Cottage vacation rentals in Butterfield Lake

This was a great spot for our large family to land together while visiting other local family for the holidays. We appreciated the open space and the well-equipped kitchen and laundry. Christine's place was clean and it worked well for our needs! We'd come again for sure.

A fantastic cottage in a beautiful, private location. The place has everything you need. It also offers a chance to get away and unwind — with plenty of space for friends and family to join. Westport is just down the road and worth a visit, especially the brewery. Yvonne is also a conscientious and responsive host, so you’ll be in good hands. Great host, great stay!

The property is beautiful. Luckily we were the only ones there, so had the land to ourselves. felt private and serene. I would not have enjoyed it as much if the other cabin had occupants as everything is close together. The cabin is cozy, furniture/appliances are a little wobbly but it adds to the charm and quiky of the place. it was bright and clean. the water is super murky right by the boathouse and launch, but clears as you head out. The stone "step" onto the porch of the cabin can be tricky with anyone with mobility limitations, so take it slow. There is an antique store maybe a 5 min walk that is a great little treasure trove. I found the cutest wind chimes. And loved chatting with the lady working. Most people we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. Quick drive to Clayton and Watertown. There is a country store and a dollar general not very far from the cabin if you need supplies and firewood for sale galore. Wendy was a gracious host. Will be back!

Our stay at this Airbnb was amazing—definitely 5 stars all around! The check-in process was seamless and extremely easy to follow. The house was spotless, and cleanliness exceeded our expectations. Everything was exactly as described, making the experience incredibly reliable. Communication with the host was quick, clear, and efficient from booking to check-out. The location was peaceful with stunning views, providing a truly relaxing atmosphere. For the price, the value was fantastic, and we felt it was a great deal overall. We highly recommend this Airbnb and would love to stay again in the future!

Lovely space - just like the pictures. A little tricky to find the first time, but its location is part of what makes it so peaceful. The cottage was perfect for our needs and the hot tub was delightful. David answered all our inquiries promptly and even let us check in early when I asked. We had some issues with the internet service, but that was clearly weather-related. And although he was unable to resolve the issue before we checked out, David was very responsive and reached out to the internet company right away and made every effort to get it fixed.

Beautiful cottage, great amenities, a wonderful space to stay with friends! Very spacious and nice open concept, nice hot tub and sauna, a great and well equipped kitchen. Super handy having a dishwasher and a dryer available, came in quite handy. Overall a great trip and stay, had an awesome time and would definitely come back! Jordan was very responsive as well and helpful both during the stay and leading up to it.

We had the most memorable family get together at Genie's stay in Iroquois. The place exceeded our expectations. We were dazzled by the charm of the site and the warmth of this heritage house. Conveniences galore, fun for everyone, lots of space, comfortable accomodations, amazing views, great communication with the hosts. This one is at the top of our list for future gatherings! Thanks so much for setting the stage for our memories that will last for decades !

Jay and Jess’ cottage was absolutely amazing! The pictures don’t do it justice. The cottage was very clean and met all of our expectations. The hot tub took a little while to get going, but once we got it up to temp we were able to fully enjoy! We struggled to determine the temperature of the hot tub because the device in the tub had condensation in it that made it more difficult to read (although still doable) but as we were packing up we noticed a thermostat inside the cottage for the hot tub. The sauna was faster to warm up and was enjoyed by our group as well. The cottage had lots of instructions for everything, which made our stay that much more enjoyable. We loved the decor and all of the collectibles on display. We hope to be able to stay here again next year!

I'll admit, based on the reviews our expectations were high. They were exceeded in nearly every facet of our stay. We desperately needed ( election fatigue) to get away and have a week of peace, quiet, and serenity. Danielle and Jorden's home was perfect. there was not one single time while staying there that we looked for something that didn't exist. The bathrooms and kitchen are fabulous, and all are very well appointed. The radiant floors in the ensuite bath were a nice touch. The location is ideal, you are right on the lake with wonderful views from both inside and out, and despite having neighbors, it feels incredibly private. We had one small mechanical issue which Danielle took care of immediately. they were a pleasure to speak with, and their response time was always nearly immediate. The locals were incredibly friendly, the supermarket is just across the lake, and there's a nice dog park for those bringing their fur babies. We look forward to a returning to this ideal spot.

My husband and I rented the cottage for a much needed break and it didn't disappoint. It was very peaceful and private. The cottage was beautiful and extremely clean and well stocked with everything you need. We enjoyed sitting down by the water and our dog loved the shallow entry which would be great if you have kids. Judith was very helpful and responsive for any questions we had. I would highly recommend this little piece of paradise if you are in need of a stress free, relaxing time away!

this is a lovely home to stay at whether your looking for a summertime get away or a winter boys ice fishing trip, I will definitely book this house again if I come back up to watertown.

We rented this place over the long weekend and just loved it. Robert was a very response host. Everything was perfect. Very spacious place with everything you could possibly need. Very close to town, grocery store and sight seeing. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! The wall of windows allowed us to soak up the breathtaking views, and even though it was cold out we bundled up and enjoyed sitting out on the dock. We loved the little nature trail by the house, too. It was a dream of a stay and we hope to return again sometime soon!

Absolutely spectacular. Hidden gem! If you are looking for something private but still within a 15-20minute drive to groceries this is the place to stay! You won’t be disappointed. Comfortably holds a family of 6! We had an absolute blast! Stunning property and open concept cottage. Lots of natural light and gorgeous view from the living room! The dock and wrap around deck were absolutely beautiful to enjoy for sunrise and sunset! 2 hour drive to Ottawa and 2 hours to Gatineau National Park! Highly recommend the drive into Gatineau park! And Pink Salmon trail! If you have fur babies, this park is very restricted due to the sensitive eco system! Really cute shops and restaurants in downtown Ottawa and in Gatineau Park! We absolutely will be coming back (: Thank you Rachael for being an incredible host! Very responsive to requests and very accommodating !

Ellen’s place was so clean and inviting. I didn’t want to leave! The beds and couches were comfortable and the view was amazing. Definitely recommend staying here!

Beautiful and peaceful location right by the lake surrounded by trees. Host was kind and responsive, cabin is older but functional and has everything you need. The view from the balcony overlooks the lake and you can enjoy your meal there or have barbecue. There is also direct access to the lake and you can use the motor boat and the canoes. We were here in the fall with our two dogs and really enjoyed the colors on the trees. Be aware that there are ticks and if you bring a dog, they absolutely need to have protection against ticks. Would recommend to those who appreciate nature and are not looking for luxury but a cozy cabin experience.
