Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Bassetlaw District

Wonderful and quaint little home. It felt like we were staying at a friend’s house and not at an Airbnb. Everything was spotlessly clean, including all the nicknacks, which I was impressed by! Would stay there again next time we are in Bakewell. One thing that is 100% not her fault but future guests should be aware of: we have O2 and Vodaphone mobile providers and 4G coverage was very spotty in the house and around town in general. If I were staying there again, I would purchase the EE WiFi on the first night that is available in the house and just plan on using that for my visit.

Rachael has a top AirBnB rating because her place is superbly located and thoughtfully set-up. The cottage is very light, spacious, super comfortable and clean, and has all that you could want for a relaxing stay. Standout details are the list of walks and places to eat and drink, the views from the house, the really well equipped kitchen – and not forgetting Rachael’s greeting with a tin of home baked brownies, 2 ponies and 2 dogs! And the stag with antlers running in the next field… We will be booking our next stay at Rachael and Gerry’s cottage soon and hope to book the neighbouring Stables Cottage and superb looking cabin too for a visit with family.

We had a wonderful weekend with friends in this beautiful house! It really does look as good (if not better) than in the pictures. You would not believe that you could find somewhere so peaceful this close to the A1 which makes it very easy to get to. So well laid out and has absolutely everything you could need! I seriously considered refusing to leave 🤣

We had a wonderful stay at The Drey, a really lovely little countryside retreat, only a 10 min drive from Ladybower Reservoir and Hope Valley. The accommodation itself was great, a nice wee balcony to enjoy the views with a morning coffee with a warm and cosy living room and bedroom. Helen also provided eggs, tea, coffee, milk, butter and jam which was very much appreciated! The place was easy to find and only a short walk into the village itself where there are a couple pubs. Excellent all round experience, we will definitely be back. Thank you Helen!

I booked the Hobbit Hut for a surprise for my mum for Mother’s Day and it was truly a wonderful weekend. Nicola is such a kindhearted and attentive host and she made our stay so lovely. The hut itself was beautiful, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We loved sitting outside the hut and in the amazing wood-fired hot tub as it was so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed exploring the local area and the pub just up the road served great food. We would definitely recommend the hut to anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful off-grid experience and think it would be amazing to stay there at anytime of year.

A great place to stay, a lovely well equipped cottage, with fantastic views and friendly and responsive hosts. There's lots to do in Matlock Bath, we had a great time here.

The cottage was warm & welcoming. John provided a generous welcome pack of goodies and was flexible and responsive to any questions. We really appreciated the beauty of the surrounding countryside and peaceful environment of the cottage. Despite it being a spring visit we enjoyed having the fire lit for us one evening. I have no hesitation to recommend Johns cottage.

Duck’s Crossing Cottage felt homely immediately and throughout our stay. Relaxing and beautiful surrounding in the lovely village of Egginton. The house and garden are spacious and well equipped. People in the village are very friendly. We look forward to staying here again in the near future. Many thanks Ros :)
