Our stay at Lugar das Letras was nothing short of magical. This beautifully restored house, once an old school, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards—a true feast for the eyes. The rooms and bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, thoughtfully designed to make us feel at home. But what made our experience truly unforgettable were Carla and Paula, the two wonderful ladies who took care of every detail. Every morning, they prepared a memorable breakfast for our entire family, filled with warmth and care. Their kindness and hospitality turned our stay into a dream. We can’t wait to return to this little slice of paradise in the Douro Valley. Highly recommended!

Laurence and Jorge’s home provided a peaceful and beautiful escape in the Douro valley! The surrounding village is small and quaint with lovely views around every corner. The roads are winding, skinny and steep - no different from any other small town or city in Portugal. The home was impeccably clean, the Murphy bed surprisingly comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. A fantastic spot!

Perfect jumping off point for Douro Valley. The house served our family of 5 well. We had a great experience with the property manager, Beatriz. She was very communicative and even helped us ship home a few items we left behind. Overall a great stay.

The location is in an area of nature, it is a long access but it is well done and worth it for the house and the views. The house is beautiful, very comfortable and cared for, the exteriors with the pool and covered porch area are wonderful. The hosts are very nice. We really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent accommodation and excellent hosts. The house is spacious, very comfortable and with all amenities for a quiet stay. Located in the historic area of Bragança, the accesses are not the best, but the indications given by the hosts have helped a lot. The river Fervença running right next to it gives you a special touch. I recommend it and will be back.

Great accommodation with a great view over the farmland. The people, that are taking care of the place are extremely lovely. They are farmers will gladly offer you to taste some of theirs fruits, olives, or homemade wine.

Our stay was perfect. Teresa and Jorge are wonderful hosts, who have pampered us throughout our stay. They are always available and looking to satisfy any wishes or needs we may have. The house is really unique and special, full of history and beautiful decoration, antiques and exquisite details. Children and adults have been so comfortable with the pool, the weather, the barbecue, the outdoor furniture,... that we have enjoyed the house more than the obligatory tourist visits to the city and the area. 100% Recommended

Small stone house nicely renovated. Beautiful decor. Lots of tricks to make a small space functional. A few food items,for troubleshooting, are for sale. Typical village, plan your supplies.

Great experience! The accommodation is in a perfect location, so to get to know the city we don't need the car. It is right next to the Castle, museums and restaurants. Carla is awesome! Simpaática, proactive, knows the region very well and is super accessible. When we return to Bragança we will certainly stay there again. I highly recommend it.

Delightful! So wonderful on cold November evenings to arrive and return to a warm home. They had pre-heated the home to create a perfect welcome! I want that shower! The shower is so spacious, easy entry, the drain works perfectly, the water all stays in the shower. Gorgeous view from my bedroom and the balcony. So many restaurants in town. Perfect for easy and scenic round trip drive along the Douro.

Fantastic stay, what a lovely family. There were lots of little touches, toys for children etc and a big outdoor space. The pool was not working but the family took us to a local outdoor pool 4km away which is just what we needed in the heat! We would happily return.

Our stay was really amazing. The space is beautiful from the surroundings to the house. The house is beautiful, very well equipped! Everything you can expect from a house, you can find in the space! The hosts were very attentive, answering all our questions quickly, politely and effectively! Even in winter, the house is very well equipped and on all floors and environments, the temperature was very comfortable! Really, a dream place. I highly recommend it!

The property was beautiful. We arrived early and they rushed to clean everything. We were offered the property with the jacuzzi, and there were all the necessary amenities for our baby: high chair, toys, bed… the jacuzzi in front of the large windows was an unforgettable experience. Central location for exploring the Douro. All our needs were met, we were offered port and local fruits. It is obvious that these people care about the well-being of their guests, we recommend it without hesitation.

This place was incredible. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, it was perfect. Such a kind host and farm manager, beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and convenient to all things in the Douro Valley. I would stay at this place again in a second. Definitely worth it!

Sergio is a perfect host, friendly, responsive and helpful. The apartment is in a very safe and welcoming area, nicely located a short drive from local amenities. It has everything you need to stay and we were comfortable. Though some early issues with the WiFi, Sergio was super quick to fix and very understanding, honestly this really made the trip for us. He kindly offered local recommendations and showed us a lovely river a short walk from the apartment. Wishing you the best, thanks again :)

Great place in Fermentoes. we loved the view out to vineyard valley, layout of the house and easy access to our walking route. would recommend!
