Cottage vacation rentals in Akureyri

Absolutely stunning location! It’s easily accessible to Akureyri while still being secluded and located almost on the water. There are 5 cabins but they’re nicely spaced out so you still feel a sense of privacy. The hot tub was lovely, though since it doesn’t use jets, the water recycling through was quite loud and detracted a bit from the peaceful experience. Regardless we loved staying here for one night, and wish we could have stayed longer. As mentioned the view is breathtaking, and the cabin has all the essentials you would need for your stay.

Marino is such a great host to help out even we got trapped out of the house one night. Definitely recommend you to stay here with the superb view in the summer and we’d definitely come back next time if we get the chance!

Our family really enjoyed this place which has quiet surroundings, heated bathroom floors and relaxing hot tub. A great place to watch aurora. Washer and dryer had some issues but we are just happy they are available. The host readily offered to help.

Our stay at Marino’s was nothing short of perfect — the picturesque backdrop to this stunning cabin was something out of a movie. I highly recommend this property to anyone spending time near Dalvík!

The house is comfortable, warm, clean, well equipped and in a stunning location. The hot tub is easy to use and very nice to relax in. We stayed 3 nights and could have happily stayed much longer. Despite the weather (cold with low cloud and rain) we loved the views over the water and the snowy mountains. We drove up to Siglufjordur which is beautiful, walked on the causeway in front of the house and on Dalvik beach which is gorgeous, and did the classic whale watching from Dalvik and saw humpbacks, minke whales and porpoises. Also visited Tjornes peninsula and Husavic. Unfortunately the puffins left early this year so we didn't see any, but the coast is dramatic and we did some good walks. All fantastic. Thanks Ragnar.

The whole place was just magical - right at the waterfront with a beautiful view from the bedrooms and the hot tub. It is even way more modern than in the pictures - our expectations were totally fulfilled. We were staying with a group of 8 people in total so with the key system it was just really easy to organize everything. Definetly recommend booking it and staying with them!

Super stay, completely modernized and everything was neat and clean. Nice jacuzzi where you can sit in peace and privacy. Lovely location with lovely views.

This was absolutely the most beautiful home we have ever stayed in and we have been traveling for over 40 years. Well appointed and the location was perfect for privacy and it was very serene. Amazing amenities and we saw the northern lights our very first night! Gudny was a charm to work with and was very responsive with any questions. I would come back here in a heartbeat!

This is probably the coolest airbnb that I've stayed in (have stayed in 400+) and every day and night that we were there we thought "wow, I wish we could buy this home". If you want to see Iceland yet experience it in a more unique way in terms of staying on a quiet island not far from the mainland where there are no cars and not many people, then stay here. It's super easy to catch the ferry back to your car (about 15 minutes) and the views from the airbnb and the island are so beautiful that you won't want to leave anyway. Seeing the northern lights from here was also unreal. I would easily come back. Bjorgvin was super easy to plan with before as well and gave great advice.

The little house overlooking Akureyri is really perfect. The location is beautiful and it is not far to downtown, you have a view over the entire city and the fjord and the accommodation itself is very homely and beautifully decorated. We lacked nothing and everything was perfect all around.

This is a gorgeous home. I am so lucky to have found it and spent a few days here. I had some trouble getting to the airbnb due to a storm and Kjartan was so kind to offer help and come rescue us. Couldn’t have picked a better place near Akureyri to call home.

If you are looking for a quiet, cozy and idyllic accommodation surrounded by nature, you will find it here. A super cozy cabin that has everything you need. The hot pot is a treat to warm up in the evening. There was nothing missing, we would come back any time.

Wow. What a stunning location and home! Remote and scenic, offered all of the relaxation and beauty of Northern Iceland that we could ask for. We were well prepared with Lea’s instructions to stock up on groceries/other before heading to the cabin. We were able to get some extra things at the grocery store in town though which was helpful, but I recommend coming prepared! The geothermal heated hot tub was a true bonus and even though we didn’t get to see the Northern lights, we loved watching the night sky through the panoramic windows. Would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! It was comfortable, clean, and peaceful and had everything we needed. Great place to stay if you’re in the area.

A beautiful way to experience North Iceland in winter: from inside a prestine, modern, warm and cozy glass house - with expansive views of the surrounding mountains and valley (and lucky the us, the northern lights). We easily cooked every night in the well stocked kitchen, and enjoyed fires in the stove. The location was 8 minutes from Dalvik for groceries and cafes, and plenty close for us to the towns and wonders North Iceland has to offer. A huge thanks to host Gudrun who immediately, nicely and thoroughly answered so many questions we had before and during the trip; and who fixed an issue we had with a window within hours. Only complaint is that we had to leave too soon. Can't wait to return to this Icelandic paradise.

Wonderful luxury cottage perched high on the mountain, close to everything, but with spectacular views over Akureyri and the fjord. Modern, clean and well stocked with amenities, including a hot tub and laundry. Arnor was very responsive and easy to work with, gave great suggestions for dining and activities. Highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again!
