Idyllic location overlooking mountains and lovely bucolic scenery. Perfect place for a stopover. Dani, the host, was very friendly and helpful.

Private accommodation (one of three on site), cosy and comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed and on site laundry facilities were very handy! Walkable into the beautifully traditional Reefton town centre, great restaurants and interesting local history. Only 45min drive to Maruia Hot Springs. Steve was a friendly host, we met briefly on site as we were checking out.

Lovely spot in a fantastic location. Super easy to get to all of the great hikes and sights. We loved it!

Loved the treehouse and how close it is to the Truman Track and Pancake Rocks. Wish the weather would have been more cooperative but at least we had a beautiful place to stay while it was pouring rain outside.

Great location for us. So handy we were allowed to bring our pet. Unit was lovely and clean with nice comfy beds. We will definitely be back.

The host was incredibly welcoming. We appreciated the comfortable beds and the quiet atmosphere of the room. It was well-equipped with amenities, a mini-fridge, a kettle, and cooking appliances, making it very convenient. We booked the Ugly Duckling late in our planning, to fill in a gap when our accommodation choices in other towns weren’t available, and to break up the journey between Christchurch and Nelson. Turned out to be a real highlight of our trip, and would love to visit again. As other reviews said - comfy, homey, well equipped, and spacious enough when the rain kept us inside. Kids were entertained by the toys, games, and garden.

David's Cape Foulwind home is near, or at, the top of any Airbnb we have ever experienced! And that covers a lot of places. The photos don't do it justice as both inside and out the place is stunning. David was proactive with communication and his recommendation for Bev's Scullery in Waimangaroa was spot on for pies. Even though it was winter, we were very comfortable inside. We benefited from some exceptional weather, but the views would be amazing regardless.

We had a great stay over xmas and new years, it was a really nice family space and an ideal base for relaxing and enjoying Reefton and the surrounding area. Communication with Alice and Eamon was quick and easy.

We absolutely loved our stay at "the Waves"! We felt very much at home with everything we needed for a lovely winter holiday. The views were absolutely amazing and the sun just streamed in keeping us very warm and comfortable along with the heat pump and log burner. Well equipped kitchen, relaxing lounge furniture and a very comfortable bed, not to mention the DVD's and Spa bath made for a very enjoyable holiday.
