lovely home with beautiful thoughtful decor that made our visit very relaxing. We stayed inside and read books while overlooking the gorgeous view, and could brunch in Fishkill or Peekskill nearby. The only snag was checking in; there was no key in the lockbox and no quick response while we tried to figure out how to get in. Fortunately, though the door was locked (the deadbolt was unlocked, & the doorknob lock was locked) the door was not fully pushed closed, so door was in effect open/not locked, and we could go straight inside. Confusing. Again I didn't take off any points, still rated this a 5 star experience! Would love to stay again some time in the future if I need a place to work from home.

This place was a breath of fresh air. I've noticed a trend on AirBNB of rentals that are obviously flipped investment properties with no character and no evidence of life: this place is the opposite! Charming, comfortable, with hosts who actually know the area and live in the area. This is a great family option when visiting the surrounding Hudson Valley towns. I hope I can get back here soon!

We couldn’t have picked a better home to spend Thanksgiving in! The house was absolutely perfect—spacious, modern, and comfortable, with the most stunning, private views of the lake. Waking up to those breathtaking views every morning made our holiday extra special. Malik was incredibly responsive, helpful, and accommodating every step of the way, ensuring our stay was seamless and enjoyable. The home felt like the perfect retreat, and we’re so grateful for the experience. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

My wife and I had the good fortune to spend our 10-year wedding anniversary at Vanessa’s Airbnb. It was beautiful, comfortable, and had the combo of luxury and being in the woods by the lake. Scott hosted my friends and I in a beautiful home on the water. We enjoyed water sport activities, even in November! We were 10 minutes away from New Paltz and 10 minutes away from hiking spots! The house was east to locate, check-in to, and Scott communicated very effectively. We were even granted late check-out! The house was very charming, well-stocked, and clean. One of my favorite touches was the “pet essentials” corner. Scott provided our pup with a bed, food bowls, and a leash - very thoughtful! His rules are clearly explained and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend a stay at Scott’s and would love to return next time I’m looking to stay in the area.

Anne Marie's place was exactly what we were looking for! It is extremely well stocked, with everything you might need, from kitchen appliances, extra blankets, many towels, etc. The surroundings were gorgeous and the area is very quiet and peaceful. Anne Marie was friendly and very responsive, answering questions quickly and flexibly. We can't wait to come back!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Gaby's home. Unlike many Airbnb hosts who design their spaces to feel like generic hotels, Gaby’s place radiated warmth, personality, and charm. It felt like a home that had been truly lived in and loved, with thoughtful, personal touches like family photos, unique art, and an impressive collection of books that added so much character. Gaby herself was an incredible host—always responsive, friendly, and approachable. She’s the kind of person I'd love to sit down and chat with. The setting was absolutely stunning. We had snow, the lake was frozen, and the wintry view was really peaceful. The abundance of wildlife made it even more special—we spotted deer, bald eagles, a couple of foxes who visited every morning, and even a bobcat prancing around the house one evening. We also love to cook, and Gaby’s kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to play chef If you’re looking for an authentic and unforgettable Airbnb experience

Staying at Lilian's place was pleasurable. It was clean, everything matched the description, and the furniture and kitchen were in very good condition. Amanda was very responsive and helpful with recommendations, and she was also very pleasant to work with. We definitely highly recommend Lilian's place.

The description of the home was exactly what we experienced. It was very peaceful. And in a naturally beautiful area. We truly enjoyed our time there.

My fiancé, our dog, and I stayed here for a quiet NYE staycation. We stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it. The space was very clean and accurate to the pictures posted on the listing. There was another family with a dog who was staying in the main house at the same time we were, however, we never really heard them. Our favorite part was the bottle of red wine from Millbrook Winery left on the kitchen table for us. We always appreciate a personal touch from an Airbnb hose! We hope to be back soon!

Great stay!!! Was impeccably cleaned and perfect location between rhinebeck, pine plains and close to the taconic! Arlene was super helpful with all questions and provided new sheets and towels through our stay. Would definitely stay here again!

We only had a short stay, but John was a great help letting us check in early - they clearly love their home and the town, offering annotated menus of local restaurants and info on many natural features to visit in the area. Delightful decor, many many plants, plenty of linens available, no shortage of room to lounge and relax. Parking was a cinch, checkout directions were clear and simple. Would stay again.

This was just what I needed for my first trip to Mohegan Lake! Quiet neighborhood. Cozy bed. Great water pressure. I’ll definitely be booking again if I come back to this cute little town.

Such a great time! No problems throughout our whole stay, and it was more than we could've imagined. Went up during winter and the snow + lake freezing over was beautiful!

Vivian’s place is beautiful, pristine, and has everything you could want or need from an Airbnb. We spent almost all of our time in front of the fireplace playing games, cooking in the kitchen (which has plentiful cookware and appliances), and enjoying the view of the lake. There are many cute towns within 15-20 minutes in all directions to explore, grab a meal or provisions, and window shop. We didn’t have any issues with cell service, and the WiFi was speedy. Vivian was a wonderful, responsive host. We would heartily recommend this house!

This place is beyond words - simply beautiful and amazing! The stay here was no less than wonderful. The lake views, the hot tub spa, the coziness of the home and the peace. Very relaxing environment and quiet. Feyza was a great host! She was very communicative from the start. This place was definitely what was needed. Will definitely come back again in the future!

Another Perfect Stay in Morris, Connecticut! We had our third wonderful experience staying at Kevin’s place in Morris! The home was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. The furnishings were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind after a day of exploring Litchfield County. The location was perfect – quiet and peaceful, yet close to local attractions, hiking spots, and charming nearby towns. We really enjoyed the easy access to nature trails and the serene atmosphere of the area. Kevin was a fantastic host, providing great communication and helpful tips about the area. We can’t recommend this place enough – a true gem in Morris!

This was just what we were looking for - quiet, peaceful, relaxing getaway at a scenic location but still close to a ton of restaurants. Mark was a wonderful host and very responsive and the cottage was beautiful. We’d certainly love to be back some day.

Chris’ place was immaculately decorated and felt peaceful! Beautiful spot right on the pristine lake, foliage being in peak season definitely made things even better. Close to fun fall towns like Sleepy Hollow and Cold Spring, but honestly could just spend every minute relaxing at the well-stocked home. You can tell Chris and his family take pride in their home and are happy to share it to price the best experience for their guests. Chris was quick to respond if needed and went out of his way to make a trip quickly to ensure we were properly taken care of at the home. 10/10 - would recommend!
